#4899 | Site Manage Drop Down | low | wontfix | 15 years | 15 years
Description |
I consider this a bug, but you may consider it a 'feature request'. Here is the break down of what happens. I have many many sites saved in the Site Manage, when I click the down arrow on the Site Manage icon, I have a list so long that I can't see any of the sites past 't' in the list. There is an arrow on the top of the list, but not on on the bottom to scroll down the list. For sites below 't' I have to go into the site manager and click connect. Not a huge deal, but I would LOVE to see a version update that included this feature/bug fix. As it would make my life a tad bit easier. |

#4927 | empty directory listing on AIX | low | outdated | 15 years | 12 years
Description |
FileZilla client shows empty dir listing in a non-empty directory on AIX. This happens approximately 9 times out of 10 if I repeatedly hit the refresh (F5). Sometimes it comes back with incomplete listing. To me this sounds like a timing issue. My local system is Windows XP. Remote host runs AIX.

#4975 | Remote and Local Directory Tree Toggle / not working | low | duplicate | 15 years | 15 years
Description |
These two toggles (Remote and Local Directory Tree Toggle) are located in the top bar under the Main Menu Bar. They both have a weird behavior. Both were OFF upon start. The weird behavior appears as soon as the tabbed interface is activated or a little later on while using it. This behavior is characterized by:
I am using the latest version of filezilla (updated 10 min ago.) I have restarted filezilla and the buttons work again until I create a new tab. Unless now only the "remote directory tree" is affected by the bug. The local directory switch works properly. Then I create a new tab once again and both toggles work properly again. Then again I leave one tab open (the tab-panel disappears) and create a new tab - the problems appear again. Truly a strange thing. Hi, Since the 3 last versions (3.3.0.1, 3.3.0 and 3.2.8.1), from time time, when I download from my server (Ubuntu Desktop 8.04) a list of files, the download stops without any error message and without reason. I just do a right click, then uncheck 'Traiter la file d'attente' and then recheck and the download restart until it stops again at a later time, on the same file or not. I was unable to focus a type of file, a file size or something. I never have this problem with the 3.2.8 and previous versions. FileZilla Client Version: 3.3.0.1 Build information:

When selecting multiple files or folders using Ctrl+Shift in the local or server file browser, the number of Selected files/folders is shown wrong. It seems that the real number of selected files is just added to the previously displayed number of selected files. Example: Selected 3 files e.g. using Shift (FZ displays "Selected 3 files."). If you go on selecting 2 more files with Ctrl+Shift there are 5 files selected but FZ shows "Selected 8 files." (5 real + 3 form before). Go on selecting 2 more files, FZ shows "Selected 15 files." (7 real + 8 thought from before). And so on.. Version: 3.3.1 (Screenshot attached) |

In my taskmanager i can see that the full bandwith is used, but not showed in the Speedmeter in the Filezilla transferlist. It's growing but slow! I think you have to improve the calculation of the actual Speed, if there are big differences in short time. |

#5310 | "Empty directory" when not connected | low | fixed | 14 years | 14 years
Description |
I am running FileZilla 3.3.2.1. I have the default pane layout with "Remote site" on the right hand side. When not connected to a remote site, either after startup or after disconnecting, the status bar (is that the correct word?) under Remote site displays "Empty directory." This text implies that a certain directory is targeted but that it does not contain any file to display. In my view that is incorrect, because there is no directory that this refers to. #5383 | multiple concurrent uploads fail with SFTP | low | rejected | 14 years | 9 years
Description |
This may be related to this bug: http://trac.filezilla-project.org/ticket/3477 Two years old and long since closed, but this appears to be the same (or a similar) issue. Uploading multiple files in multiple folders, over SFTP, with multiple concurrent uploads (5 is my setting), doesn't work with all servers. The problem is, the client makes no intelligent decisions about the order in which uploads are processed. That is, if you're uploading "folder_a/file_a" and "folder_a/file_b", the order in which these happen to occur, is unpredictable - it depends on whether or when a thread happens to be available. So when "file_a" begins to upload, the folder is created - but if at the same time "file_b" begins, and assumes the folder has been created, but the previous request didn't complete yet, it will fail. |

#7263 | Directory separator problem | low | outdated | 13 years | 12 years
Description |
I am using an embedded FTP server from Green Hills. It follows in the Linux tradition using a slash, '/', to separate directory levels. When I connect with FileZilla it attempts to set the working directory using backslashes, '\', which results in an error. The display shows folders with question marks. (Presumably as a consequence.) FZ then does a PWD and appears to then recognize that slashes are to be used. Subsequent commands use slashes and there are no more problems. Would it make sense to issue a PWD as soon as the connection is opened and use the response to direct how to format all future directory-related commands? The original file has size 1,855,488 bytes, the resulting file has size 1,855,392, as also reported by filezilla itself. The file is the binary SQLite database. The transfer log: Status: Starting download of /public_html/xxx/includes/xxx Command: PASV Response: 227 Entering Passive Mode (198,46,81,146,124,133) Command: RETR webcal Response: 150-Accepted data connection Response: 150 1812.0 kbytes to download Response: 226-File successfully transferred Response: 226 2.623 seconds (measured here), 0.68 Mbytes per second Status: File transfer successful, transferred 1,858,120 bytes in 3 seconds Status: Disconnected from server File is always transferred with the same discrepancy (subsequent attempts produce the same wrong version). The file in question didn't have any extension (no periods in its name). There is 'Default transfer type' option in 'Settings' which was set to 'Auto'. When I selected 'Binary' there, the discrepancy disappeared. Another, smaller, SQLite database (290,816 bytes) was transferred correctly. It had a period in its name, but no recognizable extension. So I believe that filezilla wrongfully defaults the type of file without extension to 'Ascii'. When the type of file isn't known, and 'Auto' is selected, it should default to 'Binary'. version 3.6.0.2 |

Description |
I've used Filezilla for many years, but after today's update (to version 3.8.1) I can't connect. All goes well with my username being accepted, but when it gets to password, the response in green says "530 login authentication failed" and a red message appears "Critical error. Could not connect to server." I've tried shutting down Filezilla and starting it up again, but always the same message. Help please. |

#9655 | New versions download to wrong directory | low | duplicate | 10 years | 10 years
Description |
The last 2 versions of FileZilla have downloaded to the wrong directory. (3.8.1 & 3.9.0) When a new version is available, I get a dialog stating that a new version is available and has been downloaded to my Downloads folder. This is not the case. Instead the versions are being downloaded to my Documents folder. I would expect the archive to be downloaded to my Downloads folder, since this is where everything else ends up. (preferred) Or I would expect the dialog to tell me that the downloads are in my Documents folder. |

#9698 | 3.9.0.1 crashes display driver | low | duplicate | 10 years | 10 years
Description |
same bug as ticket #9658 installed newest 3.9.0.1 it crashes the display driver every 3-4 clicks with the mouse. Then it recovers itself and you can continue using Filezilla. Error has to do with the Filezilla version 3.9.0.1 program, not the display driver. Even though you rejected the previous ticket. Tried to find an older version, but not yet succesful.I am sure that will also solve the problem for me, but it is not my ideal solution. Kindest regards, Sandra |

ALSO, whenever a file gives an error it should be kept in the queue so that you can retry!!! This level of unreliability make FileZilla completely unusable. You have to check all the files one by one, because there may have been any such random error and you wouldn't even know. I think this is a regression. I have used FileZilla for ages and had never seen such a thing before. Example log when uploading a folder called "runtime" within one called "protected": Status: Starting upload of /home/teo/Documents/xxxxx/protected/runtime/application.log.4 Error: Directory /srv/www/xxxxx/protected/runtime: no such file or directory Command: cd "/srv/www/xxxxx/protected" Response: New directory is: "/srv/www/xxxxx/protected" Command: mkdir "runtime" |

#9950 | incorrect size of file displayed at the download progress | low | outdated | 9 years | 9 years
Description |
Hello. Here is the scenario. In the remote directoy the file that I want to download is being builded (an sql backup) and the size displayed for Filezilla Client is X. then when I note in the SSH terminal that the dump has been finished, I proceed to download with FileZilla client, and the issue here is that Filezilla uses the size of the file detected the last time reviewed, and not the final size (then an incorrect file size is displayed in the progress of the file that is being downloaded). thanks for your attention. |

Description |
After upgrading to the latest release, I am now presented with a Unknown certificate dialog window. The 'Always trust certificate in future sessions' is disabled and cannot be selected. Although I connect to the requested site by just clicking OK on the dialog page, transfers fail with a response message of: 550 The supplied message is incomplete. The signature was not verified. Prior to upgrade, I was able to connect and ftp files to the requested site without problems. I tried un-installing and then installing the latest release, but still have the same problem. Thanks for a great product. I hope you can help me resolve my issue. Pat |

Description |
I'm having trouble with editing of files. When I open Filezilla, and edit a file, no trouble. If I close that file in the associated application, then try to edit again through the Filezilla interface, I get an error that reads: "The file myFile could not be opened: The associated command failed." myFile is the actual path and filename of the file I'm trying to edit. I'm editing with Notepad++. If I close Filezilla, and reopen, this error clears, but the process starts over - it only effects re-editing of a file that has already been edited. |

#10054 | After updating to 3.10.0.1 cannot update our busness website | low | rejected | 9 years | 9 years
Description |
Updated to version 3.10.0.1 and after updating I cannot update our business website because it says it not connect to the server. I had no problem updating our website with the previous version which I think was 3.10.0. I checked with the server and the server Tech support says the problem is with File Zilla and not with the server. This is urgent to get fixed as we have wrong information for customers on our website. |
