I have had far too many updates and this startup message will not go away. Is there a way to get rid of it?

The file in question has become damaged. Please repair it in your favorite text editor to salvage the remaining data or delete it if you do not mind losing its contents.

In the future, please always shut down your computer orderly to avoid such corruption.

You're not making sense. The program works. I click OK and it opens. I just keep getting the message before I can use it. There use to be two messages, but since the last 2 updates only one stands. It started doing this 6 or more updates ago. I thought maybe someone has a solution.
