Deleting Symbolic link removes linked directory

Description
When attempting to delete a symbolic link on a linux
server, filezilla 2.2.4f deletes the directory the
symbolic link links to and does not delete the symbolic
link.
After the linked directory is deleted, the symbolic
link remains and when you attempt to delete it again,
it continues to look for the linked directory which was
already deleted.
Desired action: When deleting a symbolic link, it
should just delete the symbolic link and not the
directory it links to. Also filezilla does not delete
symbolic links at all.
