Description

It would be great to have a native file browser for the local view. You could have it be a view option so that the views are togglable if you were reluctant to remove the existing view.

It would also open up the possibility of having other shell extensions and context menus available without additional programming.

While a native file browser would be nice to have, there are lots of drawbacks:

  • Difficult to integrate since FileZilla is cross-platform, it runs on many different operating systems, not just Windows
  • Several key features of FileZilla, like filters or directory comparison would not be possible with a native file browser
  • I don't even know how to implement it, I'd probably have to use COM which is overly complex and not well supported by MinGW (the compiler used to create the Windows binaries of FileZilla)
