#5560 closed Feature request (worksforme)
Keep getting asked which action to take despite specifying it

Description
This is very similar to #4891, except this is on Windows using 3.3.4.1
FZ says "Target file exists"
And I say "overwrite if source newer" and also "always use this action".
FZ then keeps asking me anyway.
Please make this work properly - really, really annoying when dealing with lots of files, as I do throughout the day.

Of course I've restarted in between :o)
However, please see attached. If I go with those settings, it will ask me the same question many times (in the same session, for the same transfer). I suspect it's because there's multiple "queues" and it wants asking for each of them. I'm a lowly PHP scripter though so what do I know?!

We're entering July 2011, this was reported August 2010...

This is still a problem for v3.5.3 Win 7
This makes Filezilla unusable for my needs

I figured out the problem.
If I choose "Always use this action" and "Apply to current queue only" it won't affect files that haven't been queued-up yet. Then moments later they get queued-up and it asks me again. This made me think it was just ignoring my choice.
So it'd be nice if there was an option along the lines of "Apply for the rest of this session only"
Should I submit this as a feature request?
I'll donate $100 if this is implemented. It will save me a lot of time.
Thanks

"Always use this action" without "current queue only" lasts until you quit Fz.
Do you need this to persist between exit/restart of the whole application?
As for money, I think the devs are buried enough that $100 wouldn't really affect their decision. This is a low impact problem (small number of users, limited testcase). I would recommend you look into building a patch and submitting it here.

Even if you need it persistent between Fz restarts, that option is available under "Settings" -> Transfers -> File exists action
Default is to ask, and your per-session, or per queue toggles override this.
If you want it forever, then make the change in "Settings".
If you want it only for your current session, but not the queue, then don't set "apply for the rest of this session only". Maybe a misnomer, but apply for rest only specifically talks about the current queue, and clears the setting once it hits zero.
If this is not the case, then please come back and reopen this bug, and re-explain.
Did you restart FileZilla in between?
Note that changes made in the file exists dialog only apply to the current session. For permanent changes you need to access the settings dialog.
