Replying to codesquid:

Where exactly have you entered it as viewer?

Regardless of whether I specify the viewer as C:\Windows\System32\MetaPad.exe or set MetaPad.exe as the default associated viewer in Windows, FileZilla doesn't see MetaPad.exe in the C:\Windows\System32 path.

Any particular reason why you have installed MetaPad into that directory?

Programs should be installed under the Program Files directory, not into the Windows directory, which is reserved for important system components, not normal applications.

Since C:\Windows\System32 is a special location, it is subject to the filesystem namespace virtualization under 64bit Windows versions. In particular, since FileZilla is a 32bit program, it does instead see the contents of C:\Windows\Syswow64 mapped into c:\windows\system32

Solution: Install MetaPad into an appropriate directory.
