#3228 | remote symlinks displayed as "folder" | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
if a file on the remote server is actually a symbolic link, it is displayed as a directory: the directory icon and filetype "Folder". doubleclicking on one of these remote symlinks then attempts to get a directory listing of that file and unsurprisingly fails. however, putting functions flawlessly (the target of the symlink is updated). i haven't tested getting as far as i know. this is filezilla 3.0.0 (binary downloaded by filezilla 3 beta's update function) on fedora core 6 <tremby@tremendo:~>$ uname -a Linux tremendo 2.6.22.4-45.fc6 #1 SMP Tue Aug 21 18:29:10 EDT 2007 i686 athlon i386 GNU/Linux |

#3235 | Server-Path in address-bar not correct after copying files. | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
When copying several subfolders, filezilla always sows the content of these folders for a moment. After having shown the last subfolder, one again sees the "beginning-folder" at the top (all this on on the server-side). But the address-bar for the server still displays the name of the subfolder the last files were copied from. This is a bit confusing. (Opening another folder finally corrects the path displayed.) |

On my Mac OS X system, (details follows):
The main window is constantly jumping off the screen. #3246 | Remember frame positions | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
Currently, everytime you start the app (v3.0.0) it repositions the windows to the default. For instance, with the 'classic' layout, I need to resize the directory listings because, compared to the 'local site' and 'remote site' frames, the directory listings are much to small. However next time I restart Filezilla, these positions are reset. In previous versions, there was a settings option for remembering window positions. This should be reintroduced. |

#3247 | Display of connected-to server | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
Nowhere on the interface, once you've connected to a server, does it actually display which server you are connected to. Not the menu bar or anywhere within the window itself. In the list of queued files and failed / successful transfers, there is a server history of sorts, but this doesn't help to determine where you are currently connected if you are switching between many different servers over a period of time. |

#3272 | No confirm for delete in folder view | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
If you try to delete a folder by right click -> delete in the remote folder window (e.g. the upper right) it won't ask for confirmation. If you do the same in the normal windows (e.g lower right) FileZilla asks if you really want to delete the file/folder(s). This happens in FileZilla 3.0.0 and 3.0.1 on Ubuntu GNU/Linux. I haven't tested it on other versions/platforms. |

Hi, I noticed a strange bug in Filezilla 3.0.1. I use this tool for up- and downloading files to a USB stick attached to my WLAN router. During an upload of a ~120 MB file the log tells me that it got disconnected from the server, but the upload still went on (see screenshot). I couldn't find logs, if you tell me where to find them I will send them. My OS is Windows XP Pro + SP 2(German). |

#3277 | Background color of various areas gray instead of white | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
FileZilla version: 3.0.1, as downloaded for GNU/Linux in binary form from SourceForge, installed manually OS: SuSE Linux 10.1 Architecture: AMD64 Hi, First of all, thanks for having ported my favorite FTP program (FileZilla of course ;o) ) to my favorite operating system (Gnu/Linux)!!! As for the bug : FileZilla 3.0.1 displays the local and remote site directory tree and file areas, as well as the transfer queue area with a gray background instead of a white one. The message log on the other hand gets displayed with a white background, and the background of the icons of the remote directory tree is white as well, so I presume this is a (minor) bug. It would be great if this could be fixed in a future release of FileZilla!

#3279 | Quick connection doesn't resue command socket thread | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
Although I limit the socket thread num to 1, by set Menu->Edit->Settings->transfers->max simutaneously transfers to 1, the quick connections cannot reuse the command socket thread. Only if I connect to the site from the site manager, it works. And a similiar thing is the locale. Although the ftp specification requires the server to use utf-8 locale, but old ftp site and ftp server softwares may still use the multi-byte locale. So I think a locale setting for quick connections is necessary. |

#3281 | xml file error with too many tasks | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
when trying to delete too many files from the ftp server (like 11.000) the programs first gives an error message about the xml file ( I don't remember what it says but probably because the xml file can't write all those actions),then it gives another error, after clicking OK on those messages the programs continues to work normally but it's really annoying because you have to watch it and click ok everytime otherwise the tasks won't be executed. |

#3282 | fzsftp uses PuTTy's settings. | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
The fzsftp.exe bundled with the Windows binary of FileZilla uses the registry keys of PuTTy's Default Settings configuration. If you have set a default hostname or IP address in PuTTY, FileZilla cannot connect. Also if you are trying to connect to server that only allows private key as authorization, you won't be able to connect in FileZilla. You'll need to set a key in the default settings of PuTTy. These two programs dependencies needs to be split. |

#3293 | main window jumps down to the right when opening site manage | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
OS X 10.4.10 Filezilla 3.0.1 When open the site manager the main window jumps drastically down to the right so each time after I open the site manager I need to drag the main window back to a useable location. If I open the site manager, close it and reopen it without ever adjusting the primary windows position, it will have jumped completely off the screen and can no longer even be seen. FWIW, I was using many of the different Beta versions prior to the GM, and didn't have this issue in any of the Beta versions... |

#3294 | Queue duplicates | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
FZ 3.0.1*; Win XP Pro SP2 Transfer queue shows duplicate of last file at bottom, though it only uploads each file once. See attached log and screenshot. *3.0.2 came out as I was typing but probably suffers same issue (not fixed in release notes); I will confirm later. |

#3298 | Dutch warning when on Win2003 | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
Hi, don't know if this is the correct place. When I start FZ 3.0.2.1 on my Win 2003 server I get a warning. That warning contains an error in the last sentence. At least in the Dutch translation, maybe as well in other languages. It says translated "only when you deactivate either the firewall or the application layer service then you will experience time-outs". It should probably read "only when you deactivate either the firewall or the application layer service then you will NOT experience time-outs". The correct sentence in Dutch for that is " Alleen wanneer je of de Windows Firewall uitschakelt of de Application Layer Gateway uitschakelt, dan zal FileZilla geen timeout hebben bij grote overdrachten". |

#3299 | Problems with files with accents in name | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
Hi, It appears that files with iso 8859-1 accented characters (uploaded for instance by a Windows version of FileZilla) program are not shown in the Linux version of FileZilla 3.0.2.1 if the charset encoding is set to "Autodetect" or "Force UTF-8". I tested this amongst others with a file called "LÃ .txt" that I uploaded with FileZilla 3.0.2.1 on a Windows machine with the charset option set to "Autodetect". The file does not show up in FileZilla 3.0.2.1 under SuSE Linux 10.1 on a x86_64 machine (I use the FileZilla binaries created by the FileZilla project), unless I use the custom charset "iso8859-1". I would expect FileZilla to list all files (except for hidden files if FileZilla is not configured to show them, of course), independent of the charset settings, the charset setting should only affect the way their names are displayed.

#3304 | flashing tooltips | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
Filezilla client, Windows version 3.0.2.1, from downloaded installer exe, on WinXP SP2. On my computer, the tooltips for the QuickConnect host and port input fields 'flash'. This may be because the tooltip is placed under or nearly under the cursor. However, the tooltip will occasionally display correctly if the cursor is placed very close to the left edge of the input field, or is moved to the left during the, mmm, 1/4 second the tooltip appears. Nothing appears in the message log with debug=3. |

#3327 | File Listing / transfer | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
This is probably two bugs, but here ya go. I'm using ver. 3.0.3. It does not list new files after upload. I can choose another directory and then go back to it but it does not reload the directory, thus I do not see the new file. Also, after transfering a bunch of files (I'm compiling a new website so I transfer as many as 100 files over the course of an hour), it stops uploading anything. I have to completely close the program and restart. Thanks |

#3331 | Checkbox logic of "Always" actions if Target already exists | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
Transferring a file with the same name as one existing at the destination will trigger the "Target file already exist" dialog. In that dialog, there are three check boxes: Always use this action Apply to current queue only Apply only to downloads I think that when the user clicks one of check boxes 2-3, checkbox #1 should also become selected. In Filezilla 3.0.4, this doesn't happen, and checking #2 or #3 without checking #1 has no effect on subsequent items in the queue. |

But, when i change the hours and i check the server-time, i edit the minutes and not the hours. When i change the minutes, i see no changes. Sorry, for my bad english.... Description |
FTP keepalive function only work for 30 minutes. If really no any action by user, after 30 minutes, FZ3 will stop to send keepalive command. I check the code in CFtpControlSocket::StartKeepaliveTimer(), it will check the value of m_lastCommandCompletionTime, but m_lastCommandCompletionTime won't be update for keepalive command, so it will stop after 30 minutes. Is this a bug or just by design? |

#3336 | Upload stops when uploading lots of files | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
Hello, Yesterday I've upgraded to latest version of Filezilla Client (3.0.4.1) and I've found a bug: When I was uploading nearly 600 files (a backup), filezilla stopped uploading files, there were two files "Uploading" but nothing happened. I tried to re-connect to the server and it didn't upload any more file. I had to restart FileZilla. I've tried to do it in 2 different servers and with different files but it's almost impossible do a massive upload... I've been using filezilla since it was 1.x (I don't remember which exactly) but it never happened this... Regards |

#3340 | Prefix search fails with numpad keys, umlauts and others | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
Using 3.0.4.1 on WinXP Pro. Behavior in FZ2 was that when focus is on Remote Site panel or Local Site panel, user could start typing using the 10-key portion of the keyboard, and the focus would narrow to folders matching user input. This still works using the primary keyboard area and number row, but not using 10-key. Expected behavior - any keyboard input while focus is on either Remote or Local Site panels would search/focus on folders/files matching user input. (Sorry if my jargon is off, this is the first bug/feature ever submitted.) |

Description |
OS: Windows XP Pro SP2 FZ client: 3.0.4.1 It is possible to get the interface to show duplicate drive letters in the "Local site" directory listing (not the tree view, in the actual file list).
There should now be a duplicate drive letter shown in the directory listing for the local machine. On my machine this is reproducible 100% of the time. There is no log information to post for this. Additionally, minimizing FZ and maximizing again will sometimes cause a different drive letter to show up duplicated. Thanks for the great work on FZ! |

Description |
In v3.0.4.1, the "View" Category is missing from the menu, specifically, there does not appear to be a way to refresh the view. #3346 | Check for compiler version only works with gcc | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
In the configure script shipped with FileZilla 3.0.4, line 19659 reads:
However, most non-gcc compilers don't have a --version flag, so this results in "Unknown version" being displayed in the "About FileZilla" dialogue box if $CC != gcc. For HP-UX 11.11, the closest I could get for HP's ANSI C compiler was:
But then the same command on HP-UX 11.23 and 11.31 doesn't work (the output from 'what /usr/bin/cc' is completely different - there isn't even a line with a 'Compiler' string in it...). I don't know what the solution to this is - my gut feeling is that, say, Sun's own C compiler on Solaris might have similar issues. Maybe it's best just to not include the compiler version and do a "uname -a" or something similar and have it as "Build system: " line. |

#3354 | Queue window lists wrong filenames | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
The queue window doesn't list correct file names once queue processing has started and multiple files are being processed. The screenshot attached shows three files that wait to be downloaded from a remote host. If Queue processing is enabled via the context menu, the display changes. The last file is displayed twice, the one before it is not displayed anymore. This changes when one actually selects the second file, in that case the list display is refreshed with the correct information. It has nothing to do with multiple threads - for creating the screenshots I just used a single thread for simplicity. This is a redraw problem only - the files downloaded are always the ones that were selected for download in the first place. FileZilla version used: 3.0.4.1 OS used: Windows XP Prof. SP2 |

#3379 | Action after queue completion "shutdown" does not work | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
I have FileZilla 3.0.5.2, and I chose for it to shutdown on queue completion (right-click in the queue, action after queue completion, shutdown system), and when the queue completes successfully a box appears saying "system will soon shutdown unless" and a progress bar, which increases. There's a skip and a cancel button. If I leave it for the progress bar to reach the end, the window disappears, but the system does not shut down. No messages are listed in the status box at the top of the window regarding this error (where the connection and transfer messages go -- is that the only place to get this log?). If I try again, and choose "skip" instead, still nothing happens, but the progress bar window goes away. If there's any more information you need from me, please let me know. I'm using Windows XP SP2. I believe the log you want is attached -- please let me know if this is not the case. Kind regards, Jonathan |

#3380 | keyboard navigation does not work in directory trees | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
When the focus is in the file list (local or remote), when I type a letter (for example "i") the filename selection (or focus ?) goes to the next directory or filename which begins with the typed letter (for example "index.html"). Intuitively, it should work the same way in the "directory trees" (local or remote), but it does not. I remember it worked in Filezilla 2 versions. |

#3384 | Symbolic Links not handled correctly | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
In FileZilla version 3.0.5.2, symbolic links on a remote FTP server are treated as folders in Filezilla. This causes you to be unable to download that file. Other FTP clients and a prior version of Filezilla (Version 2.2.32) did allow for the client to follow the symlink and download the file. This only appears to be the case when dealing with symbolic links to files. Symbolic links to directories are handled correctly. |

#3394 | "Too many connections" wrongly marked "Failed Transfer" | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
I set my "Maximum simultaneous transfers" to 8, the max my server can handle. However, for some reason a connection or two has been opened and not closed by Filezilla (probably another bug). At this point there are 6 existing hung connections, leaving me with 2 that should transfer. However, when I try to transfer a queue of files, two slots are used correctly, and any other files that try to use the other 6 connections get "421 Too many connections (8) from this IP", and are marked as "Failed Transfers". However, this is incorrect; they are not failed, there are simply not enough connections to transfer the files concurrently. This is the same situation if I then transfer files to another server that only handles 4 simultaneous connections. That means that any files using the 4 connections will succeed, but any that are *attempted* using the other 4 connections will be marked as "Failed Transfer", instead of simply waiting in the queue longer. This means I have to set the "Maximum simultaneous transfers" manually for *every* server I use, and then I have to keep an eye on the Failed Transfers log for any wrongly marked failures. Ideally, when filezilla gets the "421: too many connections" error while transferring more than one file at a time, it would simply keep that file on the queue and wait for the next available connection. This way a given max connections can be specified (say, 6) and if a server doesn't support that many the situation will be handled gracefully (all files will transfer, the max supported connections will be used) instead of how it is now (some files transfer, some don't). I have a verbose debug log available, if needed. Thanks! |

Description |
Filezilla 3.0.7.1. On a Microsoft FTP Server, using passive mode, when I upload files, they may be reported by FileZilla as "Successfull transfers", but they are truncated. It happened to us with both small (as in <1Kb) files and bigger (around 25MB) files. Binary or ascii tranfers behave the same. It also happens with XP Pro or Vista business. The server timeouts the main connections, but not the tranfer connections. Anyway, it seems to have stopped happening when we added the "Send FTP Keep Alive" option. |

#3418 | Linux configure issue for Filezilla 3.0.7.1 | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
Hi All, The --prefix option for configure seems to be ignored when searching for idna.h, I have most programs installed in a non standard location as I do not have root access so I point prefix to the base location for my installs. This usually works, but not for Filezilla, to work around this I did the following: I created an sh script and set a variable pointing to where I wished prefix to point to and then used the following: CPPFLAGS="-I/usr/include -I/usr/X11R6/include -I$PREFIX/include" export CPPFLAGS LDFLAGS="-L/lib64 -L/usr/lib64 -L/usr/X11R6/lib64 -L$PREFIX/lib" export LDFLAGS configure --prefix=$PREFIX This allowed configure to complete. I had tried setting --includedir and --libdir, but neither of these worked. Can this be fixed so all that needs to be set it the prefix location? |

#3421 | Huge password security issue | Bug report | low | FileZilla Client
Description |
I'm using FileZilla v3.0.7.1 from PortableApps and I don't know if this is a bug or just a cofiguration issue but it's worth mentioning it. The SiteManager looks as the sites were safe, but they aren't. FileZilla saves the site from SiteManager in a configuration file called sitemanager.xml (a plain text file containgin some xml formatted data). (In previous versions the sites where contained inside the settings.xml) In FileZilla v2.x the passwords for the sites where encrypted with some sort of algorithm, but as I checked the sitemanager.xml file I discovered that the passwords are saved in plain text. Well this is a very huge security issue as gaining access to the xml will reveal the passwords of the server. Is this how FileZilla works? Are there future plans to secure the sites stored in the sitemanager.xml file? |

#3422 | Files transfered/duplicated to wrong directories | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
This is a copy of the message I left on the filezilla forums about the issue. I can't explain this one. About 45 of 55 folders were duplicated into a folder locally when copying files to my machine. Here is the situation... I have a whole bunch of photo files I was copying from my ftp server on the internet to my windows machine. Most have .jpg extensions, but some didn't. There are about 55 folders with about 5+ gigs in there. I copied the files to my local machine by doing ctrl-a (select all) on the server and dragged them to the queue. I then went into the queue and removed the recycle bin, trash files, logs, etc files and folders that I didn't want copied to the local machine. After the transfer I checked that all the files transfered correctly by going from one directory to another and using the directory comparison. First thing I noticed was that all of the photo files without file extensions were the wrong size (larger locally). I figured out that they had all been transfered using Ascii instead of binary... this is no big deal... that was my fault. I didn't realize Filezilla would default to ascii instead of binary on files without extensions. I would think it should default to binary, but that isn't the reason I'm writing. Starting in the 12th folder(not counting sub folders) and continuing through the rest of the folders I started seeing files duplicated from the previous folder in the current folder. So the 12th folder contains the 12th folder files plus files from the 11th folder. The 13th folder contains files from the 13th folder plus files from the 12th folder, but not the 11th folder. The 14th folder contain files from the 14th folder and duplicates from the the 13th folder, but not the 11th or 12th folder. This was only locally and not on the server, so filezilla must have done it when processing or creating the queue. If what I am writing isn't clear, I'll try to diagram the files structure of my local machine 11th folder --11file1.jpg --11file2.jpg --11file3.jpg 12th folder --11file1.jpg --11file2.jpg --11file3.jpg --12xxxx.jpg --12yyyy.jpg --12zzzz.jpg 13th folder --12xxxx.jpg --12yyyy.jpg --12zzzz.jpg --13q1111.jpg --13q2222.jpg --13q3333.jpg I now have to go through and manually delete a whole bunch of files because they don't belong where they are, but I assume it also meant that filezilla downloaded almost twice as many files as it should have. BTW I'm using filezilla 3.0.7.1 on a Windows 2000 Pro Service pack 4 machine. |

But if I doubleclick a .htaccess file in the Windows Explorer, UltraEdit is opened. Also, the .htaccess file has an UltraEdit icon next to it in the FileZilla local file listing. When I rename the file to 1.htaccess, I can open and edit the file from FileZilla without any problems. |
