Description
I am able to create and delete directories on a server
running Ipswitch WS_FTP Server 5.03 using FlashFXP and
WS_FTP Pro. However, when attempting to delete a
directory using FileZilla 2.2.9, a sharing violation
error occurs on the FTP server. This only occurs when
using FileZilla as the FTP client.

A sharing violation is typically encountered in Microsoft
Windows when a file lock has been obtained (and not
released) on a file system object by one process and another
process tries to open its own file lock on the same file
system object.
However, in this case, the Ipswitch WS_FTP Server daemon is
reporting such an error, but there is obviously no file lock
in place as I can delete the file using Windows Explorer or
any other FTP client. This is obviously bad error reporting
on the part of the FTP server, but the point is that there
is something about what FileZilla sends during a delete
operation that it does not like.

This bug report has been closed due to inactivity and has possibly
already been solved.
You can reopen this report if the issue still exists in the
latest version of FileZilla (Server).
Could you please explain what exactly a "sharing violation" is?
