Fails to get update file

Description
Filezilla indicates that there is an update and I click through to get it. It gets the description and then fails to download the update file. It does create the file but it is of zero length. The program then fails to be responsive requiring forced termination.
This has happened for several versions.
Today I tried the update but with the file of zero length present and it did d/l the update file.

Maybe there was a connection issue to the FileZilla Project Server, or it was done or unavailable. Anyway, FileZilla shouldn't freeze even in such case.

Several versions up to and including 3.1.3
The problem repeated today. I started version 3.1.3 and got 'new version available'. I clicked for it to be d/led and the changes were listed. I clicked to d/l the update file and the display changed. The progress bar did not even start much less advance. I terminated it click the upper right corner X. The update window closed. A few minutes later the main windowed gray out and windows reported program not responding. An empty file was created.
I tried again and was ask if I wanted to replace the empty file. I said yes and if failed again.Se
