Cannot paste password into "Enter password" dialog

Description
I have a saved server registration which I have configured to ask for password when I try to connect.
I click to connect, and the "Enter password" dialog appears.
When I try to paste my password into the textbox in this dialog, nothing happens. I have to type in my password.

Ditto. Having this issue using 3.44.2 on macOS 10.14.6.
This issue was formerly reported fixed in #9811, which is now reopened.

Please fix this. Typing out "secure" passwords that are 20 characters long is stupid.
