I store my access information in the Quick Connect tab for each website I have. The problem is File Zilla keeps deleting everything in my Quick Connect tab. I have to go back and re-enter Host, Username and Password each time. Please fix.

Steps: 1) load filezilla 2) Using the quick link to Site Manager I select an FTP site 3) Connect to site by clicking on the name 4) connection starts

• Connection Status starts to scroll
• Status display overwrites the Quick Connect Header area, just under the icon bar.

Steps to date: 1) Discovered it with the last update, 2) downloaded the latest update (see clipboard copy) 3) Tested per steps 1 - 4 above and found the same problem.

Windows 7, 64 Bit, SP 1 installed, updated with the latest MS updates. Installed FileZilla_3.7.1_win32-setup.exe from SourceForge. Started Filezilla and Ftp'd to my NAS. When the connection is established, the quick connect menu is overwritten by the server/client communication.

bug at gui when connecting and scrolling log connection, field host, username, and pass are disappear.

When activating the 'Quick Connect' bar in 'View', it doesn't remain activated on next startup of FileZilla.

Although I limit the socket thread num to 1, by set Menu->Edit->Settings->transfers->max simutaneously transfers to 1, the quick connections cannot reuse the command socket thread. Only if I connect to the site from the site manager, it works. And a similiar thing is the locale. Although the ftp specification requires the server to use utf-8 locale, but old ftp site and ftp server softwares may still use the multi-byte locale. So I think a locale setting for quick connections is necessary.

When entering a server name (DNS name) that contains a space, such as:

"dotnet15.hostbasket.com "

as opposed to

"dotnet15.hostbasket.com"

(without the quotes),

FileZilla will fail to connect.

Since domain names cannot end nor start with spaces, the domain name entered in the textbox ("Address") should be trimmed.

This bug is relevant because addresses may be copied from the web and hence may include spaces (this is how I hitted the bug).

Hi, I am using version 3.6.0.1. There is a GUI issue related to refresh the Quickconnection bar, after the connection to the server has been establish. The refresh doesn't occur. It is done when changing focus to another task then coming back to Filezilla i.e. repaint it (see attached screen copy) Thank you for this so usefull software.

Damn you make this hard. When I installed the latest version, it stopped retaining the port number in quickconnnect. If I try to copy the about box I get an error.

I just tested with the latest stable version on Windows

Please follow these steps:

1. Clear the check of "Quickconnect bar" under menu "View"
2. We can see the quickconnect bar was hidden
3. Click on menu "Edit" -> "Settings..." -> "Language"
4. Choose another language then click "OK"
5. The language changed but the "quickconnect bar" displayed and the check of "Quickconnect bar" under menu "View" still clear
6. If you click the "Quickconnect bar" under menu "View", you will see the "Quickconnect bar" display/hide is opposite with the check status

Using FileZilla 3.9.0.1 on a MacBook Air.

Often, when I intentionally quit the application, an error message says "FileZilla quit unexpectedly".

When trying to delete a directory the command fails

because of the last slash. If I try to delete the directory using Raw command menu and pasting the same command without the slash, it works.

The ftp server is:

I have a local virtual drive (not a windows share, but a clearcase version control view) mapped on my windows machine. FZ 2.2.16 gets into a race condition when I navigate three levels down into this drive, after opening a folder that has ~100 subfolders.

I am getting inconsistent error :

Filezilla randomly skips files when I try to upload. It happens infrequently.

Open Site Manager, click Cancel, Ok (any button) and FileZilla closing

Recently, do not know when it really started, I use it daily. Maybe 5 days ago now, I have Filezilla on the task bar which I hit and it always popped right up. Everything on there pops right up. But recenlty, it can take up to 45 seconds for it to start. Any idea what has happen. It does come up, but takes so long to start, you think you didn't hit the icon, so I hit it again. Then I end up with 2 of them. Any idea what is wrong.This is the only program that is slow like this. I tons of memory, 12 gig, 12 CPU cores, should not be doing that. Do I need to reload it. Do not think this is associated with any recent updates.

The local file listing takes about a second per item in the folder to show up when I browse "local" VPN folders. Filezilla is the only program that seems to have this problem browsing my VPN drives. When I browse local or LAN folders the speed is normal.

When I download a newer version of FileZilla and install it, the following happens:

• It prompts me to uninstall the previous version
• I accept
• It asks me if I want to reboot now
• I accept
• It proceeds to install the new version
• The reboot stops

So ...

• Should the installation of the new version occur when the reboot has been chosen?
• Should the reboot stop when the new version has been installed?

At the moment it doesn't appear to work quite right.

Random instances of uploading using SFTP on a CUSTOM PORT working fine then upon a single or multiple file upload, we receive this message.

We are using iMacs running 10.7 10.8 running latest Filezilla 3.11.0.1 This began happening in previous version.

Generally we have to wait 5-10 minutes or so and after many reconnection/restart attempts we can again upload for a while. Seems to not matter how many or how few people are connected.

PERMISSIONS being set As a side note we are now also seeing files we upload all having no read or write permissions. We have to manually reset permissions. Server is a Dedicated Linux server we have been using in this way for a few years without these issues.

The unix file system that our FTP server runs on allows for some very terribly named files.

Although some FTP programs allow these names, FileZilla seems to have an issue with some.

I fully understand that this is a terrible file name. However, some programs are able to handle it. So I ask, why can't FileZilla? It's way better than anything else!

While transferring files from my files to the files of my server, certain files are failing to transfer.

Basic info, This is a mod for our ARK server hosted by PingPerfect. This mod is already installed, these files are attempting to overwrite the existing ones as well as downloading new files from the update. The issue only appears on certain files.

Other admins/moderators have attempted to resolve this issue by doing the update themselves and it has worked without issue. They also use the FileZilla client, there were no failed transfers on the same mod with the exact same update. I have done two other mod updates within the last three days without issue.

It is the same the entire way up, only 34 files successfully transferred and 501 files that failed.

Recently I found out that Filezilla saves the passwords of recent visited servers in an unencrypted file: recentservers.xml

Making it really easy to steal the passwords as soon if you have access to the computer.

This is in my eyes a security threat that should be taken care of.

PS: a little thanks to "Smash" who told me of this bug on the forum of my hoster.

I use Filezilla 3.2.7.1 with Windows XP with IE.

Reconnect and QuickConnect have not been working since I upgraded to later versions about 2 versions back. I upgraded again today to the latest version, but no matter what I do, the Reconnect functionality will not work, nor does the Quickconnect functionality. It also does not store history for Quickconnect.

The reconnect button on version 3.3.4.1 is not working

Running Windows XP SP3 on HP m7250n media center desktop. Using Dialup on internal modem. Attempting to transmit 15-17 meg files and receiving server times out after 15 minutes of perceived no activity, including sending data to it. On previous version I was able to restart the download by clicking on the "R" at the top of the screen. With this version, the "R" remains grayed out all the time, and clicking it has no effect. I have had to resort to clicking "Process Queue" twice to get the program to reconnect to the receiving server and continue the transfer. Any other action results in a restart of sending the file, and overwriting what was there before rather than appending the new material to the end of the all ready received file.

I've always had the problem described in Ticket #3126 when connecting to ftpperso.free.fr. Contrary to what's written in ticket #3126, the problem is not fixed in recent versions of FileZilla. Worse still, this causes numerous timeouts, and/or disconnections from that server (Which hosts all user home pages of the most popular ISP in France). This is really annoying to have to click the [R] button to reconnect every time.

I am getting recurring file open errors for local files that have been opened once already.

I was not getting these in the prior version.

Delete all ver of fillezilla and installed ver 3.18 and got same result of saying new ver 3.18 available. The fillezilla.exe file is ver 3.17.0.1 in the 3.18 download install package...please advise

When i have connection with my domain hosting and something has changed on the server side, by that i mean a new folder or a new file, i cannot see this in FileZilla. Even when I press F5, the local maps are beiing refreshed but the remote maps stay as the are. Likt it is beiing refreshed from a cache file ore something. To see the 'fresh' content on the remote folder i have to disconnect and reconnect.

Wen I press the 'Refresh the file and folder lists' button for a connection where I have configured a 'default local directory', the file browser for the local side changes to display that folder. I usually do not want that, but just to reload the remote side and stay in the same directory locally.

Issue:

Upon pressing the refresh button or F5 with an active connection, FileZilla stops responding. This was _not_ occurring in the previous release.

Steps to reproduce (method 1):

1) Connect via ftp/sftp to a server. 3) press 'F5' key. 4) FileZilla instance freezes and must be forcefully ended.

After experiencing the problem once I disabled the Application Layer Gateway Service as mentioned in the notice at startup of FileZilla. However, disabling this service does not seem to fix it.

filezilla.exe after pressing refresh or F5 staying at about 50% CPU usage. roughly 70-80% of CPU1. CPU0 staying at about 20-30%.

Alwasy when I am uploading something to my server it does not show in the right side box (remote site:). It only appears when I click "REFRESH" seems it is not automatic have to do it manually.

Even in the left side box (local site:) it is not refreshing automatically. i have to do it manually to show the update on the left side box.

I've updated a local file and even after hitting f5, right click and 'refresh' and closing and reopening filezilla, it's caching the old version of the file. I've checked in file explorer and it's seeing the new version, but filezilla is trapped in the past!

The only way I can upload my new file is to save it in a different location on my harddrive and then upload it.

I just downloaded the server and client and found this bug. I created a site with a simple password and added a home directory to test. Then I connected from other server with the client 3.1.5, after checking it was OK I disconnected leaving open the client. I then went to the server and changed the user's home directory then reconnected but the client listed the old directory's content. I disconnected and tried to connect again with the same results. It listed the real content only after I closed the client and launched it again. I recreated the site several times making the same steps and it always happens. The original site was made on two HP Proliant 370 Servers with Intel Xeon 3.6Ghz using Win2003 R2 SP2. The last tests were made on my PC a HP Compaq dc5750 SFF with an AMD 4200+ 64 X2 using WinXP SP3.

To refresh the client window (of files and dirs), the program currently supports only the F5 command key, but those F1-F12 keys are gradually being phased out by laptop makers. In most apps nowadays, the new standard is Ctrl+R to refresh a window. FileZilla should allow the use of Ctrl+R to refresh the window.

I use Filezilla few years. And for these years you still didn't fix this annoying bug: I use layout: Widescreen I use Position of a message log: Above the file list. I use Windows 7 and Windows XP (bug is visible on both). With these settings 'Quickconnect bar' is not refreshed properly during use when new messages are arriving to log (see screen attached, it is hardly visible in the screen, log messages overwrites it). This gives bad GUI experience to the user.

While connecting to SFTP we are facing an error in login. Error 'Could not get reply from fzputtygen'. Please help me in troubleshooting the error

The silent installation mode is used for deployments to hundred or thousand machines with tools like SMS/SCCM, Tivoli, etc.

Example : FileZilla_3.1.5_win32-setup.exe /S /user=all

But currently when there is an installation error, the installation script displays a message box like "Unsupported operating system...", "Cannot install for all users...", etc.

The problem is that with this kind of deployment the user cannot even see the dialog box because the installation is made through the network in a "no-display" context, wether or not the user is logged on. So the installation process is stuck until the next reboot and the failure is not detected by the deployment tool.

I am not an NSIS expert but it seems that adding "/SD IDOK" or "/SD IDNO" to each "MessageBox" line in the installation script would fix the problem.

It would be nice also to always create an installation log file so that installation errors could be easily managed.

Since updating to the latest FileZilla, I am unable to use regular expressions with quick search. In the past, I would search for files using RegEx like so: 18121[7-9]|18122[0-3] This would filter all files with names except 181217 through 181223. Now when I try this, no files are shown. Thanks for any help.

The latest version of FileZilla constantly freezes during use. It will become unresponsive for a minute or so, not responding to any input, including attempting to close it. It is responsive enough to close down immediately if told to by Task Manager. After 30 seconds or a minute it comes back to life again. I cannot find any particular pattern to when it freezes, but it is very regular and very frustrating. This has not occurred before I upgraded to the latest version.

Currently, everytime you start the app (v3.0.0) it repositions the windows to the default.

For instance, with the 'classic' layout, I need to resize the directory listings because, compared to the 'local site' and 'remote site' frames, the directory listings are much to small. However next time I restart Filezilla, these positions are reset.

In previous versions, there was a settings option for remembering window positions. This should be reintroduced.

In the previous build of Filezilla Client, it remembered what the local site last preference was (ie: sort by Modified) It does not do it now but it still remembers the last preference of the Remote Site.

I just updated to version 3.0.7 from the most recent prevoious release and noticed a minor bug. After renaming a remote file, the remote site directory listing does not refresh. The impression is that the file rename failed - but that is not the case. Pressing F5 to manually refresh the directory shows that the rename did in fact, succeed.

Previous version did not have this bug. After renaming a file, the remote directory listing would automatically refresh to show the new file name.

On OSX, when I click and drag a file between folders on the same remote server, the green plus sign icon appears above the cursor.

In the OSX vernacular, this suggests that the file will be copied, i.e. a copy of the file will remain in the source location. For example, in Finder, when moving files between local folders, clicking and dragging moves a file, whereas pressing the option key while clicking and dragging causes the green plus sign icon to appear and a copy of the file will be moved to the new location, leaving the original file in the original location.

Instead of copying the file as the green plus sign suggests, clicking and dragging causes FileZilla to move the file and not retain it in the original location.

This could lead users to believe that they have copied a file when in fact they have moved it.

Therefore, this copy icon should not appear.

I got this error when i tried to remote edit a file.

The remote site list window is only showing the first two folders that are available on the FTP site. I can get to the other folders if I type them in the text box but they are not available to select. Looking at the ftp site thru the windows FTP program shows all of the available folders.

I connect daily to a server and download files that are created daily. For the last week or so I have noticed that the remote site file dates do not refresh. It does not matter if I click the refresh button, shut down FileZilla and reconnect the remote site window file dates do not change. If I go to the server via other means I can see clearly that the date is the current date so FileZilla is not picking up the new file dates. The file names are always the same only the size and creation date are changed. I read through previous and did not see any tickets reporting this specific bug.

When starting Filezilla, the local site shows both the file view and the local treeview, but the remote site shows only the file view. I select View | Remote Treeview, and the remote tree view pane is shown. When I close Filezilla and open it again, the remote treeview is no longer shown.

This manifests itself in the Windows version, v2.2.16.

These two toggles (Remote and Local Directory Tree Toggle) are located in the top bar under the Main Menu Bar. They both have a weird behavior. Both were OFF upon start.

The weird behavior appears as soon as the tabbed interface is activated or a little later on while using it.

This behavior is characterized by:

• Clicking the button indents it (visual active state) but the panels for remote directory/local directory tree do not appear.
• The buttons do not respond to any further requests once in this state.

I am using the latest version of filezilla (updated 10 min ago.)

I have restarted filezilla and the buttons work again until I create a new tab. Unless now only the "remote directory tree" is affected by the bug. The local directory switch works properly. Then I create a new tab once again and both toggles work properly again. Then again I leave one tab open (the tab-panel disappears) and create a new tab - the problems appear again.

Truly a strange thing.

After uploading 2 files (simultaneous upload limit), the remote connection becomes unresponsive. My upload queue is stuck on "transferring" the next two files. When I cancel the uploads and try again, they are stuck on "transferring" again.

I've got an Ethernet storage device (Western Digital) which is so slow at loading the file list in FileZilla.

Comparing it to other FTP software, they load the list super fast. You can see a performance decrease on other software compared to your computer hard drive, but I would expect that with anything that's remote based.

On my screen I could wait up to 10 seconds before I can do anything as when using the local site explorer for a remote device freezes any other action taking place on FileZilla until the list has loaded.

It's fairly quicker when it's just listing folders but you can still see a performance decrease and a 'freeze'.

After manually entering CWD command (Server menu), the remote directory doesn't refresh.

Usually, this is not a problem, however in some specific it is: When logging in to the university Novel server via FTP, I need to change the server path (CWD MAF/). There is no other way besides the "manual" one, since I cannot get to the highest directory level where the servers are one next to other.

When using SFTP (SSH2) to connect to an OpenVMS 7 system using HP's SSH and FTP implementations, FileZilla does not display any items in the remote site location. Traces show that FileZilla is getting the file and directory listings, but they are not displayed in the Remote Site column.

When dragging a file from the remote pane to the desktop, the position of the icon of the file being copied should be set according to the location of the mouse cursor at the point that the mouse button was released.

Instead, the icon is simply placed into the next available position automatically by Explorer.

Note that this does not happen when dragging a file from the local pane to the desktop: this does place the icon exactly where it was dropped. Only the remote pane is affected.

As an example, imagine you have two displays, with display 1 as the primary, and FileZilla on this display. Should you drag one local file and one remote file to display 2, the local file will be deposited exactly where you dropped it, but the remote file will be placed automatically by Explorer and will be behind the FileZilla window, somewhere amongst your other icons.

This did affect XP (some old version of FileZilla), and it's still present in the latest FileZilla 64-bit in Windows 10 (3.21.0).

After upgrading to 3.10.1.1 experienced a problem with editing file with the same name. As far as I can see it's a know issue which should be fixed with this relase, but it is not.

Downgrading to 3.10.0.2 fixed the issue.

SFTP to remote has incorrect filedates and times (most all around 1969) Server is CoreFTP. Other clients that display correctly are FireFTP, WSftp Pro, etc. Tested from numerous locations & computers, and several 3.x versions.

Using FileZilla 3.1.6 When logging in to cpanel account FZ fails to list more than 1998 files. Unable to select more than the 1998 files to delete from a directory. I have to select all 1998, delete, then exit the folder, go back in, and the rest of the files show up.

This happens on both Mac and Windows versions.

This bug may be identical to bug# 1338012, but since it is reported there for version 2.2.17 only I created this ticket.

In version 2.2.18 the remote file list hangs after a while (there is only the error "pling" sound, when a directory not listed before is clicked). When debug mode is switched on, the onscreen log shows

"SftpControlSocket.cpp(2596): OnReceive(0) Caller=0x003fd1a4" (or some other value)

looping forever. In this case the GUI does not react any longer, I have to kill Filezilla via the task manager. I checked the server's sshd_config for the entries named in bug# 1338012:

In 3.3.4-rc1 when I click on the remote file or right click and select view/edit
the file downloads to the temporary folder
but the editor does not open with the file and the files being edited table does not get updated.

I tested remote file search on last version 3.3.4.1. I tried search "filename", "contains" and "20827" (searched string). It tried search, but it didnot search any files contains "20827" in filename.

When clicking on a file in the result of my search I normally get two options: Download or Delete - but when clicking one of them - the sub-window does not open. There is no action at all.

My server is 5 hours behind my local time so I have the timezone offset in FZ preferences set to +5:00 but in FZ 2.2.15 the times are wrong. If I don't offset then FZ shows the correct file times for the server's local time.

But... If I also offset by any number of minutes then the times become correct!

My workaround at the moment is to offset by 5:01.

When connecting to ftp.sunet.se and going into, for example: /pub/Linux/distributions/ubuntu/ubuntu-cd/feisty/

I get a list of .iso-files listed as directories by FZ. Because of this I cannot download them since it tries to cd into the files. I've attached a log file containing the output from a refresh. It seems to misunderstand the symlinks. Using 3.0b8 on WinXP SP2.

Running FileZilla client on Windows 10. Accessing a Toshiba 4690 OS system. A file that should have existed was not being shown in FileZilla. I signed on to the 4690 OS system via Telnet and saw that the file size was listed as 4294967295 (which is effectively "-1"). I don't know what that really means, other than "big". I used the built-in Windows 10 FTP client to connect to the 4690 OS system and it showed those files having a size of -1. They were log files and had grown huge. I had to delete them and unfortunately I didn't upgrade to latest FileZilla (I'm running 3.50.0), nor did I enable additional logging to see what FileZilla might have displayed.

If you want to select files on the remote folder and press down mouse button and move the mouse up or down to select files, the mouse cursor jumps to the very bottom right edge of the screen. This bug only appears if I use FileZilla on a second screen and only in the remote file list.

The values listed on Remote Site combo box are not saved after disconnecting and are lost.

Remote site file panel couldn't count files more then 9998. If there are more files it is shows always 9998.

When you delete a directory from a FTP-server the remote window doesn't refresh and the deleted directory still remains on the directory-tree.

So i have reinstalled filezilla twice because i thought that could fix my issue. Not.

Im using the blackboard theme with multiple tabs for remote servers. The issues is when opening the client all windows tabs are sized to the previous use. Perfect. BUT upon opening a new server in a new tab the remote site window fills the entire right side. It ignores the window size i have set. This is really annoying because when connecting to allot of servers, you need to manually resize the remove site window again, and again, and again....

Navigating a remote view using the listing pane doesn't properly update the treeview.

Running version 3.0.1 on Win XP Pro SP3. When I try to sort by date for the remote site I am connected to it does not sort properly either ascending or descending. All the dates and times are mixed up. This occurs on multiple sites.

Version 2.2.26a on Win XP Pro SP2 connecting to Solaris 9 via SFTP

When I connect to different sites toggles the remote window during download to the content of the previous site (looks like cached). To get the original content I need to reload the remote window.

e.g. 1st site --> remote window: ABC download ABC 2nd site --> remote window: XYZ download XYZ, remote window displays ABC.

I can only use SFTP, hence not tested with "normal" FTP.

After upgrading to FileZilla Client 3.20.0 when downloading a file name can not rewrite

It seems that Filezilla is not able to rename a file twice that is located on an Mac OS XSan (1.3) Volume. It also seems that filezilla cannot delete a file after it has been renamed.

Initial file name was test.php. After renaming it once to test2.php any further attempts to rename or delete the file errored out. I tries closing the restarting the application but the results were the same. Seems like there is some strange file name caching happening somewhere in the interaction.(please note that I have shortened the paths for read-ability)

Tests with other sftp clients (Winscp382 and Tunnelier) seem to indicate that this is an Xsan-Filezilla specific issue. Rename and Delete operations worked normally on other non-Xsan volumes on the server (i.e:/var/tmp/). I will try to update Xsan today (version 1.4) to see if it resolves the issue. Just thought you might want a heads up.

Maybe once in every 5-10 times I rename a file, I will lose the ability to select/highlight, etc. the files in either the remote or local pane. At this point, Filezilla becomes unusable. The only way to recover is to relaunch the program or to disconnect and then reconnect.

This issue may have started with Filezilla version 3.

My code generated bad format files during upload process. When I tried to rename them trough FileZilla (right click, rename)

When you try to rename something while already in rename mode, the client crashes.

e.g. When you're browsing files in the file list, whether local or online, it's possible to click a file and then click it again to rename it,

but right before the filename gets selected and 'rename mode' is entered, it's possible to right-click the file and get the normal context menu.

By then clicking 'Rename', the client crashes.

Screenshots:

When downloading a file from server to local directory and the filename already exists, selecting the 'Rename' option displays a pop-up and allows a new file name to be entered.

However when submitting that new file name input by hitting 'Enter' or clicking on 'OK' to download using the new file name, no download occurs and the 'Target file already exists' window pops up again.

Essentially this function which has worked for years is now experiencing a bug issue in that it does not register the new file name and therefore does not download a renamed file.

Conversely though, when uploading a local file to the server, the Rename tool works as expected.

What happens: The text-area from the file rename is keep open when the folder is switched and remains active. What is expected: FileZilla should cancel the rename and hide the text-area when switching folders.

When connected to a remote host site, I tried to rename a file there. After I corrected the filename there (renamed it), I hit return to confirm the edit. The connection then aborted. Let's say you have file a.php, b.php and c.php. You upload a new copy of a.php to a server. If you rename c.php to c2.php while the upload is waiting to begin (or possibly taking place), b.php (the file above it) will get rename to c2.php instead once the transfer completes. c.php will still exist.

If you rename a file on the server to another file that already exists in the same directory, then on the server the renamed file overwrites the file that originally had that name (which is fine) but then filezilla shows two files with the same name. For example a directory might contain:

main.php index.php

if you renamed main.php to index.php, index.php will be overwritten by main.php but filezilla shows:

index.php index.php

while it should show:

index.php

This is not a server side issue. Refreshing fixes the problem.

When I try to rename local file to name that already exists, it overrides that file.

Example: I have 2 files test test1 renaming test1 to test replace test file without warning.

Trying the same on remote server throws alert saying filename already exists, what is good.

I did it again.

Actually, I was wrong saying that renaming the remote file did freeze the computer. It only crashed Filezilla, but everything got very slow for 2 or 3 minutes. I did set the debug on verbose, but couldn't get any indication, and after the crash of Filezilla, nothing seems to remain.

This time, I did upload a file, then right-clicked to rename : it crashed.

After that, I disconnected / reconnected my computer to the distant server, then only tried to rename the file that was on it (right-click). It crashed Filezilla all the same.

When you first said that the "issue had been fixed", was it about that ? (before "ooops, wrong button" ?)

If yes, do you have an idea about the time I'll have to wait for the next version (roughly, one week, one month, more ?).

Ftp to any server in a folder with more then let's say 5 files.

Clic on the first file, press F2. Press the down arrow, and press F2 again. Press the down arrow, and press F2 again. Press the down arrow, and press F2 again.

Then double clic on the ".." folder to go to the parent folder. See any problems? :)

Can I follow up on the closed case #12102 please. I consulted with my sftp server vendor re the issues you found in the case - primarily your finding that the window being opened was too big and that the Filezilla client was waiting for a long time to do something.

Your reply seems to say that it is the server setting the windows so large and that the upload should start immediately. They are saying it is FileZilla setting the windows so large and that they are waiting for the client to something.

So their questions are:

1. Why is the setting of the window to be so large (2GB?) a problem and
2. Is Filezilla expecting some sort of a response from the server once all the key exchange etc. has completed before starting to upload?

They are quite keen to resolve the issue with you. It is only manifesting with FileZilla - other Putty based clients (WinSCP) seem OK. Indeed Cerberus with other clients is fine and FileZilla with other servers is fine - it just seems to be the combination of the two having the issue.

To reproduce: Right mouse click on a column heading in either the local or remote file pane. The "Column setup" dialog is displayed. Select (highlight) a column, then click either the "Move up" or "Move down" button. Click "OK" then view the pane. The column headings will have changed order BUT NOT the content.

For example, if the order was 'Filename,Filesize,Filetype,Last modified' and you move 'Filetype' up, you will see a column heading of 'Filetype' with numbers beneath, and a column heading of 'Filesize' but the column contents are type names such as "zip file" or "batch file".
