#8347 reopened Bug report

Automatic Update from 3.6.0.2 to 3.7.3 fails

Reported by: Kevin Fegan Owned by:
Priority: normal Component: FileZilla Client
Keywords: Cc: kevinf2002@…
Component version: Operating system type: Windows
Operating system version: Windows 7 x64

Description

I opened FileZilla (Client) and was informed a new version was available and was asked to confirm update.

Next, I was asked to confirm where to save the setup file.

After the file download "completed", I was notified there was an error downloading the file.

I repeated this attempt a few times with the same results.

Manually downloading the setup file resulted in a successful download and successful update to FileZilla CLient Version 3.6.0.1

I am running Windows 7 x64 (fully updated) with AMD Quad Core and 8GB Ram.

Error: File transfer failed

Additional info...

The progress bar shown during the transfer seemed to go fine, to at least most of the way across (perhaps all the way across).

Transfer rate was fairly steady at about 100 KiB/s (KiloBytes/second ?). (Max, about 115 KiB/s).

The highest byte count I can remember seeing was about 4,4xx,xxx Bytes, but I'm sure it went higher before it failed. The failure happens quite "without warning" (no pause in transfer progress"), and the progress bar is removed very quickly, so it is hard to tell the exact point that the error occurred.

On the 4th attempt, the transfer succeeded !!!
"File transfer successful, transferred 4,702,459 bytes in 47 seconds".

On the 5th attempt, the transfer failed again (4,6xx,xxx++ Bytes):

Do you still have the problem when updating to FileZilla 3.7.0.1?

Just tried it again to Auto update to version 3.7.3 and it still fails. It is failing to download the update file.

I have tried it about 6 or 7 times, and it always fails at around 2-seconds remaining.

Here is the update log:
