#3441 closed Bug report

Local directory tree incorrectly refreshed

Reported by: sholsinger Owned by:
Priority: normal Component: FileZilla Client
Keywords: Cc: sholsinger, Alexander Schuch, Tim Kosse
Component version: Operating system type:
Operating system version:

Description

FileZilla v3.0.8.1 under Windows XP Pro x64 Edition SP2

Expected behavior:

When refreshing either via the 'Refresh' button or with 'F5' the application would then refresh both the local folder contents pane and the currently expanded folders in the folder tree.

Actual behavior:

When refreshing either via the 'Refresh' button or with 'F5' the application refreshes the local folder contents pane but does not refresh the folder tree pane.

Steps to reproduce:

1) Open FileZilla.
2) Open a local folder.
3) Within Windows Explorer or some other program, create a folder within the selected folder from step 2.
4) Return to FileZilla and click 'Refresh' or press 'F5'.
5) FileZilla will now display the new folder within the 'folder contents pane' but not within the 'tree view pane'.

Screenshot [attached]:

The attached screen cap shows two folders that were added between refreshes. Prior to refresh the green highlighted entries were not shown.

Expected the green highlighted items to also be displayed in the labeled 'tree panel' list.

I was able to reproduce the problem with non-visible newly created directories on Windows Server 2003 Web Edition Service Pack 2 32bit using FileZilla 3.0.8.1.

While playing around I notice even stranger local tree refresh bugs. See attached images.

I am in that directory and the tree looks as shown. I then refresh the display and the tree looks as shown afterwards. If I then enter a directory which is not visible in the tree, the tree gets refreshed properly again. But if I then go back and refresh again, directories vanish again.

I tested with FileZilla 3.0.7.1 on the same platform, and the before/after refresh issue mentioned earlier did not happen. So it looks as if this bug has been introduced with either 3.0.8 or 3.0.8.1 version of FileZilla.

Regarding the initial bug report here, I noticed in 3.0.7.1 that a newly created directory gets shown if the parent folder is selected in FileZilla, as it is the case in the provided screenshot by sholsinger. However, the newly created directory gets NOT shown if the parent folder is NOT selected (but maybe a sibling folder of the parent).

Hope it helps.
