Description
When adding a shared folder, other than the home folder, the user should be forced to enter a name and the vitual FTP path. The way it is now (v0.9.24), adding a shared folder without an alias, is meaningless, since it doesn't appear in the client's list.

Sure, but the folder must have an alias, right?
Otherwise it can't be used.

I discovered what you mean. The only case where a folder can be used without an alias is when it is located (physically) under the home folder.
According to this, I would suggest to add a detection whether the new shared folder is within the home folder; otherwise, the user will be prompted to enter a virtual path & alias.

It appears that this isn't going to get implemented. I'm closing this ticket due to its age.
Depends. You can share additional shared directory as a subdirectory of another shared one to give different permissions.
