So i have reinstalled filezilla twice because i thought that could fix my issue. Not.

Im using the blackboard theme with multiple tabs for remote servers. The issues is when opening the client all windows tabs are sized to the previous use. Perfect. BUT upon opening a new server in a new tab the remote site window fills the entire right side. It ignores the window size i have set. This is really annoying because when connecting to allot of servers, you need to manually resize the remove site window again, and again, and again....

Spelling of 'administrator' error in src/interface/verifycertdialog.cpp

Attached is a patch to correct the spelling of 'administrator'.

While working on files, saving then switching to FileZilla (FZ), FZ will prompt a message "File has changed".

This has the option "Upload this file back to the server: [] Finish editing and delete local file"

As I was completing the task, the checkbox "Finish editing and delete local file" was checked, then it occurred to me that I wanted to change something.

I pressed escape, canceling the operation. For me it was a bit of a surprise that the Escape button and the X on the right corner basicly perform the "No" action - therefor deleting the file - instead of canceling the operation as a whole.

Action: Esc (cancel) Expectation: close prompt, don't perform any action. Reality: Alias for pressing the "No" button, executing the selected checkbox.

After previous update to the 'data/filezilla.appdata.xml' where we left launchable in for software centers. A look at the appstream 0.12 docs show that the 'type' should be 'desktop-id' and not the current 'desktop'.

I noticed today an HMA VPN shortcut on my desktop. I did not install it.

Checking its directory in C:\Program Files, I find that it appeared on October 6. That is when I launched FileZilla after not having used it for a while. It prompted me to download and install an update to FileZilla, which I did.

Was HMA VPN bundled with that within-app update?

I've built filezilla using gcc/mingw on Windows just now and noticed that the resource lookup didn't work because it looks for the wrong directory separators.

When I try to connect to any SFTP server I get an error "fzsftp could not be started". Interestingly if I switch to Czech language I get an "fzputtygen could not be started" error (of course translated). It happens since 3.52.0 version. Version 3.51.0 works. My guess would be that the double slash in path to fzsftp is causing the problem

We just updated our Filezilla Pro (3.52.0.4) and sent a compressed file in WinRAR format (.rar) to an S3 bucket on AWS. The upload is successful and the download is successful, but when trying to extract the file it gives an error. We repeated the process several times and it doesn't work, and the compressed file on the source computer is unzipping normally. The problem is when we send the file. Since we sent and downloaded it through the AWS web interface and the file unzipped normally at the destination.

After installing the latest version of FileZilla client, the file timestamp data is no longer preserved on the transferred files. Verified that the option is still set in the transfer options.

I have been using v3.51 and earlier versions to upload files to a server running SSH-2.0-OpenSSH_7.4 to support sftp/ssh file transfers.

since updating to v3.52.05 (and also with 3.52.2), I have been unable to upload or download files from the server. It appears to write and then I will see an error that the file transfer failed, and then when it retries, it brings up the overwrite dialog to try to overwrite the file I just uploaded or downloaded - the file that is on the server after the initial upload is 0kb in size.

I have been able to workaround by downgrading back to 3.51.0 for the time being.

It appears that for both the 3.52.2 uploads and downloads, the following message appears after the put/get command respectively:

My Internet Connection has 5 MBit/s Upload limit.

I wanted some 1500 MBit/s upload speed. To achieve this I have to set Filezilla to 150 kBit/s in the speed limit dialog. See Screen Shots. When I set the speed limit to 600 kBit/s, FileZilla consumes the whole upload bandwidth.

This used to be working right in previous versions of FileZila Client

FZ will transfer all files but at the end the UI just drops out. I wish there would be a way to provide more details over and above what the "FileZilla.log" in "debug" mode can provide?

When I try to connect an error pops up: Error loading xml file invalid xml file

I've double checked that data is correct. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, disabling my antivirus, clearing my cache, deleting each xml file in the app data and every time I get the same error.

When an SSH server issues a keyboard-interactive authentication to the client and the "instruction" field contains an & (and) sign (e.g. in an URL) the and sign is duplicated. Furthermore, it adds a > sign after a certain length.

FTBS: buffer.cpp fails with GCC 11.

Updated to the RC of 3.54 today and when I connect to a server using sftp with key auth enabled, no matter what I put in as the key it doesn't let me login, I verified that capslock/etc was not on, and the same keyphrase works in putty. Regressing back to 3.53.1 allows me to connect again.

Turning on detailed logs doesn't show anything useful, unfortunately.

I've tried to look at logs on the server side, and, unless I'm looking at the wrong logs, there's also nothing really worthy of note there as well.

When I open Site Manager, there is nowhere to enter the password for the site I am trying to connect to. I've checked settings and 'Save Passwords' is enabled. I've also tried FTP connection options as well as SFTP and the password field is nowhere to be found. It only asks me for hostname and user. What am I missing? I always had a password field before, in prior versions of Filezilla. Thank you.

Hello, after the latest update Google Drive is not working, and while adding the google drive using the site Filezilla is crashing. Please look into it and suggest a solution.

Under Edit -> Settings -> Interface -> File lists

there's a setting called "Name sorting mode".

It has several possible values, among which:

• case sensitive
• case insensitive

These are reversed, meaning that if you select one the other will be used and viceversa.

Consider a directory listing with these filenames:

ax, Ay, bx, By.

"Case sensitive" mode will sort them as: ax Ay bx By

"Case insensitive" mode will sort them as: Ay By ax bx

It should obvioulsy be the other way round.

The newly generated RSA 2048 key on Putty in Windows, and Mac is not loading on CyberDuck.

Steps:

1. Generate a private key using PUTTY
2. Open FileZilla
3. Site Manager > New Site
4. Select Logon type as 'Key file'
5. select the attached PPK file from the ticket.

FileZilla will not accept the key nor display an error message. The same key works fine with ​https://cyberduck.io/

1) Issue 1 I can not read log files created by Filezilla Server version 1.0.0-rc2. I have unsufficient permissions for log files, even as an admin. Not even rotated logs. It appears that log files do not inherit permissions from Logs-folder, they have their own ambiguous permissions.

Hi, In version 3.55.0, FileZilla Client on Mac throws error "Could not get reply from fputtygen" when it is trying to import an RSA key to generate the PPK formatted key. In older version, it is successfully importing the key and converting them to PPK format without this error. We are using FileZilla Pro.

Steps:

1. Generate an RSA key using command "ssh-keygen -t rsa -b 4096 -C "filezillaPPKconversionissue" -f temp"
2. For password, provide any password like 'test'
3. Open FileZilla 3.55.0 > File > Site Manager
4. Protocol: SFTP
5. host: enter host
6. Logon type: Key file
7. User: enter user
8. Key file: select the private key generated "temp"
9. FileZilla client will prompt to convert key to pPK format. click yes

10 enter key password and confirm

11. enter filename for PPK file like 'testppk' and press SAVE in the file save dialog
12. you will get error popup "Could not get reply from fputtygen"

My micro-server (Fritz!Box) lacks some security features such as TLS session resumption. Each time I connect I have to allow this connection again. The bug is that the option checkbox "Always allow…" works only during the current session. The next time I start FileZilla, the pop-up windows appears again with unchecked option.

With New FileZilla Server 1.0.1 want to setting " \ \IP\shareFolderName\path" to Native path, but return Error Message "Path must be absolute".

I shotdown the server, and modify "users.xml" in AppData, then restart server, the SMB path is work correctly.

Can fix the warning message and SMB path is ok in interface?

All SSH connections to different accounts hosted at Strato in Germany get refused suddenly on my Mac.

Solution: Had to replace Servername 'ssh.strato.de' with the ip-adress (which I found out by pinging ssh.strato.de). You should fix this problem, because the soliotion isn't obvious and not documented at Strato or elsewhere!

BtW: Connections to servers NOT hosted at Strato were not affected within the same client on the same Mac.

In FileZilla Server 1.1.0 the behavior changed if a client sends an RETR for a nonexistant file.

behavior prior to version 1.1.0:

behavior in version 1.1.0:

this is a big problem, because our clients (not our software) make RETR until a service on that server created this file. with the new responses the clients send a quit after they get the 425

Download an already existing file, when asked whether to overwrite or not answer with "Yes": the date and time of creation of the overwritten file will be of the previous file.

My FTP-client is trying to connect to a FileZilla server 1.0.1 that is not under my control and runs into trouble when trying to find out if MLSD/MLST is supported by the server (this is done because there are servers out there announcing support in FEAT but actually can't). Hello, my Client got an Problem where she couldnt log in in our FTP Server it worked before but now she only gets the error Failed to connect to the server, on other PCs it worked but for her not. Is it maybe because she is using a vpn to connect to our Server and using wlan that it is too slow.

For the last two or three versions, I keep getting a 'new version available' message, but in the pop after startup (same when clicking the top menu item) I see: "The new version could not be downloaded".

The links with details and website just below that text only show when I hover them, I discovered this by accident. I downloaded and installed the update, 3.57.0. Now it will not connect when I enter command-R. Says TLS connection is established, enters the password (which has not changed), then times out. I restarted, but with same problem. Other FTP software works just fine. Only change is the new FileZilla.

It seems as though updating from 1.0.1 to 1.1.0 has given me this bug

If I make a user, make a group for that user, then mount a drive as /group it will receive this error

The only way it works is if something in the group is mounted as "/"

Workaround seems to be to mount an empty folder as "/" then I can mount each folder

Is there something wrong with the way I'm doing things or is this a bug?

We have shared some folder using FileZilla server to our client , so that they can have access to the folder. However, the client is getting an error(Screenshot attached). Using latest filezilla version.

On the logging settings panel (see screen capture) there is a browse button. I assumed this would open the folder specified - ie my windows temporary folder. However, clicking BROWSE opens a folder to which I had recently exported a site definition, not the folder containing the logs.

This is not a serious problem as I was able to browse to the appropriate folder, and then view the logs, but that does take a little time! If I correctly understood the way this is supposed to work it would be nice to have it fixed.

I am trying to SFTP to another box on my network. The workstation I am using is Kubuntu 20.04.4 LTS, x86_64, fully patched. Kubuntu uses KDE, and includes Filezilla 3.46.3-1build1.

My network is setup for public key authentication only. All machines have the following:

When I try to SFTP to a box with Filezilla, I am getting tripped up because the UI does not allow me to select a private key in the Browse for Key File dialog. The private keys are missing from the selection:

The dialog also does not automatically select the private key based on a selected public key. (I have to select a public key because that's the only thing displayed).

I don't know if this behavior is specific to Kubuntu, or if it is present in all Debian or Ubuntu derivatives. (This is my first time using Filezilla).

When downloading files, the mouse becomes jerky and stutters as I try to move it. When the download completes, it goes back to normal.

The computer in question is a laptop, so I'm using an external wireless mouse (logitech m325) - and while this problem is happening, mouse functions are smooth using the laptop's track pad. I am using microsoft provided mouse drivers.

Hi, while I can't repro on demand (yet), I am having server crashes. The error suggests it's a memory access violation (Sig[6].Value=c0000005) I was running a VERY old version of the server. I recently installed 1.3.0 and since I did, I get the same crashes on both servers.

I am attaching the windows crash report. Happy to provide any more data that i can.

Server : windows server 2022 standard ram: 8gig configured, utilization never jumps over 50% of the ram cpu: 4 cores When they crash, only a single client is connected, uploading via single thread.

When I click View/Edit a file on the server it opens in Notepad++ for me. When I edit the file and save, it does not save back to the server. However, when I close Filezilla it asks me if I really want to quit. Whatever I answer it pops up the File has changed window and will save the file to the server. I just updated to 3.59.0 this morning and this started happening.

Right after I logged in to File Zilla using the previous version, 10 minutes later I decided to get the new version and my login failed. Hello im using hp laptop and my phone as wlan internet provider. SOmetimes my hp will lose WLAN connection and retries it. In this behaviour Filezilla:

So FileZilla will sometimes freeze on this. Now filezilla wont progress anything, wont connect new connection to new tab onlything that helps is to restart Filezilla and start upload of 15k files again.

FileZilla wont keep connection alive somehow and results frozen behaviour. Unstead of try connect you could use somekind of is internet alive loop that waits connection to internet then tries continue. But the connector will break filezilla as it is for now. And very fustruation as I have 15k files for my app and if it breaks somewhere in 5k to go I have to try send 15k again just to filezilla check if to overjump files wich will take a lot of time again.

And since FileZilla dont have filetransfer saving or current session saver script it wont remember filetransfer on restart which is a bit annoying.

The latest filezilla 3.59 hangs after detecting a timeout. It shows "Error: Connection timed out after N seconds of inactivity" and then stops responding to commands like "cancel current operation", "stop and remove all (from queue)" or never tries to redo the current operation. If I close the program it still stays in the task manager and I have to kill it with the taskkill command on windows to get rid of it. It makes working over poor connections very difficult and frustrating.

The number of files selected in the file list & their totals do not match up with what is shown in the directory status bar.

Since 3.62.0, the usual key combination to select all files in pane (Command/a on Mac) does not work. All files must now be selected manually rather than a quick keystroke combination to "select all" before initiating a transfer.

FileZilla Server 1.6.1 fails to be compiled with libfilezilla version 0.39.2 (the latest available version).

Compilation fails because the "fz::strtokenizer" function is missing from libfilezilla 0.39.2 sources.

Current gmp is detected via pkgconfig and gmp did not add .pc files until version 6.2.0.

It appears that after an ABOR command, incorrect data may be returned. In my specific case, I was trying to download file chunks, and providing offsets to FileZilla. The first chunk returned (offset 0) is correct. However, subsequent downloads return incorrect data.

So this indeed looks like a FileZilla issue, and it occurs even when I use an offset of “1” every time.

To rule out a client-side issue, I captured the FTP traffic using Wireshark and analyzed it. The control connection looks OK, with the client attempting to download the same file twice:

However, data that was transmitted over the second data connection is clearly wrong. Apparently, instead of sending file data that starts at offset 1, FileZilla sends data from seemingly semi-random offsets such as 0x40001 or 0xA0001. So interestingly, FileZilla got the lower 16 bits of the offset correctly, but then used wrong value for the next 16 bits.

Out of interest, I added ftpClient.GetList() as the first call in your “for (var i = 0; i < 10; i++)“ loop, and the results were even weirder – on the second iteration, the server actually transmitted some part of Artifacts.zip data instead of the directory listing. Because I also had “ftpClient.LogWriter = new ConsoleLogWriter(LogLevel.Debug)“ in the code, this actually showed up like this:

So please do open a FileZilla ticket for this – it looks like something very wrong is going on at the server indeed! My guess is that it has something to do with “ABOR” command – apparently, although it does stop the current transfer (before all data has been transmitted), part of the remaining data remains in some buffer and is later sent via data connection belonging to a subsequent command.

Change language to 'Chinese Simplified (zh_CN)', and then relaunch FileZilla Client, will show an error and then rollback to default language.

libfilezilla doesn't build with GCC 13 due to some missing includes. Patch attached.

The issue is in the SFTP Authentication. If someone wants to authenticate with a public key or a password, the Server logs at first a failed authentication and then a succesfull one. This example is with password authentication:

If one uses a public key, it would be the same except the type is 3. This authentication attempt will count as one failed login attempt, even tho the auth ended beeing successful.

Assuming that one configured AutoBan with 2 failed login attempts, its very likely that on the next Login Attempt (like uploading/downloading a File) will trigger AutoBan since the authentication will be the exact same.

Therefore either an authentication attempt like this should either count as successfull or after a successfully login attempt it should reset the AutoBan Counter

The X icon (close tab) in any given tab is HUGE. It used to be tiny, but now it's nearly as tall as the tab itself.

It seems to have happened within the last few stable versions, though I don't know exactly which one. I first noticed it in January 2023 and thought it would be fixed in a later update, but it hasn't changed.

In Settings, I have tried adjusting the theme and theme scaling, but that didn't affect this icon. I've also tried different interface layouts and gone through every setting I can find, but no dice.

Steps to reproduce: Open multiple connection tabs, look at X icon on tabs.

After connecting to a site from a bookmark let's say my local site pane has:

And remote site pane has:

It happens 100% of the times to me that if I right click the "directory listing filters" icon in the toolbar to enable the filters, the local site pane changes to something different, such as:

File sizes on remove directory listing are off by 10^-1.

Only files over 100MB are affected.

Example, file on local dir listing is 100MB. File is transferred successfully. File size on remote listing is 10MB

Hello, there is a "major" bug in the Windows-Exe as describes as followed: We usally roll out updates while using the /S switch, which worked until 1.6.1 fine.

But V1.7.2 has the issue to REMOVE the service so that the ftp-Server dowes not run any longer! While manuelly running the setup the service is recreated fine again.

Suddenly cannot upload newly created files from my local directory to remote directory. If it is an old file/already on the remote side it has no problem uploading and rewrites it again. Regardless of file extension.

File cannot be uploaded to Onedrive.

The reason for cancellation is "Could not start transfer".

My ondrive capacity is 500gb left, so it's not a capacity issue.

How to reproduce this error

You need two AWS EC2 machines which happen to be in the same region. Put FileZilla server on one of them. Put ncFtpPut client on the other one. ( Download the client from ​https://www.ncftp.com/ncftp/ )

When ncFtpPut tries to connect, probably due to some AWS routing optimizations, it comes through using the private IPv4 of the client machine instead of using the public IPv4. This accounts for the difference.

In the "Groups" or "Users" setting, the "virtual path" entering "/02市场拓展部" results in an error message: "the virtual path is not valid. Character '\' is not allowed in the path..." preventing further progress. However, entering "/02市场拓展部s" is succeed.

When navigating the main window of the client with tab and shift+tab, navigation seems to get stuck in the log. In other words, when keyboard focus is on the log, nothing happens when I press tab or shift+tab. I review the log often and I use a screen reader, so being able to use this kind of navigation is critical, and many screen reader users don't use a mouse at all. I discovered it is still possible to use the F6 key to move away from the log, which is a good workaround but not one that will be obvious to many. I do not know if this occurs on non-Windows operating systems but I did verify it on two Windows 10 machines. Marking high priority because even if it affects a small number of people, not being able to exit the log is arguably a blocker to being able to successfully use the client, and on the development side it seems like a small regression.

A feature that allows a 'phonelist' of Filezilla Servers that you can have sync themselves would be very useful.

The introduction of folder - user - server customisation options may or may not be helpful, but the basic, "Server1 make yourself look like server2 please!" checkbox would be great.

in zmode i would like to see it activated also by file type it consume too much cpu when transferring a very large zip file which hangs my server

After this problem started I uninstalled FZ and reinstalled with the latest version. But the problem has not disappeared.

Whenever I attempt to upload a new or updated file for my website, I get "critical error". What is the fix for this issue? Please help asap. See command list below. You will see "critical error" at the bottom. Thank you a bunch. God bless.

I am using Filezilla server to host multiple ftp connections. We have had a problem lately with no one being able to connect. All of our clients are getting 421 Socket Errors. Most of them have no issue with using Filezilla client but using any other client it fails. Can you please help.

After finishing writing a file to the server Filezilla 3.1.2 then automatically overwrites the file it has just written and starts again!!!
