Description
The fzsftp.exe bundled with the Windows binary of FileZilla uses the registry keys of PuTTy's Default Settings configuration.
If you have set a default hostname or IP address in PuTTY, FileZilla cannot connect. Also if you are trying to connect to server that only allows private key as authorization, you won't be able to connect in FileZilla. You'll need to set a key in the default settings of PuTTy.
These two programs dependencies needs to be split.

Fixed in SVN.
Anyhow, you should misuse the default settings like that. (No idea why putty even allows a hostname in the default settings)
As for the private key part, use pageant.
