#12562 new Bug report
Uploading folder causes endless recursion of ".." in queue
Reported by: | BobbyBadass | Owned by:

Priority: | normal | Component: | FileZilla Client |
Keywords: | recursion bug | Cc:
Component version: | 3.56.0 | Operating system type: | Windows |
Operating system version: | Windows 10 |
Description
Dragging a folder onto the target server adds thousands of ".." onto the queue. This never resolves and the program must be closed. I have downgraded to 3.55.1 which is working fine.
Same problems occur on my colleague's machine (also Windows 10, but completely different hardware).

After further testing, it appears only to happen when uploading a folder from a mapped network drive (see recursion.png, attached). In this case, the folder was empty.

Most peculiar.
Over which protocol is the network resource mapped? What server software is used to host the share?

"Over which protocol is the network resource mapped?"
In Windows 10 Explorer, right-click Network>Map network drive...
Sorry, that's all I know.
"What server software is used to host the share?"
I think it is called "MyFiles".
I am just a designer so don't have access to detailed information about our systems.

I can confirm that nightly release 2021-10-22 is working fine!
Cannot reproduce.
Does it happen with all directories, or only with some?
