|#5643||duplicate||"Check For Updates" Does Not Work When There Is A HTTP Proxy|
I have to use a HTTP Proxy to communicate with the Internet; if I stop using the proxy and use a direct connection to the Internet, I cannot access HTTP via my Web browser.
Ever since I have had to use the HTTP Proxy, the "Check For Updates" cannot access the FileZilla information over the internet. Here is a log:
Status: Disconnected from server Status: Downloading /updatecheck.php?platform=i586-pc-mingw32msvc&version=22.214.171.124&osversion=5.1&osarch=32 Status: Resolving address of update.filezilla-project.org Status: Connecting to 126.96.36.199:443... Status: Connection attempt failed with "ETIMEDOUT - Connection attempt timed out", trying next address. Status: Connecting to 188.8.131.52:443... Status: Connection attempt failed with "ETIMEDOUT - Connection attempt timed out". Error: Disconnected from server: ETIMEDOUT - Connection attempt timed out Error: Disconnected from server Error: File transfer failed
However, when I access the URL "https://184.108.40.206/updatecheck.php?platform=i586-pc-mingw32msvc&version=220.127.116.11&osversion=5.1&osarch=32" from IE, which is using a HTTP proxy, I obtain a respose; here is the response:
nightly 2010-10-19 http://filezilla-project.org/nightlies/2010-10-19/i586-mingw32msvc/FileZilla_3_setup.exe sha512 365565943362ae605ae680c09c9260c1dbc915d11d63899700f304a85cb5090f0d257f9096e608bf1c731297ba843677d1d0b81d93cc829edfae4fbcdc7484a1 release 18.104.22.168 http://downloads.sourceforge.net/filezilla/FileZilla_22.214.171.124_win32-setup.exe sha512 d4e0b0eaf4f3767e37df12063e7d79f74ac8005535e829b99e1feb0f0541c3343570fc892e020f99087d31de20d01e797d7476ab2cfd94c28a78d0e8b732e0cd
Can the "Check For Updates" be modified to use a HTTP Proxy, either using the one configured in IE or one configured separately in FileZilla?
|#10610||worksforme||"Check for Updates" dialog reappears after update|
On starting the program, the "Check for Updates" dialog box appears asking to update to "126.96.36.199" I click "Install new version" and click yes on the Windows User Account Control dialog to allow the program to install.
The updates install, the program restarts and the "Check for Updates" dialog box does not appear. The version listed is 188.8.131.52 in the About section. The check for updates menu item gives me the dialog box "You are using the latest version of FileZilla."
I select File->Exit to exit. I restart the program and the "Check for Updates" dialog box appears asking to update to "184.108.40.206". I close the dialog and check the about section.
The version is now listed as "3.11.0" and choosing to install the new version restarts the process.
Other information: I have tried manually uninstalling, restarting the computer, downloading a new copy and reinstalling the software with the same result. When opening the program the version listed does not advance past "3.11.0"
I have noticed that the updates will accumulate in the dialog box until I click "Install new version" but after the updates install and I close the program, reopening it will show only the most recent update as still available in the "Check for Updates" dialog.
I did install FileZilla Server 0_9_51 at one point on the same computer but it has since been uninstalled.
|#10652||duplicate||"Check for updates" dialog is very tall|
Help > Check for updates...
The dialog is very tall. In Debian GNOME, with top bar and window list there is not enough room to show the whole dialog, so i can't see the close button at the bottom.
Screen is 1366x768.
With window list disabled i can see part of the close button, but still not the whole dialog.
