#11264 new Bug report

Downloading into a directory synced with Dropbox causes queuing to fail and Filezilla to hang

Description

My local FTP directory for all of my websites syncs to my other computers via Dropbox Pro.

In the current version of Filezilla when you queue a large directory/entire site to download, and Dropbox begins to upload this causes Filzilla to hang, spring back to life, hang again and so on. The problem seems related to dynamically adding files to the queue; as soon as queuing is done the problems end. If the directory contains a very large number of <1k files this causes Filezilla to crash outright. Quitting Dropbox solves the problem.

I've used Fz for years with this setup, it has not previously caused any problems.

When this has occured I've had to force Fz to quit, it was consuming 99%+ of CPU, so I could not obtain a full crash report.

I could try and video a download session if that would help? In the meantime I've attached the reports from activity monitor at the time.

I maybe using the word crash incorrectly though. Perhaps it's more accurate to say that the application becomes unresponsive, consuming excessive CPU time and RAM, meanwhile the machine becomes barely usable. Forcing Fz to quit resolves the issue, as does not using dropbox during a download.

This isn't a slow machine Mac Pro 2009, 3.66 GHz Westmere Xeon, 6Gps SATA SSD, 32Gb RAM.

I added an additional attachment - it's been stuck like this for a couple of hours.

Could you please try this build of FileZilla? It contains a a threading related change that might be related to your situation.

Great improvement, but still stutters and hangs while recursively queueing if Dropbox is also syncing. If I quit Dropbox it works perfectly.
