Installing update, always fails

Description
When installing updates i get a message that it has not installed but will open with the default setting. See attached.

The file in question has become damaged. Please repair it in your favorite text editor to salvage any remaining content, or delete the file if you do not mind loosing its contents.
Please make sure to always properly shut down FileZilla to prevent issues like this.

The error message that was sent as an attachment shows up only when I OPEN the program.
In addition. the file I am trying to upload is a pdf. and only a pdf. There is nothing to edit.
