Description
I uploaded a file to my server through FileZilla. I realized a typo in the file name so within filezill I renamed it to the appropriate name. I then when to check within a web browser if the file was viewable and it was not. The permissions are all correct and it is in a publicly viewable folder.
Further looking into it I found that the file that filezill was showing versus the files that were on the server were different. Out of the 4 files in this folder the one I had change with filezill had not been changed on the server. The server was reporting the old info.
I called the hosting comapny, host gator, and they had no issues with the server or the ftp. So I remove the filezill version I had on my PC, windows 7, wiped all the info out and got the newest version from your site. I added the folder from the zip file to my comp and ran the program. When I ran the program it came up with all the server information already in it.
Two questions,
- How did it come up with the server info if I deleted the older program and
- Why is the program not showing the correct files or uploading them.

Open FileZilla settings. On the left, you have a list of configuration pages. Select "Logging". Enable logging to a file. Enter a new name, so a new file will be created rather than an already present file extended. Also tick "Show timestamps in message log".
Select "Debug" configuration page. Tick "Show raw directory listing".
Finally, connect to the server in question, do whatever you did so that you encounter the problem again. Attach the log file here. Please also mention the timestamp of when you notice the problem, so that it can be found much easier in the log file.
Please note that all your actions on the server are logged. So best is if you delete the log file before you start FileZilla, in case it already is present. Then simply connect to the server and do your stuff for debugging. Once done, close FileZilla and attach the file here.
You then can disable logging to file again, if you want to.

1) You unfortunately did not mention how you uninstalled FileZilla, so I do not know. Maybe your settings are saved in the registry (if you are using Windows), or inside "~/.filezilla" if you are using Linux (or Unix-like) and you did not delete them or instructed the uninstaller to not remove them.
2) Can you please provide logs with "raw directory listing" enabled and attach them to this issue? This is to see what the FTP server actually returns when you tell it to list a directory or refresh a directory listing.
