problems with german umlauts

Description
Dear filezilla team,
with downloading a file containing german umlauts and / or a directory with german umlauts an error occurs with cannot open file.
I am using the latest 3.3.4.1 version.

I can't believe that this sould be a problem on the server. Other clients like cute ftp or core ftp lite can handle german umlauts without errors

Doesn't matter. If a server is violating the specifications by using a non-UTF8 character set, the result is undefined, it may or may not work.
Simple analogy:
Imagine there's a tunnel and that regulations say a tunnel should be 4 meters in height. A truck comes along that's 3.5 meters high which for some reasons doesn't fit into the tunnel. Now you are saying that the tunnel is fine and the truck is to blame since you tested the tunnel by driving through it just fine in a compact car. But in reality, the tunnel just isn't to specs.
