Never Check for Updates not working

Application is set to "Never" check for updates as I don't want automatic update checking, I want manual. Version has not yet mattered in this issue. Please advise.

It never checks for updates with this option set. It however still displays known updates.

Not true. I have tried deleting all downloaded update files and application still checks for updates and will download update if one is available.

Checking and downloading updates are two different things.

Why don't you just update?

Why would it download updates if it didn't first check for them? If it doesn't check for them, it won't know they are there and then automatically grab them from your servers.

I don't want it to automatically check for and download updates.
Sometimes I just need to upload something to my server very quickly and the pop-up informing me of an update and asking me to install it slows me down. I do update. I just want to be able to update when I want to without being bothered.
