Which mirrors?

comment:2 by ajvdvegt, 17 years ago

I downloaded from San Jose and Amsterdam. Both files gave the same MD5sum, but that sum was different from the one mentioned in the md5-file I downloaded.

I can't detect any problems with these mirrors, all checksums come out correct. So the problem is on your end.

Possible reasons:

  • Broken router/firewall which taints the data
  • Malicious ISP/Government which taints the data
  • Broken virus scanner
  • Broken harddisk or filesystem
  • Broken browser/downloadmanager

I downloaded at another location (at home) from Amsterdam again, and you are absolutely right. I'll try to find the cause and get back to you if I find anything. (Note that the executable ran fine, so accidental modification would be rather unlikely, hmmmm....)
