This is a known bug in some older versions of macOS, the solution is to upgrade to a more recent version of macOS. Which version of macOS are you using?

Hello,

I have the same problem since a lot of time.

The boxes switch to black only when connected to remote site.

My OS is 10.13.6 : is this OS in cause ?

Thanks for your answer.

Sergio

As previously mentioned this is a bug in macOS.

macOS 10.13 is extremely outdated. You need to update to a more recent version of macOS.
