#2461 new Feature request

Support calculating and reporting a file's hash or checksum

Reported by: sahagesi Owned by:

Description

it would be nice if the filezilla server gets a crc
checker for sfv oder md5 files - if something (files
or dirs with a sfv-file for example) is uploaded to
the ftp-server it could be checked and marked as ok
oder bad or missing so.

Would this eliminate partial/truncated uploads?

Implementing XCRC would be a better solution.

Should also be implemented for FileZilla Client as (unfortunately ;-) not all FTP servers run FileZilla.

Priority: blockernormal

Feature requests can't be blockers.

Since there is a workaround (manually running commands on the server/client), I've set this to normal priority.

It appears that FileZilla Server has experimental support for an FTP HASH command. (Tim Kosse is one of the authors of that specification!) There is some information about enabling the HASH command in FileZilla Server in the forum.

In addition, I found information about @sahagesi's mention of .sfv files and @c0d3h4x0r's suggestion to implement the XCRC command.
