First upgrade was to 3.10.0.0, picked up a virus from 3rd party download that knocked out Norton (Ticket #10029), that problem has been resolved, the upgrade to 3.10.0.1. still not working:

I believe to have discovered a bug with the following:

If I access an ftp server in passive mode, that return its internal address instead of the public address after a PASV command, FileZilla with the “Use the server external IP address instead” option selected (under the Passive mode) does exactly that and the connection works (expected behavior).

When FileZilla is setup to use a FTP Generic Proxy (socks 5), that behavior seems to break and I can see in a wireshark trace, FileZilla requesting to the Proxy server to make a connection to the incorrect internal address instead of the external address.

I am not able to connect to the server, filezilla requests confirmation on some not certified server, after to accept it, the directory listing is not complete and the connection fails.

I reverted to 3.9.0.6 and it is working properly.

Just started receiving an error 'The associated command failed' when right clicking a local file to edit once the file had previously been edited opened via FileZilla. I would expect to see the message like "This file is already open for editing..". This behaviour reoccurs without success.

This new version fails to connect to previously accounts set up in Site Manager using version 3.9.0.6 and earlier. Failure is the result of "Server does not support non-ASCI character".

First I open a file to edit, using right mouse click and choose "Edit". Then Notepad (the associated program) opens. When I close Notepad and then again choose "Edit" I get a warning: (translated from Dutch) File can't be opened. The corresponding command has failed.

This happened after I upgraded FileZilla Client to version 3.10.0.

After updating to 3.10.0.1 if i upload a file as root (to centos) the permissions are blanked - just set to dashes - reverting to previous version fixes the issue

installed newest version automatically...3.10....now a certain site we use everyday comes up with encrypted certificate and won't let us connect to it. rolled back to 3.09xxx and the site works fine?

I'm having trouble with editing of files. When I open Filezilla, and edit a file, no trouble. If I close that file in the associated application, then try to edit again through the Filezilla interface, I get an error that reads: "The file myFile could not be opened: The associated command failed."

myFile is the actual path and filename of the file I'm trying to edit.

I'm editing with Notepad++.

If I close Filezilla, and reopen, this error clears, but the process starts over - it only effects re-editing of a file that has already been edited.

Updated to version 3.10.0.1 and after updating I cannot update our business website because it says it not connect to the server. I had no problem updating our website with the previous version which I think was 3.10.0. I checked with the server and the server Tech support says the problem is with File Zilla and not with the server. This is urgent to get fixed as we have wrong information for customers on our website.

I am seeing a recurring issue whereby navigating to a remote folder after initially loading FileZilla client results in the corresponding commands in the command log at the top overwriting the icon toolbar. I have attached a screen capture.

My issue seems to be similar to tickets #9989 and #10025. When the recent update was installed, I could no longer connect to a particular directory on my server. I have numerous directories, however this is the only non SSL directory that I have. I can connect to all my other directories. To isolate the problem as much as possible, I installed a different FTP program, and am able to connect with no problem. Below is the log i get when I try to connect.

When I try to connect with my personal ftp server it give me a error that the certificate expired 7/16/2013 and will not allow me to trust the certificate and give me errors when I connect so I can no longer connect with the FTP server. I have been using this server for years on a daily basis and have never seen this error.

FileZiilla client 3.10.0.1 refuses to connect using (non-secure) FTP. It always requests a TLS connection, making it imipossible to connect to servers that do not support this protocol. Trying to force FTP using ​ftp://hostname does not work.

I updated my program last night and I have not been able to connect to our server since. I am using the same settings and access type as before my update. Each time I try to connect I get two errors.

GnuTLS -15: An unexpected TLS packet was received. Could not connect to server

I haven't changed anything in my credentials or log in information. I am unsure as to why the program will not allow me to log in.

I updated filezilla to latest and cannot connect to half of my servers. This happened to me back in 2013 once but you guys fixed it pretty fast.

When started the debug level is 0. Go to Edit -> Settings... -> Debug section. Change 'Debug information in message log:' drop-down from '0-None' to any other, eg '1-Warning' Click OK. Changes applied then. Bot they are valid only for current instance of the client. If you exit the client and start it again the debug level will revert to 0-None

Also there isn't any key to store the value in %appdata%\FileZilla\filezilla.xml

The issue is reproduced both for fresh installation and for upgrading.

i just updated Filezilla 3.10.0 and now none of my 20 or so website will download any files, it keeps timing out.

I'f there is no quick fix can i some how roll back to the last version?

It won't be anything my end ass my websites are with many different servers and i am a long term user of Filezilla

In version 3.10.0.1 any existing sites defined in site manager are now set to "Use explicit FTP over TLS if available" instead of whatever settings were previously in use. To clear up the issue they must go toe Site Manager and change the encryption back to the previous setting.

This is causing many problems as users can no longer connect to sites that were previously defined and do not support encryption.

I am running Windows 7 64 bit. Here is the information from "about"

Site Manager dropdown list of sits to connect to doesn't scroll nor does it expand sideways into multiple columns. it doesn't fit vertically on my 1440x900 screen. the menu has some sort of disabled control at the top. but I cannot view or select any of the bottom 7 or so items at the bottom of the list. they are not visible and cannot be reached.

This bug is same as Ticket #9542.

Operation steps:

When I set character-set to "Use the custom character-set" [set the value is: GBK] in Site Manager, and re-do the above operations, the "remote site" and the directory-name of the directory-tree are all showed the correct Chinese words.

So.., I guess the issue comes from the function of Auto-Check character-set.

I downloaded the latest version of Filezilla. All of my connections work except the one for the test Sybase Interface Engine. I get this error - Connection attempt failed with "EAI_NODATA - No address associated with nodename".

When I try to overwrite a file (either because I'm uploading a file that already exists on the server, or the other way around), I get the following notification:

After clicking continue (twice), the up/download seems to further work as expected.

I think this was introduced when switching to wxWidgets 3, which was done with FileZilla 3.9.

I am using FileZilla 3.10.0.2 on Arch Linux x86_64, and there is at least one Arch user that has the same problem (​report). There is also a ​report from a Debian user with the same problem, also with FileZilla 3.9.

I have a site, with a bookmark in my site manager. I wish to delete the bookmark but am unable to do so.

After deleting the bookmark, its information is still displayed in the main area of the site manager. If I then click OK to save changes, or if click another site in the list, I get an error message "Site Manager - Invalid Data: You have to enter a hostname", and am unable to do anything else, except hit cancel, and revert the bookmark deletion. All of my other sites do still have valid hostnames, so I am not sure what the error is referring to.

Thus, there is currently no way to just delete a bookmark, without deleting the entire site it is attached to and then readding the site.

Filezilla is opened and a connection is made to my remote server. I CMD-click multiple files and click EDIT (my editor is Text Wrangler on Mac). All appears fine except some of the files are not opened. I re-select one of the files that did not open and click EDIT again which produces "Opening failed. The file <filepath> could not be opened: The associated command failed." Repeated attempts produce the same error.

If I rename the file from Filezilla (and even rename back to the original filename) then Filezilla will properly open the file.

In versions 3.10.0.1 and 3.10.0.2 the programm doesn´t allow to list the directory content in ACTIVE mode. This is the log in 3.10.0.2 versión:

When I try to create a Custom Filetype Association in the settings, FileZilla strips out the space when I try to specify

php "/Applications/Sublime Text.app"

. I get a pop-error window which reads:

BTW, cut'n'Paste is very quirky /and/or not working in this settings dialog as well as the error message window.

...Wait a minit! Now the double quote double back slash does not preserve the space. I swear it did-- Is this related to the cut'n'paste issue? I must be loosing my mind!

I have just installed the latest version of FileZilla. When I attempt 'Site manager - connect' I get error messages: Fails to retrieve directory listing & Not connected to any server.

I've updated to the latest version but now I can't get onto any of my sites because it just keeps timing out.

Apologies if this has already been reported - but I couldn't find anything when I did a search.

Anyway, after the latest Filezilla update to 3.10.0.2, a server I transfer files from has numerous files of over 2GB in size (a PVR with an inbuilt FTP client) - however - should there be a problem and the file needs to be resumed I am told in the message log that "Server does not support resume of files over > 2GB". Prior to the latest Filezilla update, there was no problem transferring files of any size - the server that the files are being transferred from has not had any software changes prior to or after the latest Filezilla update. The previous version of Filezilla that was installed was 3.10.0

Autoupdate works fine except that it places the finished app in the Documents folder. From memory it indicates it will be in the Downloads folder, but really it would be preferable if it went directly into the Applications folder, but would then have to handle replacing the current version or keeping both

When editing a local file trough an external editor 'notepad++' first time it opens the file. Ok after closed the file trying to edit it again will show (filezilla error window) 'Associated command failed'. ​http://grab.by/DVtE It only can be opened again after restarting filezilla or renaming parent folder. Since the last upgrade I can no longer get a directory listing on my websites. I also got a Server Certificate message. My ISP has said other FileZilla users have reported this and that it is related to the Active or Passive setting on FTP Transfer mode :

Looking in FileZilla there seem to be 2 places to set 'Active' or 'Passive', in the Overall Application settings and in the Connection-specific settings.

Loggin in hangs at this point. Looks like people are saying to change an FTP setting in site manager, and that works, but I want to be able to access my 2 sites the old way -- using the quick connect bar.

If this can't be resolved quickly, how can I download the previous working version (people are complaining about the last TWO updates).

I have noticed a problem when I move files from a workstation on the network server, the data transfer will stop frequently when there is no longer one second remaining. This arrest may take up to 90 seconds, but usually shorter period of Time. If I transfer files from the server to the workstation so the same problem does not exist. Why?

Client and server are on the same home network (192.168. ...) And the number of simultaneous users is not.

The local file listing takes about a second per item in the folder to show up when I browse "local" VPN folders. Filezilla is the only program that seems to have this problem browsing my VPN drives. When I browse local or LAN folders the speed is normal.

When I try to connect to my hosting, tries connect and then disconnect me and does not show the file list.

I made the mistake of upgrading the FileZilla client this morning and now I get nothing but errors when attempting to connect to my server and upload files. I get certificate warnings when I connect to the server. I get recurring "421 too many connections..." error messages, followed by "Could not connect to the server". When I can get connected, the process of getting a directory listing from the server is incredibly slow. If I do get a listing, then attempting to upload a file goes nowhere. None of these things was a problem yesterday. So, thanks.

I'm running the server of WinSSHD 5.02 on Windows 7 Pro. After the connection is established, the files/folders retrieved from the server have permission 000 (hence not able to write anything to the server). It was working all fine before upgrading to the latest version of FZ client.

I just downloaded the latest version 3.10.0.2 and it wouldn't work. My ISP worked on the problem for a long while today and finally called to say that the new version doesn't authenticate with a PLESK Web host.

Failed to retrieve directory listing when connecting to my Synology. Version:3.9.0.6 is the last working fine version.

Processor: Intel Core I7 3770k 3.50GHz

Seems that there is an error in the last version 3.10.0.2

When there are 2 or more files to upload in queue, the first file is uploaded successful but the upload of second file and the others fail.

I tested upload the same files using other ftp client (Core FTP - ​http://www.coreftp.com/ ) and all files of queue where uploaded without error.

I have been unable to connect to my usual servers after I updated FileZilla yesterday. It was working fine before the update.

Error message: Connection timed out ... Could not connect to server.

I ran tracer command to see if I could reach the server — and I could. So it's not a machine or external connectivity issue.

Furthermore, I could reach the server and do normal upload functions via FireFTP, which is not my first choice. I definitely prefer FileZilla.

If I download the FileZilla version from the filezilla-project.org website (through Source Forge), that works fine on my computer. That is version is 3.9.0.6. However, when I install it I get a message saying that there's a new version (3.10.0.2). If I upgrade to 3.10.0.2, suddenly FileZilla times out after the MLSD command.

I did some searching around online and found lots of people saying that MLSD timeouts might be because there was a problem with my router. I tried logging on in several different locations with different routers, and I still have the same problem. Not to mention, it works fine using version 3.9.0.6.

I'm at a bit of a loss now and the only solution I've found is to stick with version 3.9.0.6. I'm nervous that there will be another upgrade (beyond 3.10.0.2) that will cause me the same problems, but I will no longer be able to download 3.9.0.6 from the website.

Every time I close FileZilla, I get "File 'C:\Users\Rich\AppData\Roaming\FileZilla\filezilla.xml~' couldn't be removed (error 0: the operation completed successfully.)"

It's mostly a nuisance, but it's unclear to me why this transpires, and error success seems like incorrect behavior.

Hello, please bear with me, I am very much a newbie. I barely know how to upload files, but have been doing that through you for a while and all was going fine until recently when I updated my version of FileZilla. I keep getting error messages, such as "Failed to retrieve directory listing", and can't connect to my website(s)on my main computer. I called GoDaddy for help, and they thought it might be my browser or firewall, but nothing changed and I don't think that's it. Then I tried to upload via my laptop, which had an older version of FileZilla, and it worked fine. I asked my friend who told me about FileZilla a few years ago, and he suggested I report the issue, because maybe no one else has noticed it. I can't imagine that I'd be the only one, but don't know what else to do. Here is the message I've been getting: " Status: Connecting to 160.153.59.0:21... Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message... Status: Initializing TLS... Status: Verifying certificate... Status: TLS connection established. Status: Server does not support non-ASCII characters. Status: Connected Status: Retrieving directory listing... Since version 3.10.0, connections through SFTP always ignore any proxy settings I might have configured. 3.9.6 and older do not.

I've got it configured to use a HTTP proxy, over port 443. The "Bypass Proxy" setting for the connection I use is not checked.

The console shows the following lines (after enabling detailed output):

Response:	fzSftp started
Command:	proxy 1 "proxy.domain.com" 443
Command:	open "user@site.com" 2222

But then it actually does a direct connection instead. I confirmed this by looking at my firewall's network connections view, netstat, and by the fact that I'm no longer speed-limited by the proxy.

I've downgraded until the issue disappeared, and found that the proxy 3.9.6 and older versions do not have this issue.

I assume it's caused by the "Updated SFTP components from PuTTY" change introduced in 3.10.0-beta3, but I might be wrong.

Hello, within search function you have to select "does not contain" in order to find files that "conatin" specific characters within filenames.

therefore you have to select "contain" to find files that does not contain spoecific characters.

Hi, I have noticed an issue with the file sizes on a remote server. Most of the files on the remote end have a size that's the real size of the file minus 4x1024^{3 (4gb). The files are fine on the remote SFTP server but the sizes displayed in FileZilla are wrong. Most of the files are between 4gb and 8gb in size.}

Here's some more information:

• Client: Windows 7 x64 with FileZilla 3.10.0.2 (latest)
• Server: RHEL6.6 server reached/browsed through SFTP.

I tried changing the server type from 'Default (Autodetect)' to 'Unix' but there was no noticeable difference. I also tried using the 'Raw listing' in the debug menu but to no avail.

This makes things a little wacky when resuming a transfer or calculating a transfer duration..

In latest version 3.10, I do not see any directory when connected. I also get a not connected error. I checked the connection from Site Manager and got a notice of an existing connection and whether I wanted to restart etc. The top of the screen show the connection to the proper IP, but the right panel says not Connection.

Went back to previous version with same connection strings and no problem

I updated to the latest version and now I can not load my website. I get a invalid directory listing

I have a customer who owns a website that I take care of. When I updated to 3.10 today I got this popup that said the certification ticket was expired. I have never seen that in the 8 years I have been using FileZilla. I am attaching both the log and a png file of the popup itself.

FZ worked fine. When I accepted to install the upgrade I received the a.m. error message

That's really it. At first, I just thought maybe something was wrong on the website. So to see, I just uninstalled the latest version (FileZilla_3.10.0.2_win32-setup.exe or whatever was the latest as of a day or two ago), and then reinstalled a previous version (which does not have the problem), which is:

This is the error that is displayed:

We are running filezilla 3.7.3 and we have a customer that keeps getting this error when he tries to store files. We have tried a number of things but it randomly crashes. After encountering the error, filezilla shuts down. This is transferring Windows files to Linux based storage system.

I did perform a search and found a similiar bug but not exactly like this one.

Have been using FileZilla. FTP had been working fine. Perhaps last update of FileZilla changed something – They updated yesterday. It does connect, and I do get the file listing at the Remote site. However:

During a file update (upload) I get a message: Response: 150 Opening ASCII mode data connection. Response: 550 The supplied message is incomplete. The signature was not verified. Error: File transfer failed

• If the file to be updated is already at the Remote Site, I will have seen something happening at the Remote Site view of FileZila, then the target file disappears.

• Now if the target file of that name is not there, if I try again, it does upload the desired file … keep in mind, however, that I still get that error message.

This is true with other hosts I am using also.

My webhost website has an alternative, Cyberduck, and the update worked with that, but... I strongly prefer FileZilla interface.

Here is the error message:

Hello FZ team,

This latest build is not quite right. Have never had issues with anything before.

#1 - Constantly have to close and re-launch FileZilla to avoid "couldn't open filename.ext" errors when editing files locally.

#2 - When connecting to server fails there is no error message / indication. It just acts as if you never attempted to connect

On new FileZilla_3.10.1, there is a temp files corruption problem with editing 2 files with same name.

I edit myftp/include/myfile.php I edit myftp/anotherpath/anotherfolder/myfile.php

Filezilla take my second file for my first file and see my first file as modified and ask me to update it on server ...

At the end result myftp/anotherpath/anotherfolder/myfiles.php = myftp/include/myfiles.php

This problem is not present in FileZilla 3.10.0.2 and previous ...

Myfile.php is open as temp file Myfile.php and /anotherfolder/Myfile.php as Myfile2.php
