Please clarify, did you update macOS or did you update FileZilla Pro?

According to 1649221311365.jpg your version of macOS is very outdated. Please update your operating system to the most recent version.

Does this issue still persists after updating your operating system?

I would like to bump this, as I got the very same error. logs are not telling anything useful.

I'am running it on a Synology (dockerized FileZilla) and do, like many others receive the exact same error. Searched the whole web, but could not find any solution.

I today noticed this error, when I for security reasons switched from FTP(s) to SFTP. When running the same from my Windows computer everything works fine.

Any help would be appreciated.

@M4rt1n: Same error, same answer: Please update your version of macOS.

08:16:37 Trace: Could not create shm_fd_

Very, very outdated Linux kernel by chance?

I don't use macOS. I run this on my Synology in a docker (docker gets the same kernel as the host).

$ uname -r
3.10.108

So my kernel version is the one from my Synology DSM v7.1-42661. As I just read, Synology does not update the kernel, so mine probably will forever (like the one from a lot of others) stay at v3.10. But other SFTP cli tools work just fine on this Syno. So would be a pity if FZ would not support older kernels anymore.

Just in case you would be willing to look into this:

  1. it appears from jlesage/docker-filezilla:v1.29.0
  2. jlesage/docker-filezilla:v1.28.0 is still working.

The only updated between these two tags are these:

FileZilla    3.51.0 ==> 3.52.0
libfilezilla 0.25.0 ==> 0.26.0

So one of those versionchanges breaks the compatibility on my setup and on many others aswell. If you google the error you will find several french and also other posts about exactly this error. I really can't image this was undetected for so long. Or people are just using old versions of FZ.

Anyway many thanks for your application and maybe there is a good way in between, to keep thinks up to date and still have support for Kernel Versions like 3.10. Which a lot of synologies are using and will never be upgraded.

Hope that helps a little.

P.S.: I know this was posted with the addition "macOS" but actually appears for way more people (if you search google) on docker.

I indeed can see a lot of SFTP changed after v3.51.0.
In the changelog they ATM start here: https://filezilla-project.org/changelog.php?page=15&type=0&changes=25

You need to update your kernel. We simply cannot support antique, outdated systems.

Ok, thanks anyway.
It would be good, to see the kernel version under the requirements. Maybe with a notice, that SFTP (thats the only thing affected by this) does not work on newer versions etc.

Again about the kernel, since you probably again did not read my post:

  1. I use a Synology NAS!
  2. they don't upgrade the Kernel!

Thanks.
