#3453 closed Bug report

Never loads when opening directory with many folders

Description

I have a directory with 22,000 folders inside. It doesn't matter how long I wait, filezilla gets stuck on "Here comes the directory listing". If I close it and go back to the dir again it loads rather quickly. It always stalls the first time.

Even if I try to drag the file into the directory I want without opening it filezilla insists on trying to get the directory listing (probably to check if file already exists?).

Which version of FileZilla 3 are you using? Which is your operating system/platform?

I've tried on both 2.2.31 and 3.0.8.1. I have WinXP home with all updates.

Maybe it's trying to recursively count all files inside the folders before proceeding, which really isn't a good idea because there's over 3.5 million.

Do other FTP clients work? FileZilla doesn't do any recursive work when listing a directory. It sends a LIST to the server and parses the responds it sends.
