Some discussion about sounds took place in the following RFE:
[ 897954 ] upload/download buttons with arrows
Use it for looking up things, but please reply here, thanks.

Maybe give the user the ability to select what to do on certain events: Play sound, flash program in taskbar, open non-modal dialog box, etc.

Taken from:
[ 735804 ] Play a sound on connect and final timeout
- notification on successful connect
- notification on failed connect
- notification after last (failed) retry

(I am using v3.0.11.1)
I found that you can set the queue to play a sound when it completes, (right click queue-Action after queue completion...) but that selection does not persist when the program is shut down and restarted. I would request that the sounds mentioned before (connect, disconnect, successful transfer, failed transfer) be offered as options whose selection is persistent.

I am devastated by recent changes in SmartFTP and have decided to go with Filezilla instead. 'Good Move' - at least I think so. But the lack of audio cues is a problem. What use is multiple tasking if you have to keep watching the window?????? I am always uploading client data and working on the next item while the uploads proceed. I can't hang around watching and waiting. Ughh!
A sounds panel in 'Preferences' is a definite must. Missing it is almost enough for me to go elsewhere. Found a good one too - but it lacks a tree view, so for now, FileZilla is it. Please - get a sound set up panel.

Coming from WS_FTP, I, too, am disappointed in the lack of sound preferences in FileZilla. Other than that, I love the program. I need to be able to start a file or series of files uploading and then switch to my graphics program or editor to work on the next one. Having to right-click on the queue each time to tell the program to play a sound is an extremely inconvenient extra step. Please allow us to set sound preferences. Or, at the very least, allow the ability to make "play sound" a persistent option. Thanks! And keep up the great work!

I too would like to have a persistent option to emit a sound when the queue completes.
I think it could be simple to get the action of right click menù available also as preference.
Thanks in advance.

I would like to add my voice to this feature request please. I see it has been 9 YEARS since this was first raised and it google searches show it is one of the most popular requests, being requested by literally hundreds of users!!
(unfortunately all requests/queries on the forum generally get met by either condescension/dismissal by admins, then ignored - some people have even offered sound files to help).
Please, please, implement this.
(note i am actually using the ubuntu version).
thanks

An example of how such a dialogue could look like has been given in #3797.

14 years and counting!
I too like FZ very much, but would very much like noticeably different sounds for "Transfer was Successful" and "Transfer Failed." (I get failures mostly because I forget and leave the file open in the editor.)
Thank you for FZ and your consideration of these requests.
My feature request is same. It would be greatful if we could
set specific sounds in FileZilla to indicate transfer completed
or failed.
