Automatic account lockout / IP Ban

I would like to suggest adding an option to
automatically disable an account when the user fails to
login a certain amount of times. Also there could be a
checkbox to automatically add an IP ban after a certain
number of failed logins or an excessive amount of
connections.

This would help defend the server from the common FTP
brute force attacks.

Already implemented. After a few unsuccessful login
attempts, further login attempts from the same IP address
are severely throttled automatically.
