When editing a file, once FileZilla has noticed the file has changed, it pops up it's "file has changed" dialogue which steals focus from my text editor. Needless to say this is extremely annoying. I am running Filezilla 3.2.72 on Ubuntu 9.10, 64-bit.

Hostgator said SSH needs port 2222, Which FZ rejects as not in the range of 1 to 65565. DUH!

I recently installed Dreamweaver and now I'm getting the message below when trying to edit php files. php files are not associated with Dreamweaver. I'm using the latest version of Filezilla.

The file 'C:\DW\premierparts.ca\acceptDecline.php' cannot be opened: The associated program (WX_DDE#"C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Dreamweaver CS4\Dreamweaver.exe","C:\DW\premierparts.ca\crm\acceptDecline.php"##System#) could not be found. Please check your filetype associations.

(The exact messaging was taken from an unsolved ticket, but it's the same for me, just different file names.)

FileZilla Client 3.3.0

This problem has to do with closing a tab while it is still attempting to connect to the server.

Steps To Reproduce:

1. Open A New Tab
2. Connect to a server
3. While still connecting (before first directory listing) attempt to close the tab. You should get a confirmation dialog since the tab is active.
4. Click "No" on this confirmation dialog
5. Attempt to use FileZilla.

In my experience, this freezes the tab area, while the rest of the UI works just fine. Even while the dialog is still open, the tab area is frozen until you hit "Yes", and remains frozen even after hitting "No". I don't even get the first directory listing.

Messages are not properly constrained to the Message Log area. They spill over and are displayed on top of the Quickconnect bar and Toolbar (directly above the Message Log area) as new messages are produced. (See screenshot)

Randomly wont resume on uploading. Starts from the beginning. also happened in 3.3.0.0 prior versions to this never saw this fault. seems to do the directory listing and sizes right. FTP port 21 mode. windows XP

When name contains polish character such as: ółęćż [I tested only such cases] I'm not able to download this file.[ sample name: Skóra.mp3]. I got enough privileges.

This is an issue which seems to be previously solved, but I believe it re-appeared at version 3. (The previous ticket #: 4052)

On Solaris 9, when the locale settings are as follows (in /etc/default/init)

the folder list is incorrectly parsed and the filenames shows like this:

When remote file search is initiated after connecting to a remote UNIX server; and the relevent file name is put and SERACH button is pressed : the dialog box named "Target file already exists" appears for each file in that remote directory.

e.g. if I serach for test.scr file and the remote directory has 100 .scr files; that dialog box appears again and again for each of the files.

Since, this is only a SEARCH operation and we are not transferring a file; the above metioned dialog box should not appear when we serach for file.

I got a nasty problem with 3.3, when i double click on a folder (or file), I will sometime enter the folder but at the same time, get into rename mode (like when I slowly select a file and click again to rename it).

The tricky part is click e.g. on a directory named "files" and having in file a directory named "img" in the same position of the files dir on the screen (behind the cursor after entering the files dir). I enter the files dir, see it's content but also see a folder being renamed, the folder name being "files". Pressing escape to cancel the rename action will in facts rename the "img" dir into "files". The original files directory will not be renamed.

This happens also when uploading a file by double clicking. After the first upload, the file is still selected. Single clicking on it will either :

• Go to rename mode (if the cursor has moved after the first upload)
• Do nothing (normal behavior)
• Upload the file again (cursor did not move after the first upload)

Double clicking will often upload the file AND go into rename mode. I have to hit escape every time in upload the same file. Or I have to unselect it.

I am using the mac version of filezilla.

When i click on a folder it sometimes opens up the dialog that allows me to edit the name of the folder. But if you leave that dialog open then double click the same folder it takes you to that folders contents and the folder or file at the same position as the previous dialog is still open, deselected that folder makes the name change. Thus saving the file/folder with the incorrect name.

Please read the following situation:

• 2 PCs one with win7 x64 and one with XP Pro. x86
• 1:1 FTP Config on both computers
• more than 5 ftp servers, which work on both PCs

The Problem:

• one ftp server (vsftpd) work only on Win XP !
• one both computers ftp on browser works with this vsftpd ftp server...

That mean ​ftp://user:pw@host works

• the problem occurs at different networks

I keep geting this error.

I cannot delete a file because I do not have permissions to. I chmod the file to 777 but the response is: Command: SITE CHMOD 744 index.php Response: 550 Could not change perms on index.php: Operation not permitted

Chmod the directory to recurse into the file doesn't work either.

I am trying to connect to a server that must be in active mode due to the firewall. I have changed the transfer setting from default to active. FZ during the connection sends a passive mode command to the server and then I get dumped out. We have verified all the settings for the transfer, but when the passive command gets sent the connection fails.

we use Filezilla Version 3.3.1 and a generic proxy with socks 5 (dante). the problem is, that the servername will be cut after the 16. character. when we try to connect "emma.tv5paris.org" we get the messages "Could not connect to server" in Filezilla and in the dante-logfile we find "Jan 26 14:48:58 (1264513738) danted[8539]: sockshost2sockaddr(): gethostbyname(emma.tv5paris.or): Unknown host".

Im using latest Filezilla 3.3.1 version

When i open the filezilla ftp client, it shows the following error.

Using Filezilla 3.3.1 Download and Add files to queue is not actve in the menu All other commands work perfect. Listing, editing etc. I was using Filezilla for last month and since yesterday both automatic commands "Download" and "Add to queue", start to be inactive. I can download the file manually only but it is very long procedure while I am build the web page. I have already reinstall the software. Helps nothing. Logging from different computer, works fine. I have reinstalled XP system from the last week backup. No result.

Please find the attached file, I have tried many ftp sites to download any files, but when click right-button mouse, the menu "Download" and "Add files to queue" are disappear.

I use latest version of Filezilla 3.3.1 and under Window Vista operating system. However, it is very strange, I use the same version of Filezilla in Windows XP system, but there is no above problem, just found on Windows Vista.

I am working under Windows XP SP3 with filezilla client 3.3.2

I am extensively using the "Folder compare" feature of filezilla client and I am using the option to preserve timestamps when uploading files.

After uploading a file on the box, filezilla client still says that the files are not the same. There is a 1 hour difference in the timestamps.

I am connected to a remote linux box throught its sftp server

The linux box is not on the same timezone as I am.

I don't get this behaviour when I use an other sftp client like winscp so I guess this must be a bug coming from filezilla.

After the latest automatic upgrade was actioned I am unable to logon to any ftp site. The build version and date details are FileZilla Client 3.3.2 built on 2010-02-21

I'm currently unable to download files over 30kb in size, the transfer starts and works normally, until 30kb has been downloaded, then for some reason the connection gets dropped, and the transfer restarts. Just before this was happening however, I was getting a 451 Broken Pipe detected error message.

Hello, I am a Filezilla 3.3.2 user on Mac OS X 10.6.2. When I am sending my files to a remote server I click and drag them to the right side of the window and release the mouse button, so far so good.

When I am sending just one file, that's when the mess happens:

All files are unselected, OK? I click in one file and the line get's a blue background. When I click again (and hold) to drag the file to the other side of the screen, the line changes to rename. So far, no damage on my files. If I don't do anything, the cursor stays there, to rename the file, if I click outside, it gets renamed OK.

If I click up there to order for filename, filesize or last modified, the file (for renaming, with a cursor for type waiting) stays in the same place on screen, it doesn't go to the place it was supposed to go, stays in front some random file that was ordered there, if you click outside to stop the renaming... I AM SURE THAT THE FILE THAT IS BEHIND, ON THAT POSITION GETS RENAMED TO THE NAME OF THE FILE I WAS RENAMING, AND THIS FILE (THAT I WAS RENAMING) GETS DELETED FOREVER!

I lose a lot of files for this matter.

You can do this to make sure (I just did).

1) Create 5 files: 1.txt, 2.txt, 3.txt, 4.txt, 5.txt, put them in the same directory, open them and just put a number on the file and save them. Then we get: 1.txt = 1. 2.txt = 2, etc...

2) Now open Filezilla and locate the folder. We get this:

1.txt 2.txt 3.txt 4.txt 5.txt

Now click ONCE on 2.txt to select this file, then click again on 2.txt (the cursor to rename appears).

3) Now click on filename (up there) to reorder by filename DESC. The screen is now like:

5.txt 2.txt (to rename) "4.txt is behind this" 3.txt 2.txt 1.txt

4) Now click outside. The 4.txt file just vanishes and if you open 2.txt, what's inside? 4

Now imagine this with a big web system, a lot of files missing and a lot bad renamed. I think it's a pretty serious bug because I use a lot the "Last modified" column to order, to make sure to send the files that was last modified.

Dragging files from remove FTP to local disk will result in unpredictable tranfers. When I drag one file from httpdocs it tranfered the complete httpdocs to local disk.

Once it even renamed a folder "downloads" to "nzbvortex-0.5.0.zip" which was the file I wanted to drag locally.

Very very badly broken now. I've remove the .filezilla from my home and the preferences from ~/Library/Preferences/de.FileZillaxxx and redownloaded the latest stable.

I am very sure I am not making an invalid drag operation.

I am trying to download from Solaris 10 into Windows XP a file containing ':' character. The complete filename is following: UAS_EDR901-06-09:210216.tar.gz

Filezilla shows it downloads the file, but in Windows I get the filename truncated to "UAS_EDR901-06-09" with 0 size.

I downloaded the upgraded version of your software about 3 weeks ago. Two weeks ago my brand new website crashed but most of it re-uploaded without issue. A day or two later I started to have problems on my older website. Links in an uploaded document had changed so when you clicked the title the link went to the wrong document. Is there a reason that links can change like that? I check them after each upload so I know that they start out correctly. Also Filezilla does not seem to be uploading all of the code for the pages in my older website. Example: One page's file size is 94,718 on my hard drive but when uploaded it is only 93,751 - all 9 webpages have this issue. I tried re-uploading with no success. I also tried deleting the pages totally and re-uploading....initially the file sizes matched but when left for a few minutes it reduces again. A couple of times the page would start to display the correct file size during the upload but by the time the upload finished the size would drop again. I have also re-installed your software but that did not help. Though nothing appears to be missing there is a physical difference in the way the pages on my hard drive and the web copy displays when viewed through a browser.

Also periodically when I open FileZilla I find random pages that are no longer being used have mysteriously just uploaded back on to the web. That was the case last week - I found 5 old pages (that are deeply nested in folders) uploaded with my regular web content. In trying to discover why these mysterious uploads might have happened I discovered the file size and display issues.

It is critical that I get this fixed because the older website is a repository for legislative and regulatory information & heavily accessed.

Trying to transfer a text file from Windows to an Unix machine with FileZilla it happen that on Unix machine into the text file at the end of the transfer there is a "^{M" at the end of every line. Trying to transfer the same file with other clients (i.e. CuteFTP or CoreFTP) it works. Also forcing "ASCII tranfer" there is the same bug}

Everytime I edit a file with filezilla it adds a blank line inbetween each tag. Every line of code is now separated by fifteen blank lines and I don't know why...

When I right-click on a remote file and choose View/Edit, I get an error message that says "DDE Execute request failed: A request for a synchronous execute transaction has timed out." The file I am trying to edit is web.config which I have associated to open with Notepad++. When I click View/Edit in Filezilla, it opens Visual Studio 2005, displays the error message in Filezilla, and does NOT open the file.

Since I updated to 3.3.3, filename filters that use "Path">>"Contains" causes Filezilla to filter out all directories and files.

For example, I used a filter for git files "Path" "contains" ".git"

which used to filter out git folders but filters out everything.

I have several dozen SSH key pairs on this system. When trying to connect to an OpenSSH 2 server using the SFTP protocol, and try to authenticate with a password (as provided in the site manager), authentication fails and I end up with this message:

Too many authentication failures for <username>

What happens is that FileZilla uses pageant, detects thse key pairs I have, connects to the server and doesn't send my password, but tries as many of those key pairs as it can, which I have never asked for (I have not imported any of my SSH keys to FileZilla). After a few failed authentication requests (due to non-matching keys), the server drops the connection. My log (edits are marked <like so>):

Hi, I use "ftpes" to download files from a webserver, mostly php,css files. I noticed a strange behavior.

In some files, when using ASCII or Auto transfer mode, extra CR(carriage return) characters are added at the end of each line, causing a [CR][CR][LF] instead of [CR][LF].

If I download the file directly from the server is fine (not using filezilla)

Haven't found replication steps yet, but has happened to me several times.

I tried to upload a number of files into a server through FileZilla by clicking a file, then Shift Click that resulted in a selection of 11 files. Then, I drag & drop the files to the server file list.

Opted to overwrite the existing files > Always use this action > Apply to current queue only.

All the 11 transfers then failed.

I always used the "Classic" theme and after updating from 3.3.3 to 3.3.4-rc1 this was automatically changed to the "OpenCrystal" theme. I then changed it back to "Classic", but after a restart it was again "OpenCrystal".

This problem doesn´t occur when you use e.g. "Blukis" as a theme.

View/Edit function doesn't work any more after upgrading to 3.3.4 rc1 version. Tested on Notepad++ and Dreamweaver cs5.

In 3.3.4-rc1 drag-and-drop function fron Windows Explorer does not work. From explorer panel inside the Filezilla itself it does not work either. The only way to transfer a file is double click - only this works which is very inconvenient

In 3.3.4-rc1 when I click on the remote file or right click and select view/edit
the file downloads to the temporary folder
but the editor does not open with the file and the files being edited table does not get updated.

I am using vista on an hp pavilion dv9700. The program has been working fine and now I am getting this error.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling and also upgrading but now nothing is working.

Attempting to upload a file to an FTP site by dragging from the desktop results in the attached message. It seems the newest version of FileZilla (3.3.4-rc1) is failing to place a slash between the source directory name and the source filename.

the file and dir name are merged therefore filezilla can't find the file to upload

Hi, I have a problem when open a new tab in creation of a new connection or simply when press CTRL+T, FileZilla simply terminates.

I executed FileZilla in a terminal and get the following error:

filezilla: relocation error: filezilla: symbol _ZN13wxAuiNotebook15SetSelectedFontERK6wxFont, version WXU_2.8 not defined in file libwx_gtk2u_aui-2.8.so.0 with link time reference

I think this is a recent update of wxWidgets that is causing the problem (A few days ago), the problem is mine o FileZilla/wxWidgets may be fixed?

When I click on the buttons above a column to toggle between ascending or descending order, the arrow doesn't switch up or down. This happens only on clientside (left screen), not serverside (right screen). The arrow also stays on one column when another column is clicked.

When transferring files the drag-drop page icon stays on the destination window. There is one icon for each time a file/group is moved to destination with drag and drop.

The icon stays until the program terminates.

When FileZilla is told to trust a self-signed certificate, that certificate will be accepted for any connection. For example, if I trust a certificate from some random guy for my connection to ftp.randomguy.net, that certificate will also be treated as valid for filezilla-project.org, google.com, sourceforge.net and so on.

The certificate (or rather FileZillas trust in the certificate) ought to be bound to a specific hostname or to a specific site in the site manager.

Steps to reproduce the problem:

1. Generate a valid self-signed certificate and configure an FTP server to use it.
2. Connect to the server with FileZilla and choose to trust the certificate.
3. Copy the same certificate to a different FTP server (and set it up).
4. Connect to this second server with FileZilla.

The result: FileZilla connects without warnings to the second server, even though the certificate belongs to a completely different server.

It is not fixed (Ticket #4672).

That's a reality, you filezilla developers have to face it, soon or later.

When you change your attitude in this matter, we your fans, will glad to describe you the steps to reproduce the behaviour, again.

Hello, until the latest version (3.3.4.1) everything always went "smooth" without problems... with this latest version now 1 or 2 files out of a group of around 7 to 10 or more images do not transfer... they stop at some random % and don't transfer after restarting FZ, selecting the file(s) that was/were not transferred and "re-transferring" it/them, it works... happens every time and it's kinda frustrating i have not changed any settings, only change was updating to the latest version below the info about my version (MAC)

I've been using FileZilla for years now but lately I have to move to another FTP Client due to some issues I'm having.

FileZilla version: 3.3.5.1. Processor: AMD Phenom 8450 Triple-Core Processor 2.10 GHz RAM: 2GB System:Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bits.

I am a freelancer, web developer, basically using Flash, PHP and MySql. Daily, I need to upload/download files from my Server or my Clients.

After testing my applications in my local environment I upload it to my Server for a remote testing and allowing my Clients check work evolution and suggest corrections, changes, etc.

Since last week I started to have issues after uploading files to my Server:

a) although all files were uploaded properly, with no error messages and all of them being in its proper folder, application refused to work as it was working in my local environment.

b) I observed that some files were having different size in my disk than in my Server. Since I have moved recently to a new WebHosting (Linux) I thought this could be due to a different method Linux had to calculate the space on disk, I don't know.

c) some files, although displaying the same size in my disk than in my Server what lead to think it had been properly uploaded, when testing they refused to be loaded. This was easily detected with Flash movies (most of them forms) and graphics, simple graphics like backgrounds or headers (.png and .jpg). All of them small to middle file sizes (2KB - 200KB). FileZilla showed the files were in their proper folder, Server's FileManager application also showed that the file was in its proper location, Browser's "Source View" feature showed that the file/s were been called at the right places but the file/s didn't show up in the browser.

d) Tracking the application step by step (logically, not with a debugger because the app was not able to start the debugger, the application didn't start at all!) I could detect that some text files were having weird content merged with the actual content (attached you will find one of the files snapshot). I really cannot say about other files content (like Flash or graphic files) since I'm not able to read their contents as one can do with a text file. But those text files, definitely had a different content than its corresponding in my local environment.

e) trying to upload those files once and again (using auto, ASCII or binary) did not show any change: always the same weird content merged with the actual content (black diamonds with a question mark inside).

I talked to my Server's support staff (InMotion) and they could not explain me what could this be due to. And I can't remember where these guys or IXWebHosting support guys (my former Server) that suggested this could be due to a FileZilla misfunction. I refused to accept their suggestion but, just in case, I downloaded another free FTP Client (Core FTP Lite) and the same files and directories were uploaded once again with successful results: no file was missing, no size was different and all files content (texts, graphics, flash, databases, etc) were exactly the same than in my local environment.

I have been searching in previous reports of similar issues and couldn't find any similar to mine; then, I cannot understand what weird configuration should I have that may be causing this deformation.

Since I love FileZilla, I feel very confident with it and very familiar with all its features after using it for so many years, I feel very extrange using any other FTP Client and would like to return to use FileZilla as I used to in the past.

I would appreciate any suggestion/s you could give me and if you need further explanation, questions or whatever, please, do not hesitate to let me know.

When I double-click (or choose "open") on a ".doc" file in Windows explorer, it opens in MS Word.

In Filezilla, if I choose "open" or "edit" on the same (local) file it opens Wordpad. Wordpad it the second application in my "open with..." menu.

The same happens with other extentions: source code which opens with notepad, etc.

FileZilla should use the default/first application associated with the "open" action.

When I open the program, the title bar is too far into the mac os program bar, that none of the icons are visible in 16x16 mode, nor is the window able to be moved.

When connecting Filezilla with my FTPServer I can download all files, but I can't upload new ones or delete them. by pressing the delete botton it asks me if I want to delete but after clicking "yes" and refreshing the files are still there. When selecting a file to upload and clicking the "upload" botton nothing happens. I use FileZilla client version 3.3.5.1 and no antivirus or firewall is running.

When issuing the following command for example:

start filezilla ​sftp://sfl_support_admin:m4cew1ndu@10.240.1.50/paul mannion

I get the following error: "Unexpected parameter mannion"

It works fine for directory paths with no spaces. Any help gratefully appreciated.

Today i have encountered a critical error while trying to fetch file that was starting with spacebar. It totally forbids me from downloading the files as server response 550 - file not exists.

I am finding that these icons (Open Site Manager, etc.) keep disappearing when moving in and out of the Filezilla windows. They only reappear when I mouse over where they used to be. Is there any way to make them stay visible continuously? Thanks!

In some cases a private key file (ppk) cannot be loaded from the file system to be used for SFTP authentification.

This happens when the ppk file name or the path to the ppk file have special characters like German Umlauts.

Whether the ppk file name is provided by the FileZilla or PuTTY settings is irrelevant.

Only exception: If 'iso-8859-1' is set as the charset of a connection in the Site Manager, the ppk file name is interpreted correctly.

I have been using FileZilla and PCTools internet security concurrently without problems for 5 months now. The new version of Filezilla appears to modify it's own binaries after EVERY command line sent/received. This means I have to "allow" it 5 times just to make a connection, let alone navigate or upload/download.

If the new FileZilla does modify its own binaries, wouldn't there be problems with most firewalls/security software? It seems that data should be stored externally in some sort of database.

This log is anonymized. Size of cloudy_violet.JPG is 833,949 bytes. Filezilla 3.4.0 client (Linux) with encryption (Require explicit FTP over TLS).The connection timeout is nonsense. The FTP server is the last one which is sending an ACK and is waiting for Filezilla to do something - checked with wireshark. Without encryption, everything is working fine under Linux - but with encryption see this log. Only max. 180,224 bytes per session possible. Firewall was not active. Filezilla 3.4.0 client under Windows Vista is working flawlessly (with no encryption and encryption, too).

Everytime I try to upload a video to the server, I get this message. It is for my domain name steveruprecht.com

When I open filezilla (3.4 version) i receive this message :

Can't open file filezilla.xml (error 5: access denied)

Why ? Can I delete this file ?

I am using filezilla 3.5.0 on windows 7 and find that the traditional Chinese folder names and file names became monster characters in the "remote site" box, but it is normal in the lower box.

This causes the failure of viewing and opening of the folder.

We are running into one issue to delete file. The file name contains QUIT as part of fil name, like "Hotel Quito - JW Marriott.pdf". Please help!

Version of FileZilla is 3.5.0

I was prompted to update version and my ftp connections no longer work since upgrading to version 3.5. Build date 2011-5-22.

This is a repeated problem I've had with FileZilla, where certain folders get "stuck" and won't delete, no matter what I try. There are several in our Current Releases directory that I've been trying to delete for months. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Starting filezilla.exe either directly or with shortcut generates this error message:

Users\PM\AppData\Roaming\FileZilla\filezilla.xml Error reading Attributes For this session the default settings will be used. Any changes to the settings will not be saved.

As a result, the settings are dropped, and any settings entered cannot be saved. This bug appeared suddenly, without any cause that I can identify. It could not be corrected by uninstalling and re-installing, and it could not be corrected by downloading a new setup file and re-installing that. I will answer any questions that would help de-bug this. Thanks for helping.

Toda vez que eu clico em algum arquivo dentro do FileZilla 3.5.0 e arrasto para a area de trabalho ou para alguma pasta sempre ocorre este erro "Não foi possível determinar o destino da operação de arrastar e soltar."

Our FTP server (Globalscape) has a no list files permission, so clients uploading cannot view or list the files on the server (security reasons). This has been working fine with previous version of FZ (3.1, 3.2), however in the latest version of FZ 3.5, this no longer works. Other FTP clients work fine also. As it used to work fine on previous versions of FZ, and now on new v3.5 no longer works, then I would categories it as a bug. Our problem is that we recommend our users to use FZ, as it's very simple robust, but were now getting clients reporting problems as they upgrade. Problem occurs on both the Windows and mac clients.

I recently discovered that files with umlaute (ö,ü,ä, …) are not shown in the directory listing or the directorys itself.

The Windows version works fine, it’s only am Mac problem. I use the newest FileZilla version. The problem exists on Snow Leopard and Lion.

I think this issue is also described in ticket 7406

With Filezilla Client 3.5.0 there are a lot of information that don't show correcly. The symlinks don't show it, owner and group show the uid and permissions show strangely.

Server is ProFTPD 1.3.3d Server (ProFTPD Default Installation) with UNIX Type: L8.

The same ftp work fine with WinSCP.

host is linux; connect by ssh; ie. the file is test.txt; flush file list now it say file is 5KB; but sever is writing the test.txt; by the end is may be 1MB; don't flush,allway it show text.txt is 5KB ; down it, the rate of progress is 100%; but it's not finished.

I have done 3 times. I am using FileZilla 3.5.1 on my PC, MS-Windows, Ver 5.1(Build 2600.xpsp_sp3_....:Service Pack 3) I want to transfer 62,424 files, with names like PHO_0xxxxxxx-5_1003457.HL7;1 to an USB drive (E:) on my PC. I am connected to a VAX OpenVMS V8.2. To gather the names (LIST in FTP) takes about an hour. I then do a CTRL-A on the names in the "remote directory" screen, and put it into the "Home" screen. I am also watching My "Task Master" Perforamce tab, to watch the CPU Usage screen. After about 45 minutes, CPU Usage becomes 100% usage and no more files are being copied. I "stop" Filezilla and check the number of files on my USB "Memery stick" and all 3 times the same number files, 16,385. 16,385 = 214 + 1. These files are anywhere 1KB big to 120KB big. And they are 100% text files, or HL7 files.

If we Download a File from a FTP Server, the Rights are changed. And we can't change it with chmod or a system buil-in GUI afterwards. We have to download it as a zip or as a .dmg for mac then it works. Theres not the rights themselves who are false setted. Because after chmod 777 the rights should be setted right and it also shown. But still we have no permission to write...

my web host, pacifichost.com supports 6 concurrent connections. Ive tried filezilla and like it but one thing is making me switch to smartftp...

Even though I set under settings - transfer max simultaneous transfers to 4, somehow it keeps going OVER this hard limit.

And my web host then blocks me out for about a half hour. Other ftp apps this isnt a problem. I would say this is a showstopper.

I'm hosting a FTP server with explicit TLS and recently enabled TLS 1.1/1.2 on it. Now a few users reported to me (and I could reproduce this) that they couldn't connect to the server due to a GnuTLS error being displayed. Other clients using GnuTLS (but those are using newer version from what they've told me) or Windows CryptoAPI/CNG (ie SmartFTP) can still connect flawlessy.

Server: IIS 7.5, SSL 3.0, TLS 1.0,1.1,1.2 enabled, explicit mode. (with 1.1/1.2 disabled, it works)

When connecting to any of the sites in my connection list the toolbar icons disappear. I have been checking to see if this problem has been fixed in the new releases but have not seen anything, not knowing if you know about it I thought I would let you know. I get wrong date when listing the remote directory. sFTP on FreeFTPd ver 1.0.11 on win 2003 SP2 FileZilla Client is 3.5.1 running on windows 7 FreeFTPd is 1.0.11 on win 2003 SP2

The dates listed in FileZilla is wrong. 2011-10-28 are listed as 1970-04-04. It can possibly be a problem in FreeFTPd, but WinSCP lists it correct. In WinSCP there is a switch "Misinterprets file stamps prior to 1970". This is set to Auto in my case. Would this be possible to implement in FileZilla?

So it's about the storage of unencrypted password ... I know a lot of ticket has been posted about this, but there is a reason for that.

I perfectly understand your reason to do that and I understand it's "by design". I know you can fix that problem with the kiosk mode option in the filezilla.xml file.

I just think that :

1) This option should be available directly in the preference window of the client gui. It's not an "advanced" setting, it's a critical setting so you shouldn't hide it in some xml file. A lot of people want to change that behaviour of storing the password, and so go to the preference window ... and find nothing. Adding that cost you nothing, even in term of "design" or "philosophy".

2) When first using this software you don't know your password is gonna be logged in clear text, nothing tell it to you. In the whole software industry nobody do that, even Micro$oft with Int€rn€t €xplor€r ask before storing a password. User should be aware of that. So there is 2 solutions : you ask the user the first time at the first use or you put the default value of kiosk mode to 1 (so you still log an history of servers but without the password).

To conclude, I can understand that by design you want to make your users life easy, but I can't understand that you want to store ssh (sftp) password in plaintext without him knowing about it. I'm just asking you to make users more aware of that choice, to help them make enlightened choices.

I recently received an update notification and downloaded/installed FileZilla Client 3.5.2. Since then, I cannot get a file to transfer. I have been uploading a similar file for over two months and now, only after the update, it will not transfer.

I put in the queue 2 file and ans to start download from server. It passed the size of the file and contnued until i terminated the program. The time left pass the EOF didnot move, Percent stayed at 100% moved size kept increasing above the original. See enclosed jpg of the screen. Both files after program termination were damaged. Transfer type was on Auto.

When I drag some files from server file list to a local folder, it crashes.

Ir returns a message when I exec filezilla from command line:

Segmentation fault

I'm using Filezilla 3.5.0
