Binary instead of ASCII

Description
I transfered .htpasswd file to remote server selecting option as ascii. Hoever, when i access the transfered file, I see it as 'unknown file type(binary file)
How to make sure the file is transfered only as ascii only.

If you uploaded the file, I guess you are using FileZilla Client and as such asking for that one, instead of FileZilla Server.
What do you mean by "access the transferred file"? The file type usually is based on the file extension which in your case is "htpasswd" - the text after the last dot in the file name.
Your system most likely does not have the extension "htpasswd" mapped to anything, so it showns "unknown" or whatever.
Please be more verbose or provide a screenshot.
