#2595 | FlashFXP sites.xml import | Feature request | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
Since FlashFXP is widely used, it would be great to have an import function that can work on FlashFXP's sites.dat file (which stores all the FTP connections). For people trying to switch this would be an ideal feature. |

#2597 | Missing option to clear a large queu | Feature request | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
My FileZilla client had a very large queue of 100+ files. I had stopped FileZilla because I had changed my mind about donwloading all files. However I could only remove one queue item at a time. Also pressing "remove" changes the cous in the queue window. Eventualy I decided to simple edit trhwe FileZilla.xml file and remove all queued items there. Request: Can we please have a "Remove all" or a "Clear queue" option. My FileZIlla version is 2.28b. I have nistaled version 2.2.30, but it does not have the feature, to my knowledge. Edwin Teisman |

#2608 | Scheduled ftp | Feature request | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
I would like to be able to upload web pages to the server in a command line that can be input into a Task scheduler like the one provided by windows. i.e. pass the name of the file to uploaded, uploaded where, Site Name from Site Manager, password. The protocol I would like to use is SFTP using SSH2. The idea is to allow users a customisable page on the LAN that is automatically uploaded each night to the web server WITHOUT the user having access to the server. Would appreciate any comments or suggestions. PS. This is the the most reliable and simple to use upload program I have ever used, well done and many thanks. |

#2611 | File Editing: IMMEDIATE UPDATE ON SAVE | Feature request | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
When opening a file in an external editor I have to save and quit the editor in order for the file on the server to be updated. In other ftp programs, I hit save and the file is automatically updated on the server. The lack of this facility in Filezilla impacts my workflow as when I am debugging I have to make MANY changes and test each one. This forces me to open the file for editing, save, quit, check results and REPEAT for every such change. A very slow and frustrating process! Ultimately I chose to use another ftp program that have this feature rather than persist with Filezilla. Please add this to Filezilla so that I can use it on a daily basis! Thanks, blue-square |

#2617 | "Process queue" context menu item always available | Feature request | low | FileZilla Client
Description |

#2624 | Remember queue between sessions | Feature request | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
I think a feature to remember your queue between sessions would be good instead of having to export or import. For example: in FlashFXP when you close the program it prompts you about exiting with non empty queue. When you restart the program a box pops up to ask if you want to reload the last queue. This would be helpful when downloading a lot of files but then having to reboot or something in the middle of the queue. |

#2645 | Calculate timezone offset automatically | Feature request | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
I've had some problems with the timezone offset, mainly due to the fact that it doesn't take Daylight Savings Time into account. I've seen some other bug reports/feature requests for that. What I'd like to see is if you would be willing to add an automatic timezone offset calculation. Dreamweaver does this by creating a new file on the server, getting its creation time/date, deleting the file and comparing the time/date with the local time/date. It's a pretty simple procedure that would make life a lot easier. Of course, it wouldn't hurt if you could auto-adjust for daylight savings time as well. If not, the auto-timezone calculation would need to be repeated at least once per day. Thanks. |

#2654 | Case insentitivity (option) | Feature request | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
I've found Filezilla doesn't like when the server switches case in its responses. Here are logs from me trying to transfer "TestDir" to my SFTP server: Status: Connected Status: Starting upload of C:\[...]\Test Dir\file_One.txt Command: CD /parent/Test Dir/ Status: Starting upload of C:\[...]\Test Dir\File_two.txt Command: CD /parent/Test Dir/ Response: Directory /parent/Test Dir: failure Command: CD /parent/ Response: Directory /parent/Test Dir: failure Command: CD /parent/ Response: Remote working directory is now /parent/ Command: MKD Test Dir Response: Remote working directory is now /parent/ Command: MKD Test Dir Response: Directory created successfully Command: CD /parent/Test Dir/ Response: mkdir /parent/Test Dir: bad message Command: CD /parent/Test Dir/ Response: Remote working directory is now /parent/test dir/ Error: Upload failed Response: Remote working directory is now /parent/test dir/ Error: Upload failed (The initial CD errors occur because the server has to create "Test Dir" and then the MKD error occurs since the previous MKD command already created "Test Dir" - no problems there.) I believe the upload errors occur because the client issues the "CD /parent/Test Dir/" command, and the server responds with "/parent/test dir/". Since this is a Windows host, those two locations are the same and are valid. I don't suggest that Filezilla always ignore case, since UNIX hosts are case-sensitive, but maybe if Filezilla had a per-site option to ignore case, that could resolve this issue. So feature: A per-site option to use case-insensitive comparisons when validating server responses (and other cases, where appropriate). |

Please add the ability to export a single site or a single folder of sites to an XML file. Currently, the choice is all or nothing. A little more granularity would be so helpful. Export is easy right now, but there are sites I don't want to share when I make an XML export for my co-workers. Perhaps what folder or site is currently highlighted would determine what gets exported. Cheers! ..pjc.. 2007.06.20 |

#2659 | enable BACK BUTTON | Feature request | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
I've been using FileZilla for quite a while. One of a user-friendly features it had was the possibility to hit the back button, whenever you focused on a local or remote site pane, and navigate to the previous folder. Apologies if this feature has been added already, I just can't find it on the beta 10 version; i need to use the ".." icon. Thank you! |

#2660 | Keep directories in sync while navigating | Feature request | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
This is NOT another rsync or DirSync request! FireFTP has the feature to "Keep directories in sync while navigating". I really mis this in FileZilla. What this does is simply - when opening a folder- open the corresponding folder on the other side. i.e: you click on the folder images in the local root, and the remote switches to it's images folder. That saves you browsing to your desired folder twice. |

#2663 | Incorporate File Size In Addition to Timestamp | Feature request | normal | FileZilla Client

|||||
#2664 | Associate Local and Server Directories | Feature request | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
I'd like the option to associate a local directory with a server directory, and have that association maintained automatically by the FileZilla client. For example, I could associate my local directory "W:\web\foo\root" with the server directory "/user1234/main". Then, when I change my local directory to "W:\web\foo\root\src\frotz", the server directory would automatically switch to "/user1234/main/src/frotz" as well. For this option to be complete, the pairing could be either recursive or non-recursive. Deeper (more specific) associations should override shallower associations. For example:
would define a set of pairings such that the s directory pairing would override the pairing that would otherwise have been specified in the first line. Of course, for a simpler first implementation, having a single recursive association per site would be sufficient for 99.9% of the cases. |

With the pairing logic requested in [1052205], where there's an association between a local directory and a server directory, files need only be specified at one end or the other. |

#2669 | Tango Icons for Filezilla 3 | Feature request | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
This is to request for Filezilla3 a Tango-ified icon set. I noticed that FZ3 will support different sizes for the icons which is awesome. Now I'd like them to be Tango-based for better integration with the Linux desktops (both Gnome and KDE). As a suggestion, I feel sure if a simple contest is set up for this there will be hundreds of responses. After all FZ is by far one of the most popular projects in FZ. I'm using FZ3 Beta 11, which appart from the icons, seems to be pretty much feature complete. Thanks! |

#2675 | Filename collation order FZclient 2 and 3-beta | Feature request | low | FileZilla Client | duplicate
Description |
{If I could make this a low priority report I would !} This is a borderline UI-bug or New feature request depending how you view it. FZ3b11 With many retries over a week, I have just completed a 76 part download where the names are of the form <filename>.0 <filename>.1 <filename>.2 : <filename>.10 <filename>.11 : <filename>.20 <filename>.21 : I was happy to live with the awkward and very frustrating to use collation order in FZ (and maybe all FTP servers - maybe its a UNIX standard ?) and cursed the split program for not using .nnn format. Under FZ, that order shows as: <filename>.0 <filename>.1 <filename>.10 <filename>.11 : <filename>.19 <filename>.2 <filename>.20 <filename>.21 etc. HOWEVER when I got to check for completeness under M$oftWinXP, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the more user-friendly order [0,1,2,3...19,20,21, ...] was displayed. Could FZ directory listing panels use that "friendly-order" (by option if neccessary) or is there some FTP-standard constraint ? Arguably, if the application runs under Windows it should show a consistent collation order with its host. (Clearly there are issues with trailing space in a file name, but if such a filename can be created (not by standard Windows dialogues) it would have to have been made programmatically - long time since I tried that sort of thing.) #2676 | Remote encoding list of remote site on "Site Manager" dialog | Feature request | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
Hi! Sometimes there is a situation then local filenames encoding and remote filenames encoding are not equal. And when i connect to such server and there are filenames with national characters - i get unreadable filenames in panel. #2678 | Site Manager - Select Entry window size | Feature request | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
I have about 200 different FTP sites that I used over the span of every few weeks. Some are just listed under 'My Sites', whereas some are listed within specific folders. With all of the entries within this window, the size in FZ3 is much smaller and is much more cramped making the use of FZ3 uncomfortable. The way that I would fix this is make the Site Manager overall window bigger and dedicate more horizontal space to the Select Entry area. |

#2680 | File Exclusion List (client) | Feature request | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
Please refer to tracker [ 1524642 ] File Exclusion List http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1524642&group_id=21558&atid=372244 I'd like to request this same feature for the FileZilla client software. I'm creating this ticket because I was unable to locate a similar request for the client software. Frequently I'm uploading directory trees and I don't want to upload 'meta-files' like 'Thumbs.db' or in my specific case '.svn' folders or their contents. I use TortoiseSVN to interface with subversion repos and I end up getting write protected files in directory trees on servers which I do not have root access to. Then, I can't delete the '.svn' folder / recursive files without contacting the administrator(s). Surely this would help more than just Jan and I.

#2689 | maintain modification time and date | Feature request | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
FileZilla would be a lot more useful if there was an option to maintain the modification time/date stamp when downloading files. They currently get the time and date of the download, not the same time/date they have on the server, which makes it hard for versioning. IMHO, this option should be checked by default. |

#2692 | toolbar button toggling multi-connections on/off | Feature request | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
In the last version I used (v2.x I think) there was a file menu option to enable/disable multiple connections. It looks like this disappeared in favor of a simpler interface in 3.x but I would like to explain why it is an important feature: When I want to quickly transfer 1-3 text files under 10kb, I want to do so QUICKLY. I have noticed in my case having to wait for 3 new connections to be established with the server is MUCH SLOWER than just transferring these files one-by-one using the same connection. Conversely, when I know I need to download a directory full of hundreds to thousands of these tiny files, it is fastest to do so with multiple connections. I would like to be able to toggle multiple connections using a toolbar button, if possible in this v3.x. |

#2701 | Delete non-empty directories using "rm -r" | Feature request | normal | FileZilla Client | rejected
Description |
This feature request is for allowing the Filezilla client to delete non-empty directories. Some FTP servers allow this with the use of the -r (recursive) option with the rm command. This can be introduced in the Filezilla client as a option feature (which can be turned on by the user as required). |

#2702 | Command-Line Arguments | Feature request | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
Command-line arguments for FileZilla Client would really be useful. It seems it would be a very easy straightforward feature to program (transferring from version 2). Is it not installed because FileZilla 3 is multi-platform? Is FileZilla written in C++? Is there anyway I can help put this feature in place? |

#2704 | Add option for Site Manager to appear on startup | Feature request | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
Note: This is one of a few requests currently posted in the forum (http://filezilla.sourceforge.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=14155#14155). It would be nice if there were an option for the Site Manager to appear on startup (or not, as the user prefers). |

#2705 | Site Manager to remember its size and position | Feature request | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
Note: This is one of a few requests currently posted in the forum (http://filezilla.sourceforge.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=14155#14155). Site Manager should be able to remember its size and position. Currently it opens too small to be able to see the full descriptions in the site list. |

#2706 | Implement "edit/view file" option from FZ2 | Feature request | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
Note: This is one of a few requests currently posted in the forum (http://filezilla.sourceforge.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=14155#14155). Implement the "edit/view file" option in the context menu of local and remote filelists, as it appeared in FileZilla 2. |

#2707 | Add options to configure display settings | Feature request | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
Note: This is one of a few requests currently posted in the forum (http://filezilla.sourceforge.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=14155#14155). Add options to configure display settings, as it was implemented in FZ2 (i.e. Edit > Settings > Interface Settings), which was much more extensive than currently implemented in FZ3. |

#2710 | Drag and Drop in Site Manager | Feature request | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
This feature was present in Version 2.2.27. I just finished creating a few sites in the site manager. In order to keep things better organized, I also created folders to categorize these sites. Unfortunately, I know of no way to existing sites into my new folders. As it stands, it looks like I'll need to delete and recreate these entries in their proper place. The ability to rearrange sites via drag and drop is intuitive and would be greatly appreciated. |

#2712 | Show Server/Site Name in Title Bar | Feature request | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
When connected to a server, nowhere shows the name of the connection or FTP address. This is frustrating when (like me) you have more than 50 FTP sites set up and need to know which one you are connected to easily. Please put the current connection name in a title bar or somewhere easily visible. Thank you! (great job on version 3!) |

#2713 | Configuring double-click action | Feature request | normal | FileZilla Client | outdated
Description |
Double-clicking a file always transfers the file, where, if I'm not mistaken, in FZ 2.x the behavior was configurable to either:
This would help those users that are so used to double-clicking a file to open/edit (like myself) and prevent accidental up/downloads. I would hope that this feature would be re-implemented so that we can configure local and remote behavior separately. For instance, double-click on local does nothing, where double-click on remote opens/views the file. *My FZ version: 3.0.0* |

#2715 | Hide Hidden files on Linux... | Feature request | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
Hey, I'm using Filezilla 3.0.0 on openSUSE 10.2, and I noticed that the browser shows hidden files on Linux like ~/.kde and so on. It would be nice if these was hidden as standard. But it would also be nice if it was possible to choose to show them, but not just as standard. (Sry, if this issue has been said anywhere else, but I looked and could'nt find any) |

#2716 | Minimize to tray + speed info | Feature request | normal | FileZilla Client | fixed
Description |
Hi, i've unistalled filezilla client 2.32 and installed the version 3.0 some days ago and everything is really ok.. But there is a mistake in the new one..there isn't the button "minimize to system tray" near the other button in the high corner right!..It was really useful! Is possible put it again on the bar? Another question.. Is possible add the total download/upload speed transfer in the window that appear on the icon that will be in the system tray? (look the attached file). Thanks a lot. Savino |

#2717 | Display which Site currently connected to | Feature request | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
Using Vista & Filezilla 3.0.0 it does not display which Site you are connected to. When using with multiple site it can be confusing. This could be a tick on the Site Manager dropdown against the last connected server, or displayed in the outer window title. |

#2718 | Refresh display after transfers complete | Feature request | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
It would be very nice to have Filezilla 3 refresh the target directory display when the transfer completes. Filezilla 2 does this now, and it is not clear why this useful feature was dropped. |

#2720 | ssh public key authorization | Feature request | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
Since FileZilla wokrs with sftp it would be a very needed feature like ssh public key authorization. Lots of companies use this authorization method because of it's ease of use and security (there's no way loosing a password). And when companies use this method thay are forbiding password authorization method, so there's no way using FileZilla. FileZilla could implement this by providing a button "browse" in it's site manager instead of or near the "password:" line while "servertype:" is selected as "SFTP". |

#2721 | More consistent use of new "Filesize format" | Feature request | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
The new filesize format feature is great, especially the "Use thousands separator" which I have turned on with the "Display size in bytes" option. The file sizes display with the thousands separator very nicely in the local view and remote view and also the size column of the Queue window. However in the queue window the progress line does not use the thousands separator as I would have expected. This is the file size that comes after the time elapsed, time left, and percent progress bar. If this size could have the separators too that would be fantastic! |

#2722 | toggle local site window off | Feature request | normal | FileZilla Client | duplicate
Description |
Now that we can drag files directly from our drives/desktop into the remote site window, it would be nice if we did not have to display the "local site" window. Local site has become unnecessary clutter. (at least for some of us) |

#2723 | Store option files in the install directory -stay portable | Feature request | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
Let me change the Path to the XML option files. It's ok that FileZilla stores the settings in "Program Files\" on Vista. But for all others, who want to carry their FileZilla Client on a USB stick or an extern harddisk, it isn't very useful. Please insert an option to the FZ installation, to let the user decide, whether the options are stored in the install directory, ore not. Thank you for this great programm, best whishes Tobias |

#2726 | No log file found, or options for one. | Feature request | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
v3.0.1.0 (non beta) I have no log file, neither anywhere in the programme. Is there anything about a log file activate/deactivate or log file location. No where no even in the manager, more so no even in the options. I would like it available to log connections as needed from a chosen log location. I see this as a bug not a request,as all ftp clients have logging available. |

#2733 | Site Manager interface improvements | Feature request | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
In the Site Manager, selecting an existing site in the 'Select Entry' list disables the 'New Site' and 'New Folder' buttons. While this makes a little sense from a button context angle, it is a usability failure. The option to add a new site (to the current folder) should be always available, |

#2735 | Transfer Queue Complete Notification | Feature request | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
It would be great if FileZilla 3 could notify me when the uploading or downloading of my Transfer Queue is complete. Personally the playing of a sound file would suit me nicely, however this might not suit everyone. So could I suggest some options:
The reason is I often have large downloads running while I do other things. So an audio notifcation of completion would be fantastic. |

#2737 | Calculated size of server, max capacity server, size uploads | Feature request | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
ADD the possibility to calculate when active the connection the maximum Size of the server that you have open, then would be pretty to add that when upload of the files and/or folders to calculate the dimension total of all the files upload, and to the end to calculate the occupied size. Example if capacity of server =200 Mb when upload more files with files and folders and subfolders : calculate 20Mb. capacity server - size uploads = size empty for an another upload. |

#2751 | More flexible site manager | Feature request | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
I've been using FileZilla for years and I'd become used to being able to move sites from one folder to another in the site manager window. On the lastest version this appears to no longer be possible. When you only have a few sites it's not a problem but I'm dealing with nearly 170 domains each with thier own subdomaines on seven different servers and this was a feature that healped me keep them organised. Can we have this feature back please? |

#2757 | Site Manager - Select Entry Window | Feature request | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
The select entry window in the site manager is too narrow. If it could remember the width it was last stretched to, or if it defaulted to a wider window it would be better. As it is, it's too narrow to read the contents comfortablyand quickly, especially if there are nested folders. |

#2759 | Quick connect and time-out | Feature request | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
Hi I am using FileZilla version 3.0.2.1. In the Quick Connect-function it says that you can hide the Quick Connect panel / bar but nothing happens when I try to click to hide it. See attached file. I think that time until (FileZilla or) the connection to my server / web hotel is far too short. The disconnection happens too fast. Is it possible to prolong the time-out period or even better make it possible to set the time-out period yourselves? |
