#10952 moreinfo Bug report
Remote window shows blank, no files listed or odd white space above remote file list, but remote files re-appear when app is re-sized
Reported by: | Walter Cain | Owned by: | |
---|---|---|---|
Priority: | high | Component: | FileZilla Client |
Keywords: | Remote window, no files, empty, blank, white space, no files, re-appear on app re-size | Cc: | |
Component version: | Filezilla 3.21.0 | Operating system type: | Linux |
Operating system version: | Ubuntu 16.04 |
Description
Symptoms:
Log onto remote site : occasionally remote folders and file listings do not show - (remote panel completely blank). However, if the app window is re-sized, folders & file list suddenly shows correctly.
Seemingly random, often initial login is ok - folders & files all listed.
But click on a remote folder and the remote pane shows blank or is 'half filled' with listing.
Causes/triggers:
Can't see a pattern / can't identify any particular folder attributes that trigger it.
Workaround:
But always re-sizing of the Filezilla app will magically fix it (for that view only), folders & files will appear as normal. But go into another folder and the problem is back.
Very frustrating - v. difficult to work with this issue.
Tested across two machines, two different users: exactly the same problem - both users have same OS and Filezilla Versions.

So far I've been unable to reproduce it on a local Ubuntu 16.04 installation with Unity.
What kind of graphics card do you have and which driver are you using?

All other apps are ok - this is happening across 2 different machines here (both Ubuntu 16.04, both Unity).
One is: Graphics: Gallium 0.4 on AMD SUMO (DRM 2.43.0, LLVM 3.8.0)
The other is: Intel® Ivybridge Mobile

You are neither using the official FileZilla binaries nor using the version packaged by Ubuntu.
Did you compile FileZilla yourself or did you obtain it from a third-party repository?
The version of wxWidgets your FileZilla links again, does it in turn link against GTK+2 or GTK+3?
What's your desktop environment? Which theme engine are you using for GTK+2 based programs?
