Retain original timestamp on transfers

Description

I need to see an option in the program settings that would allow the ability to keep a files current date/timestamp upon transfer (either uploading or downloading).

Currently when files are transfered, the files are given the date/timestamp of the moment the transfer takes place. Knowing when a file was originally received is critical in many tasks.

Thanks!

Taken from now closed:
[ 672159 ] Update source date/time

"When uploading from Windows to Unix, can the date/time on the Windows system be reset to the one assigned on the Unix system? This would greatly facilitate web site synchronization."

  • So maybe give the user the option to make FileZilla try to set the remote timestamp to the local timestamp on upload, and if it fails, set the local timestamp to the one of the remote file. Or, always set the local timestamp to the remote one on uploads. Same goes for downloads as well.
