just encountered the same issue with 3.37.1 (Arch linux, x64).

Turns out, if the settings->transfers->"maximum simultaneous transfers" is set to 1, the problem doesn't seem to happen.

This does make the transfer horrendously slow, however.

The server appears to be schizophrenic.

Which SFTP Server software (product _and_ version) are you using?

It is written in the message log if you set the debug level to 2 in FileZilla and then connect to the server.

I'm having exactly the same issue, but I'm on a Mac. Been using Filezilla for eons, and now I can rely on uploading files, as some files are been upload to a complete different folder of where it should be.

8 Command: local:/Users/fearlex/localdev/site.com/wp-content/plugins/advanced-custom-fields/images/sprite.png => remote:/srv/users/site/apps/ha-v2/public/wp-content/plugins/advanced-custom-fields/css/sprite.png

I can provide the log too, this started happening a couple official updates ago.

I ask once again: Which SFTP Server software (product _and_ version) are you using?
