After upgrading to 3.1.1.1, the main window was drug so that the top part was no longer visible.I would expect to be able to grab either the top bar, or a corner, or click the X to close the app but nothing that I can think of has been helpful.

Installer says I have to be an Administrator to uninstall FileZilla since I earlier installed for all users. Refuses to proceed.

It is not possible to connect to the ftp server ftp.kindermöbelladen.de, although the server is accesible by other ftp programs (even the IE Explorer and Firefox). when I move content on a ftp-server from one directory to another with drag&drop I get a "+" symbol on the mouse cursor.

As the content is actually moved and not copied this "+" should not be there.

Brief setup explanation:

On my web development setup, I have a server where all my work files are stored. Each project is its own folder in this server, and each folder is shared independently (the Projects folder isn´t shared).

Then, on my machine (Windows XP SP2) I map these shared folders into VIRTUAL DRIVERS. This way, all my projects appear to be in HDs, whereas they are actually shared folders on a network.

I can then LABEL these drivers (just like I can RENAME a real driver). All the drivers share the same REAL NAME (the server´s name), but Windows allows me to label (not rename, just label) them differently so I name each of them after the PROJECT NAME.

FileZilla displays the DRIVER NAME (server´s name) instead of the DRIVER LABEL. So all my 13 virtual drivers are named the same in FZ, and I have to rely on Driver Letter to figure out which one is the one I need at the moment!

Soooooo easy to fix!

I was using an eval version of SmartFTP, and that little software gets the virtual driver label correctly, so a solution is attainable.

FileZilla is the closest thing to SmartFTP in usability, and I see a LOT of potential in it! I would also like to participate in the development.

i am using FileZilla 3.1.1.1 with FreeFTPD server. When looking at the "last modified" date code on the files in Filezilla they are all wrong. most of them have dates of January 1969 or 1970. Has onyone else seen this issue? The dates on the files within windows are correct.

After upgrading from version 3.0.8 to 3.1.1.1, I'm afraid that I cannot connect to the ftp server of my file hosting provider using Filezilla.

Trying to upload a 20MB mp3 file to this server with Filezilla always seems to hang after the first 200kB. I have been using FTP Commander for several years, uploading a file like this to the same site every week without problems. I have tried to use various versions of Filezilla (3.0.7.1, 3.0.9.3 and now 3.1.1.1) because I would prefer to use Filezilla if it would work. But it never does. It always hangs up when trying to upload these large files. I can upload small text/html files, but it always hangs on the large mp3 files. I am trying to view a FTP server which has a folder with a period in the begining, it does not show up. Though when I type in the path manually it will browse to that folder See images.

Hello, as the title says not everything in a folder will be uploaded and I tried it several times and this happens since the last five updates of FileZilla, so some content was uploaded and some not and it's impossible for me to explain it why, in the older releases it was possible to upload a full folder with its content but in the newer ones its not possible and I ask why? hi, i can't access an ftp in aruba.it using my macbook. i get the following message Response: 530 more info : hosting.aruba.it/password Error: Could not connect to server i have accessed other ftps using filezilla with my macbook and had no problem. i have been able to access the same aruba ftp using my pc and it has worked without a problem. i have obviously used the same access information for both the pc and mac. i have also rebooted the mac, closed and reopened filezilla. any ideas please?

I've always had the problem described in Ticket #3126 when connecting to ftpperso.free.fr. Contrary to what's written in ticket #3126, the problem is not fixed in recent versions of FileZilla. Worse still, this causes numerous timeouts, and/or disconnections from that server (Which hosts all user home pages of the most popular ISP in France). This is really annoying to have to click the [R] button to reconnect every time.

When trying to set up a file transfer, from a remote host to my machine, I wanted to queue up all the files before transferring the lot. However, when I clicked the process queue button on the toolbar, or right clicked a file to untick process queue, I found that neither action had any effect (the button was still depressed, and the tick was still present), and the files kept transferring. Sometimes either action does have an effect, but only to stop the current transfers (the process queue button switches off), whereupon files further down the transfer list are started, and process queue button/tick box enabled again.

I'm using FileZilla 3.1.1.1, running on XP SP3.

After the upgrade, the lcient get disconnect every 2-5 minutes (ECONNRESET - Connection reset by peer). In the older versions this doesn't happen.

I was tring to download files from filezila to my computer by highlighting multiple files, then draging them and droping them to a folder in my network. It did not work, a gave me the failed transters message, after a few trys with the same result, I refreshed fillzilla. When I did this the whole folder I was in deleated all information.

Queued files are NOT being converted to successful transfers after the file has been successfully transfered. The transfer seems to complete, but the file remains in the "Queued Files" folder and is never moved to the "Successful Transfers" folder. The files I am transferring are Zip files and are being successfully transferred. I am having no problems with the transferred files being corrupted.

I testest the same Server with a old FileZilla Portable Version (2.2.32) and it works properly.

All clients use PASV and the servers are configured with port-ranges thats are accepted on the servers incomming firewall.

Any Idea whats wrong?

Except for the ECONNABORTED word, it was doing the same on my last version. It's been three months since I am able to access the site to upload files.

I did not select an accessable folder on the host and tried to upload a file. FileZilla client was looping. Once a critcal error condition is recieved from the host it should have stoped and reported the error. I stoped the loop by selecting an accessable folder.

Using version 3.1.1.1 on Windows Vista Ultimate

Attempting to download very large file (about 7GB). First attempt failed at about 2GB. When attempt to download again, system detects existing file and prompts for action. Tried twice to use the "Resume" option and both times, the software crashed and would not recover without help. I had to close the program both times.

Choosing "Overwrite" seems to work fine. If it does not get past the 2GB threshold, I will update the ticket.

In the quickconnectbar.xrc file:

• if the IP element is hidden (ID_QUICKCONNECT_HOST), there is no problem. The default IP or the IP specified in command line is well used.

• if the Port element is hidden (ID_QUICKCONNECT_PORT), the application craches! I need to hide the 2 elements and I don't understand why we don't have the same behavior. Is it possible to fix this problem please?

Version 3.1.1.1 O/S Windows XP Home (Service Pack 2) When uploading images to my website gallery (typically 400 to 500 images - all v. small JPEG's) not all upload. A black box with a little red square in a small white box appears instead. Have tried dragging & dropping individual files concerned but this doesn't work. Custom filetype associations are not working.

Filezilla is using the Default filetype associations even though "Use filetype associations if available" has been selected in Settings dialogue box

however when I use the context menu (right button menu) to open a file in the local site: file window of Filezilla, the system default filetype associations are used eg a file of type .txt is opened in Notepad.exe instead of xint.exe. BTW xint does not require any parameters and this feature worked fine on a previous version of filezilla (sorry - can't recall which).

When updating via Help->Check for updates..., FileZilla attempts to connect to a URL to download the new version, but the progress bar stays empty and FileZilla freezes and the dialog gets "(Not responding)". Killing the FileZilla process and retrying eventually works, but not necessarily on the second try.

Seems like FileZilla might be handling update-download connection failures poorly.

Versions: 3.1.1 and 3.1.1.1 (Not 3.1.2 since there hasn't been an update to download with it yet.)

Sorry I don't have any further details. Hoping someone else has experienced the same problem and can add info.

After this problem started I uninstalled FZ and reinstalled with the latest version. But the problem has not disappeared.

Iv just started getting this error sence 3.1.1.1 I just installed windows XP sp3 and it has not made a differance.

I am using Dreamweaver CS3 as my computer's default editor. When I right-click and hit edit on any files it opens CS3, but does not actually open the file. Although if I edit the file at any point it does ask me to upload due to a change.

The installation fails during installation, stating that it has problems with writing af file. In windows the program appears to have been uninstalled. Trying to delete the program file filezilla.exe gives an error. By restart of the computer the program filezilla.exe is still active, and must be aborted. After the restart, the program files can be deleted, and the installation can be performed.

I get this error when I do the Configuration test and then it tells me to download the latest version and if that doesn't work submit a ticket. Since I have the latest version I am submitting this ticket. Please give me suggestions on what I can do to get this work. Thanks, Jeff hoobs1@…

FileZilla Client Version 3.1.2 Build date: 2008-08-30

Context menu to "Edit" a file on the local site window is grayed out if not connected to a remote site. "Open" works but doesn't use the defined editor. Once connected to a remote site the Local Site Window "Edit" option becomes available.

I noticed this right away when I first upgraded from version 2. This bug previously reported 5 weeks ago as ticket #3637 "Edit option not available" and closed by sf-robot. That ticket stated: "This problem began when I updated from 3.0.11.0."

I use FileZilla to transfer files between computers on my network. I used to have a problem with it only transferring files at 10mbps, then one version the bug was fixed, and now the bug is back again. I don't know how many versions back it was reintroduced.

It happens both with ftp and sftp transfers now. I think before it only happened with sftp tranfers. I know it isn't my network because I can transfer files using scp at the full 100mbps.

Where I'm using a Chinese version windows XP.

Both in the Drop-down box of remote path and the content box below if there has some Chinese characters, for example.

When updating file zilla from an earlier version to FileZilla_3.1.2 the desktop icon disapears. Restart the installer and make sure the Desktop Icon component is selected.

During FTP downloads mouse moves erratically (very jerky overshoots or jumps wildly) If by luck the you can click "Toggle processing of the transfer queue" the mouse immeadiately responds normally as it does as soon as the download complete.

I've seen similar problems if interrupts are disabled for too long and mouse movement events are missed.

This bug occurs on both 3.1.1.1 and 3.1.2 prior to upgrading I used 2.2.32 and never experienced this problem

this applies to versions 3.1.1 and 3.1.2. when using site snoopy.wiwi.uni-bonn.de, whenever i save the site in site manager and then try re-connecting, the (host), port, user, comments, default local directory, default remote directory, adjust server time offset and encoding are set to 'snoopy.wiwi.uni-bonn.de'. reinstalling, deleting all (or just this) setting(s) doesn't change this.

I have a version, the latest on my desktop that updated ok. My laptop, I get the message that says update available. I click on it, with the normal save etc., but it just sits there. Nothing downloads. I get around it by downloading the latest version from your web site and install it, but it will not update when I get the notice, I have no idea what is wrong. This was the last 2 updates, always worked previously. Updates work just fine on my desktop and I running Vista. On my laptop, I am running XP.

Please do not misunderstand: this is not a repeated "inverse queue" bug; rather an inconsistency wich (at least for me and many people i know) almost everytime creates time-consuming work of priority rescheduling: If I manually create a local directory and download the _contents_ of a remote directory into it, they are perfectly in alphabetical order in the queue. If I directly download the remote folder, the contained files are being downloaded in inverse order compared to the above method. This is particularily neccesary for sequentially numbered image strips, sounds, etc.

When setting the option "Preserve timestamps of transferred files", it is incorrectly preserving the modified timestamp by leaving off the seconds information (they are all 00 after transferring).

This causes a problem with our file synchronization software making it think that every file has been modified from the original.

We are using Filezilla client version 3.1.2 and Filezilla server version 0.9.27.

Please let me know if I need to provide a sample log.

I am using Filezilla server to host multiple ftp connections. We have had a problem lately with no one being able to connect. All of our clients are getting 421 Socket Errors. Most of them have no issue with using Filezilla client but using any other client it fails. Can you please help.

I wanted to delete all files in a folder beginning with "H", so I typed "H" to jump to the first file. The file was highlighted, so I didnt't click on it explicitly. Then I scrolled to the end of my desired selection and clicked the last file while pressing the shift-key. All files beginning with "H" were selected ... so I thought, but actually ALL FILES from the top of the (ascending by names sorted) filelist were selected, including all folders, i.e. much more files have been deleted, because this accidently hadn't come to my attention. This bug seems to exist since Version 3.x of the FileZilla-Client, in 2.2.32 selecting multiple files works correctly.

After finishing writing a file to the server Filezilla 3.1.2 then automatically overwrites the file it has just written and starts again!!!

When I download folder(s) with many subfolders, often FileZilla Client finish downloading when many sub-directories not downloaded. More exactly it not added many folders to queue, because in task panel all finished success. I guess there is a problem with loop scan of sub-folders.

I am not sure if this is a bug or an oversight. But is it very annoying

Why is it that when you down load a file that the last modified date of the file changes? Surely this should remain the same date as the file itself.

Server UNIX cleint Windows XP

I have a VSFTPD Server on Linux, configurated to allow FTPES connections only (Explicit TLS), through port 990. The newer versions of FileZilla Client (since 3.0.11.1) can connect to the server, but then, occurs a fail when the client tries to list the directories in the server. It shows a message saying that it "could not read from transfer socket: ECONNABORTED - Connection aborted". And then, it shows another message: "failed on recover listing of directories from server".

I'm using the version 3.0.11, because it is the last version released in wich I can get effectively a connection to the server. Please understand: the versions 3.0.11 and earlier can connect successfully to the server.

When connected to a remote host site, I tried to rename a file there. After I corrected the filename there (renamed it), I hit return to confirm the edit. The connection then aborted. I'm using Fizezilla 3.1.2. Here's the log: Command: LIST Response: 150 Opening BINARY mode data connection for /bin/ls. Response: 226 Transfer complete. The file transfer is not preserving the file time date stamp.

I have the option selected.

My client is Windows FileZilla version 3.1.2

Problem exist when uploading to server (Both Unix and Windows) file date time stamp is preserved when down loading from server to clientbiut not from client to server.

I consider this a Major bug as it seriously impacts on data management.

The real size of a file is 7746463744 bytes but filezilla shows a size of 3451496448 which is exactly 4*2⁹ bytes less. Seems that file-size handling is only 32bit somewhere.

When upgrading from to a new version of FileZilla if you already have a desktop-shortcut it is removed.

This is highly undesirable functionality.

Bug:

If I change the value in Edit->Options->Transfers->Timeout. Filezilla does not take this value and reconnect again if the session is idle 20 seconds.

When I set 0 value to disable the timeout of file transfers. Filezilla do the same again.

I rebuilt my mac a few days ago and hence had to reinstall filezilla.

This morning (sept. 16) I got an update notice from Apple that system updates are available and I installed them. I am currently running version 10.5.5 of os x on an iMac with a 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor.

I later went to the filezilla web site and downloaded the intel mac version of the software:

FileZilla_3.1.2_i686-apple-darwin9.app.tar.bz2 (Intel)

I uncompressed the downloaded file and dragged the program into the applications folder.

upon launching the filezilla logo briefly appeared in the task bar and then as the dialog box so eloquently puts it " The application Filezilla quit unexpectedly".

I have a Windows 2003 FTP server that I connect to and download files from on a regular basis. Recently when I download compressed files (zip, 7z, etc) with FileZilla it downloads more than 100%. The process is as follows

• Connect to server
• Browse to folder
• Add 2 or more files to queue (I have 2 concurrent downloads enabled)
• Files download
• Download progress reaches 100%
• Download completes and then resumes and continues download until I force a cancel (I have seen it download 3x the original file size)

Here is a snippet from the FTP log:

If you notice the "restarting" line -- that byte count is the actual file size of the completed download.

Note: I have tried with with a client of Windows XP and Vista

When pressing the DC button, the file list disorders and some files are just displayed as a white space, no description, filesize or anything, just a clickable blank line. Guess this is not so important, but it's a bug and it must be reported to the authorities XD

If the default remote directory for a web site is invalid, the Windows Error Reporting (aka Windows Crash Dialog) appears stating, "SFTP module in FileZilla based on PuTTY's psftp component has stopped working" and the helper process fzsftp is terminated.

At first I thought it had to do with the 255 character filename limit that one sometimes runs into but, when I tried to open the file from the temp directory using the exact same editor, it worked.

Using FileZilla 3.1.2

While uploading files to the xbox on the local network, the computer restarts. This error first occurred with version 3.1.1.1 and since then, it has been updated and the problem persists. It did give an error message of being unable to read the filezilla.xml file, so after checking this and seeing that it was empty, with a file size of 7.41kb, I deleted it and reinstalled. The private data has been cleared, all previous settings have been cleared. Any help would be appreciated. Failing this, I will use another FTP client, which is something I would rather avoid.

The site manager has a button labeled "Discard" for what might usually be labeled "Cancel." The different wording is not necessary, and can create confusion. For example (being the idiot that I am?), I first assumed that the "Discard" button would... discard the information on the current screen. That is, I thought the information would be deleted instead of the changes (if applicable) canceled.

Maybe once in every 5-10 times I rename a file, I will lose the ability to select/highlight, etc. the files in either the remote or local pane. At this point, Filezilla becomes unusable. The only way to recover is to relaunch the program or to disconnect and then reconnect.

This issue may have started with Filezilla version 3.

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When clicking on the Desktop folder shortcut appearing in the Local site's tree view (remote site is Linux, so I could not test if behavior is the same on Remote site's tree view), the hard disk of my computer starts spinning like crazy for about 10 to 15 seconds before control is given back to the UI.

This behavior might be related to a fix / enhancement implemented to solve tickets 1088 and 1089.

I was uploading some JPG files. Then the following two files appeared at the server side: .pureftpd-upload.48d65748.15.1dcb.57b4d1fb .pureftpd-upload.48d65748.15.1dca.c03cbedb (including that starting dot). I tried to delete them, with no success: Command: DELE .pureftpd-upload.48d65748.15.1dcb.57b4d1fb Response: 550 Prohibited file name: .pureftpd-upload.48d65748.15.1dcb.57b4d1fb Neither can I rename them, and neither can I delete the directory in which they are stored. What can I do?

Using FZ 3.1.2.

On the local side, when right-clicking a file and choosing open, the associated executable opens, but the filename isn't passed to it, or is passed incorrectly.

Example: I right-click a PHP file which should open in Dreamweaver. DW opens, but acts as if a new file is being opened. Does not appear as if a filename was passed to it.

Here is an apparent bug. When logging into a Chinese FTP site and entering a folder named in Chinese characters, the "Remote site" does not display the path normally. In more detail, it always does not recognize Chinese characters, and thus shows some confusing ones. I believe that this software will be more attractive if this bug is fixed.

While downloading approx 850,000 tif files ranging in size from 20K to 900K, got a fatal system error. Even log error:

The Windows Filezilla client fails when connecting to a z/VM 5.3 FTP server configured for SSL and FIPS. The z/VM 5.3 FTP server is written to use RFC1123. I have tested Filezilla versions 3.0.9, 3.1.2, and 3.1.3 with the same results. I'm able to successfully connect to the z/VM 5.3 FTP server using the Linux "ftp-ssl" client, the WS_FTP client, the Hummingbird FTP client, and the z/OS FTP client.

This is more an annoyance than a bug, but I'd imagine it would affect anyone who has a floppy drive installed on their PC.

It seems that all versions >= 3.0 try to read my floppy drive on startup. The application does not respond until the drive light goes off. This obviously makes the application slow to load, every time.

I start downloading a file of maybe 50 mb. When I have downloaded 30 mb, I pause the download by "Process Queque" or something like that ( my filezilla is in Spanish ).

When I resume the download, I get a 80 mb file!!

When i try to change a file name from "Les vagues" to "les vagues". Filezilla client 3.1.3 said "550 file exists".

It's probably a probleme on filezilla server 0.9.27 who dont't know case sensitivity.

Running Windows XP SP3 on HP m7250n media center desktop. Using Dialup on internal modem. Attempting to transmit 15-17 meg files and receiving server times out after 15 minutes of perceived no activity, including sending data to it. On previous version I was able to restart the download by clicking on the "R" at the top of the screen. With this version, the "R" remains grayed out all the time, and clicking it has no effect. I have had to resort to clicking "Process Queue" twice to get the program to reconnect to the receiving server and continue the transfer. Any other action results in a restart of sending the file, and overwriting what was there before rather than appending the new material to the end of the all ready received file.

The upgrade from Filezilla FTP Client 3.1.2 to 3.1.3 was given an error (can't write c:\programmi\...\filezilla.exe). I solved the problem adding "old" to the pre-existing files filezilla.exe and mingwm10.dll in the folder c:\programmi\filezilla ftp client\ and repeating the installation setup. Regards Giordano

Network Configuration wizard test failure 503 Failure of data connection

My problem sounds the same as ticket #3736 and I have read through the network configuration guide and tried everything that seems applicable including turning off the windows firewall. Please can you advise me on what else to try.

I use a wireless connection which loses some packets so TCP connections are lost quite often. I've installed FileZilla especially for uploading large files because I've heard it resumes uploads correctly. But sometimes it obviously doesn't.

I uploaded a 31MB zip file and found out that the file on the server is a bit larger than the original file. I've retried several times and the resulting file size is each time different but always a bit greater than the correct one. The original file size is 32735774 B and the resulting file size is e.g. (in the logged case) 32763514 B.

I uploaded also a 13MB file and this was uploaded incorrectly for the first time and correctly for the second time so FZ resumes uploads incorrectly only sometimes.

I have the latest version of Filezilla. Virtually every time I upload files (50mb+) I get the following message in the top window:

It tells me that I've been disconnected but the files still seem to be uploading with the progress bar. Why do I keep getting this message?

I am transfering one file from a ftp server via queue. The transfer aborts then a new transfer is startet with a new connection on the server. then again and again, till max number of connections to the server is reached. Version 3.1.2 works fine, with no errors or aborts while 3.1.3 doesn't.

The server is pure-ftp on linux based system.

When select option for edit two files from a server with the same names, the 2nd is replacing 1st, and old is not uploading into server.

Filezilla Client 3.1.3 - Right clicking in the host box causes PC to reboot. Previous version had the same behavior.

Latest version of downloaded today, ie 3.1.3.

When I tried to log into my server, for the first time it required a Port number. When I put in Port 21 (which is the correct port), I get the error message:

Could not parse server address: Invalid port given. The port has to be a value from 1 to 65535.

I've just spent around 4 hours working on updating my web site, the fact that I now cannot upload it to the server does not best please me.

Colored bands and horizontal mis-alignments appears in some jpegs uploaded on filezilla. using dreamweaver ftp makes the problem go away. Windows xp is the OS.

ver 3.1.3 for power pc is having startup issues.

It stops responding for a while then finall starts up. There are no error messages.

This definitely changed from 3.12
