Description
it would be great for FileZilla to ask for a master
password (once per session) to 1) connect to a saved
site, 2) modify an existing site or 3) add a new site.
I think something like this would fix some other
password requests that I have read, such as showing the
actual password versus *. Firefox does something
similar for its stored passwords.
Thanks for a great product and considering this feature
request!

I forgot to mention that this goes for all settings, including passwords, sites, and everything else.

See TracTickets
for help on using tickets.
FileZilla 3 (beta), the next major version of FileZilla Client, stores the passwords in clear text. It is up to the user to properly protect the configuration file(s). Microsoft Windows offers the possibility to encrypt files transparently, and on Unix there are encrypted file systems. So this all is up to the user's choice if they need their passwords encrypted or not.
