#12277 new Bug report

Crashing after many file uploads

Reported by: Ben Glancy Owned by:
Priority: normal Component: FileZilla Client
Keywords: Cc: Ben Glancy
Component version: Operating system type: Windows
Operating system version:

Description

I have left the FTP to transfer thousands of files but it keeps crashing every 250000 files or so (roughly).
My workaround is to right click the file queue and export the queue because it seems to still allow that. Then I can restart Filezilla to try again.

This is Windows Server 2012 R1 but the problem could exist on any for all I know.

With this error attached.

Hi,

I would to add this was FileZilla 3.50, and also that the screenshot says "Successful downloads" with only ~50000 downloads or so but I was clearing it periodically for fear of excessive GDI objects being created to being a possible cause.

Is there a crash report? They are located in %LOCALAPPDATA%/CrashDumps

Please submit the most recent dump from FileZilla.

How much total system memory do you have? Do you by chance have Windows' page file disabled?

It isn't disabled, it's set to 4gig but it's worth mentioning the system is struggling for disk space, it current has only 1 gigabyte left.

I'll open another ticket perhaps for this, but FileZilla Server sometimes wipes the Filezilla Service.xml file which has all the user profiles in it, losing all the users - when the disk space is full (you have to be careful to restore some disk space and reopen the settings in FileZilla so that it resaves it rather than leaving a zero-sized file).

Our backup CrashPlan software won't backup system files (Program Files) so we keep getting into a pickle with disk space in general which is why I'm trying to move it all off the server and onto a new one with a better spec.

But having a gig of RAM I would have thought would be enough just transfer files one by one off it?
