#4882 FileZilla Client (Win X64) + vsftpd server + FTPES normal rejected 15 years 15 years
Description

Connecting from Filezilla client, (tested: running on Vista Business x64 or XP Professional x86) to a vsftpd server (running on Ubuntu 7.04 x86 and Ubuntu 8.04 x86 (two servers) ), using FTPES and TLS authentication. Works fine, but when the client is closed or the "disconnect" button is used, it doesn't seem to disconnect from the server properly, not closing down the SSL session:

Mon Oct 12 12:30:47 2009 [pid 17113] [ftpusername] OK LOGIN: Client "11.22.33.44" Mon Oct 12 12:31:11 2009 [pid 17114] [ftpusername] DEBUG: Client "11.22.33.44", "Connection terminated without SSL shutdown - buggy client?"

I get this on both servers, with all kinds of FZ-Windows clients. Other clients I tested seem to disconnect correctly.

#4890 Missing mingwm10.dll after upgrade to 3.2.8.1 blocker rejected 15 years 15 years
Description

The installer for FileZilla 3.2.8.1 (Win32) correctly installed the new version. After finishing the installation, the new version started.

However all hosts were lost. After closing FileZilla, it does not start again, saying that mingwm10.dll is missing.

#4892 double download high rejected 15 years 10 years
Description

After being downloaded some files have twice the size of the original and indicated size such as 30.2MB instead of 15.1MB. These files work normally, if exe or zip or pdf files but they are excessively large. During progress report the % indicator arrives at 100% downloaded when the expected file size has been transferred but the transfer process just continues while the progress indicator remains at 100%.

The issue has been haunting me for a while but not from the beginning. At some update the issue first disappeared but then returned. I just updated to 3.2.8.1 but that didn't help.

OS: Win XPPro/SP3

Thanks for your help

#4900 Unable to connect more than once. Connections unstable normal rejected 15 years 15 years
Description

I have this problem with most, if not all sites. I am able to connect one time, and after a few minutes, the connection gets dropped. If I attempt to reconnect, I get the following error messages:

Error: Could not read from transfer socket: ECONNRESET - Connection reset by peer Response: 425 Unable to build data connection: Connection refused Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing

I called a host called Hostgator technical support, and began to describe the problem, and the tech person basically finished my sentences and described the problem back to me. He said this is a known problem in FileZilla.

There was a new version available - which I installed - but it did not resolve the problem.

Thank You William Gunn

#4904 Trojans in files normal rejected 15 years 15 years
Description

I am having a problem with multiple trojan attacks to files unloaded through FileZilla. Multiple checks have been done on my computer files for the contaminated files with no problems showing. But after I upload it through FileZilla it seems to be becoming contaminated. Can you check this out on your end? I am receiving multiple alerts on the uploaded files. Green Olive Tree hosting is checking things from their end. I have just today downloaded what I believe is the most current version of FileZilla. 3.2.3.1 10-20-2009

#4908 z/os uss directory/file errors normal rejected 15 years 15 years
Description

Problems with FileZilla client 3.2.8.1 and z/OS USS directories and files. These happen with servertype set to "default(autodetect)" or "MVS, OS/390, z/OS" in SiteManager.

If I issue a change directory for USS in z/OS, the FileZilla changes the second or later / to a . in the directory name.

Command: CWD '/etc' Response: 250 HFS directory /etc is the current working directory Command: PWD Response: 257 "/etc" is the HFS working directory.

Command: CWD msussl Response: 250 HFS directory /etc/msussl is the current working directory Command: PWD Response: 257 "/etc/msussl" is the HFS working directory.

At this point I really am in directory /etc/msussl but it displays in FileZilla as /etc.msussl

File transfers are also being messed up. Sending a file to /etc/msussl should end as /etc/msussl/file but FileZilla is sending it as /etc.msussl(file).

Command: STOR '/etc.msussl(CA.der)' Response: 125 Storing data set /etc.msussl(CA.der) Response: 250 Transfer completed successfully.

Retrieving a file does this also. This should have been retrieving file /etc/msussl/CA.der

Command: RETR '/etc.msussl(CA.der)' Response: 550 Command RETR fails: /etc.msussl(CA.der) does not exist. Error: Critical error

#4912 Failed to retrieve directory listing with Blue Coat FTP service (firewall) - starting from Filezilla version 3.2.4 normal rejected 15 years 10 years
Description

I've noticed connection failures in the more recent versions of Filezilla. The error that is shown is 'Failed to retrieve directory listing'.

Not all FTP sites are affected as far as I can see, only sites supporting MLSD are affected.

This issue was seen in 2 corporate networks (both using Blue Coat FTP service). As well Windows computers (Windows XP SP3 tested) as Linux computers (Ubuntu 8.10 tested) are affected.

Please find below some logs of different Filezilla versions. All versions older then version 3.2.4 seem to work fine. Please note for security reasonsm usernames, ipaddresses, filenames , ... have been modified in the log file.

#4978 Wrong file/directory name by server side. normal rejected 14 years 10 years
Description

I connect to SCO UNIX ftp server. I use polish version of FileZilla Client. Files/directories with modification date in October ('październik' in polish) have wrong name in server side view panel. I can't use this files/directories (get, open, ...). I think diacritical character 'ź' is the reason for this bug. Name of directory is: 'mounth day time realname', for example: 'paź 21 9:21 adm' (modification date of this file/directory is 21st October)

Example of this situation you can see on attached picture.

Sorry for my English.

#4995 When locale set to TR, file and folder list becomes garbled high rejected 14 years 14 years
Description

Hello,

This is an issue which seems to be previously solved, but I believe it re-appeared at version 3. (The previous ticket #: 4052)

On Solaris 9, when the locale settings are as follows (in /etc/default/init)

LC_COLLATE=tr_TR.UTF-8 LC_CTYPE=tr_TR.UTF-8 LC_MESSAGES=C LC_MONETARY=tr_TR.UTF-8 LC_NUMERIC=tr_TR.UTF-8 LC_TIME=tr_TR.UTF-8

the folder list is incorrectly parsed and the filenames shows like this:

Kas 16 13:47 .bash_history Eki 23 2008 .profile

(This part is the datetime part: Kas 16 13:47)

#4997 Bug in FileZilla 3 - Could not read from transfer socket: ECONNRESET - Connection reset by peer normal rejected 14 years 11 years
Description

In FileZilla 3 I get the following Errors: Error: Could not read from transfer socket: ECONNRESET - Connection reset by peer Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing

This only happens on one server I connect to and I can connect and do a directory listing successfully to other servers on the same domain. It doesn't happen in FileZilla version 2 and I can connect and do a file listing on this server with KFTPGrabber so it seems to be an issue with FileZilla 3. I have found that if I go to the view menu and click refresh that sometimes it will reconnect and the directory listing will work but sometimes it won't. It's a difficult bug to squash I'll bet. I have seen others having this same issue in the forum. So just to be clear, I can connect, the error occurs when FileZilla attempts to execute the directory listing on the remote FTP server. The remote FTP server is running Microsoft FTP Service (Version 5.0).

#5003 Error: "cannot find specified file" when trying to GET a filename from a remote site normal rejected 14 years 10 years
Description

I am trying to GET a file from a remote FTP site to my local hard drive by dragging and dropping the file from the right pane to the left pane. The transfer works fine on regular file names in the exact same folder that only have normal English characters in them.

However, the filenames that have French characters in them are not transmitted because the foreign symbols are confusing the parser and turning into question marks (?).

How can I transfer these files with French characters in them?

Thank you.

#5020 Windows: FileZilla update uninstalls previous version normal rejected 14 years 14 years
Description

When FileZilla updates on Windows automatically (latest update was to 3.3.0.1), it uninstalls the previous version first.

This is annoying, because the startmenu sorting is broken afterwards when sorted alphabetically. It also forgets the folder "Local site:", which needs to be set again manually after an update.

The NSIS installer should be changed to just overwrite what needs to be overwritten without uninstalling the previous version first.

#5024 Trailing spaces in directory name does not work with 'vsftpd' as server normal rejected 14 years 14 years
Description

Using FileZilla 3.3.0.1 connecting to the popular FTP server vsftpd, we cannot access directories with trailing spaces.

Reading the changelog of 3.2.8rc1 suggested this has been fixed, but it is not.

Digging in deeper in all the tickets revealed that the server needs MLDS support, which vsftpd does not, so this has not been fixed for this case.

#5036 Making Filezilla more intelligent than the user. normal rejected 14 years 14 years
Description

I got disapointed to discover that the "Host" field in Filezilla Site Manager DOES NOT accept the string "ftp." preceding the domain.

MOST FAMOUS ftp clients as Cute FTP, allow you to use this syntax for HOST: "ftp.site.com" BUT filezilla seems to be unable to connect just because of this "ignorable" redundance in the HOST typed.

I believe that with a few lines of code you could ignore "ftp." or even alert the user: "Please inform only the domain!" what makes no sense, because if the program noticed that the user input has "ftp." in the beginning, it should simply remove internally by code and SIMPLY CONNECT SUCCESSFULLY.

I am starting to use Filezilla (as I am Open Source lover) but I found it so ridiculous that the program DOESN'T connect JUST because you wrote "ftp." before the domain, because MOST ftp programs accept this and it is NOT incorrect.

I didn't test it on Linux, so I can not afirm that the behaviour is Windows-only or not.

Please add this little intelligence in Filezilla, it is so bad that the program is unable to see that "ftp.site.com" is the ftp of "site.com"

An ideia that maybe could resolve this issue.

#5064 FZ damages network connection on Win7, freezes on WinServer08R2 normal rejected 14 years 10 years
Description

My Setup: FileZilla Client 3.3.0.1 on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2, Apple's FTP sharing server on MacOSX 10.6.2, working in gigabit local area network.

After I updated FileZilla to the current version on Win7, I successfully transfered 5 files to the FTP server. It was always the same file, I just modified it multiple times between the uploads. So after uploading this file 5 times, I tried to upload it another time. FileZilla tried to start the download, but instantly after starting, the network connection gets broken - I don't have any connection to my network now. I can use Windows' "troubleshoot problems" feature from the network icon's context menu, which will say the following:

Problems found The connection between your access point, router, or dable modem and the Internet is broken -- Detected The default gateway is not available -- Fixed

After that, the network connection works fine. But as soon as I start a transfer with FileZilla, it breaks every time. This is permanent, restarting FileZilla or rebooting Windows does not help.

FTP transfers with the Windows Explorer work fine.

I also tested this on Windows Server 2008 R2. The issue is quite the same except that instead of breaking the network connection, FileZilla instantly freezes the whole OS when uploading the file for the 6th time and afterwards. There isn't even a bluescreen, and no way to recover except for the reset button on my PC. The server is installed on the same hardware as 7. I had Windows XP installed on it before, and there were no issues with FileZilla.

I had an older version of FileZilla (can't remember which one) installed on Windows 7 before updating to 3.3.0.1, it showed the same behaviour. After updating, it did 5 successful transfers and then re-entered this permanent error state.

It might be a driver problem, but I see no reason why the transfer would succeed the first 5 times and fail afterwards - there has to be some FileZilla-specific problem behind it. Also, there are no problems with the Windows Explorer FTP feature.

#5110 wildcard SSL certificates *.domainname.com not properly supported normal rejected 14 years 14 years
Description

Hi,

1) We have a rapidSSL wildcard SSL certificate such as *.domainname.com and when I connect to something.domainname.com, filezilla still gives me the warning, even though it is a valid SSL certificate which is recognized without warning by both firefox and internet explorer over regular https.

Once we accept the certificate once, we never have the issue again (as long as we select to save our answer so it doesn't ask again)

however, it would be nice if filezilla could authenticate wildcard certs similar to what IE and firefox do over regular https for wildcard certs.

2) There is no way to see the downloaded SSL certificates so that you can review the list / clear it if necessary to force an full SSL cert check again at the next connection. (If there is a way, I couldn't find it).

Description

Product FileZilla Client 3.3.1 https://www.ohloh.net/projects/filezilla/download?filename=FileZilla_3.3.1_win32.zip

The client version was downloaded on Wednesday, January 06, 2010, 6:47:07 PM.

The client file name: FileZilla_3.3.1_win32.zip

The link used to get the file: http://d10xg45o6p6dbl.cloudfront.net/projects/f/filezilla/FileZilla_3.3.1_win32.zip

Originally, the file as shown by Windows XP, displayed a file size of 15,569 bytes. I uploaded the file to the Linux server and FileZilla read a file size of 15,501 bytes even though Windows reported a 15,569 byte file size.

I discovered that one specific character within the file caused the problems. I believe it was a null (character 0) character that caused the problems. Anyways, I do not know if FileZilla 3.3.1 failed to report the size correctly or if the Linux OS failed to report the size correctly. FileZilla showed two different sizes for the files on the two different systems.

I copied and pasted what I thought was text to a file but it had a character in it that SciTE accepted (but displayed as a space character Hex:20h, Decimal:32). I ran into this problem once before a long time ago, but I believe I used WS-FTP32 in that case.

Anyways, the problem that exists with FileZilla, as I see it, is that FileZilla would be a little better if it analyzed the file before it uploaded it, and if FileZilla found a binary character in an ASCII (text) file, it probably should alert the user.

One other thing, if it detects that the uploaded file is 15,501 bytes while the file to get uploaded (the source) is 15,569, I feel it should report that to the user with a possible explanation for the differences in size.

Thank you for your time.

Hello,
I've got a folder on my FTP server, with a space as name. It is impossible to access this folder using FileZilla Client. It looks like FileZilla takes the last modified date in a weird format (Jan 18 15:38) as "name" (and doesn't show anything in the "last modified" column), so the folder is "not found" when I'm trying to do anything with it.
I hope you can fix this annoying bug...

#5129 Filezilla forgets my default "File Exists Action" normal rejected 14 years 14 years
Description

I have my default "File Exists Action" set to "Ask For Action". I connect to a server by FTP. The first time I upload a file it asks me what action to take and I choose "Overwrite" and I do not select the "Always use this action" box. I can repeat this upload many times and it behaves correctly allowing me to choose to overwrite. After I have worked on something else for a while while leaving Filezilla running, making code modifications, for example, I then upload the same file again and it has forgotten that I want to be asked about overwriting.

The client continues to fail to prompt me until I restart the application, then it behaves properly again for an undefined period of time. The method I am using to trigger an upload is to drag a file from an Explorer window into the file list box of the Filezilla GUI. The times it has occurred, Filezilla has always been partially hidden behind other applications but I don't know how that affects it.

I will try some additional testing and see if I can reliably reproduce the problem.

I maintain three Windows Sites at AMHOSTING.COM. These all require ACTIVE transfer mode. Now, all three sites no longer work with FileZilla.

The earlier version worked fine. Native FTP sessions with (from Windows NT; Windows Vista 32 and 64 bit) FTP sessions using SMARTFTP (using ACTIVE transfer) work fine.

Your latest version doesn't work. Here is a log Filezilla ... and SMARTFTP

#5146 Directory Listing Fails on Windows 2008 IIS ftp server normal rejected 14 years 10 years
Description

When I attempt to connect to Windows 2008 IIS ftp server I manage to connect, however when FileZilla attempts to list the directory contents it fails. Settings the debug level to 4 I see:

Command: LIST Trace: CTransferSocket::OnConnect Trace: CTransferSocket::OnConnect Trace: CFtpControlSocket::OnReceive() Response: 425 Can't open data connection. Trace: CFtpControlSocket::TransferParseResponse() Trace: code = 4 Trace: state = 4 Trace: CFtpControlSocket::ResetOperation(2) Trace: CControlSocket::ResetOperation(2) Trace: CFtpControlSocket::ParseSubcommandResult(2) Trace: CFtpControlSocket::ListSubcommandResult() Trace: state = 3 Trace: CFtpControlSocket::ResetOperation(2) Trace: CControlSocket::ResetOperation(2) Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing Trace: CFileZillaEnginePrivate::ResetOperation(2)

Using the Windows FTP client, I am able to connect and list the directory contents without any error.

I'm not sure if it's relevant or not, but the user ID I have to use includes the domain (i.e. username = <domain>\<user ID>).

#5152 3.3.1 unable to make connections to addresses normal rejected 14 years 14 years
Description

I downloaded the new version of FZ as prompted just now. Everything installed as expected, but if I select a server via Site Manager, the address is resolved to an I.P. but the connection is not made. FZ is not hanging or crashing, it's still operable on the client side, but it will not make the connection to the remote server. I've checked access to servers by going through browser and pinging sites etc, so internet connection is good. _ FileZilla Client

There seems to be a bug in directory listening.

The problem folder is named " #complete# ". Using no ssl connection there is no problem with listening this directory, but if I use FTPES the status window gives following error message:

Fehler: GnuTLS error -9: A TLS packet with unexpected length was received. Status: Server hat die TLS-Verbindung nicht ordnungsgemäß geschlossen Fehler: Could not read from transfer socket: ECONNABORTED - Connection aborted

All other directorys work fine. Even subfolders from #complete# are accessible via the direct url.

To solve the problem I tried to force utf8 characters in servermanager settings. This had no effect.

Would be nice if you could resolve this bug.

#5179 Upload resume fails with incorrect message normal rejected 14 years 14 years
Description

Resume worked in earlier versions tried. This is now version 3.3.1.

I connect to the server, which failed on a 5GB upload with a timeout. When I resume, it starts and immediately fails claiming the user aborted. In debug logging, instead it says:

08:21:36 Error: Disconnected from server: ECONNABORTED - Connection aborted

It then repeats the whole cycle, over and over until I actually do abort it.

Attached is the full log from connection to giving up.

#5201 Filezilla crashes Windows 7 normal rejected 14 years 14 years
Description

Earlier this week I download Filezilla FTP client for windows from a link on your site. After installing Windows crashed and would not reboot. I had to repeair and set the system to a restore point. I downloaded the software again and had the same issue. I have an Acer 5538 with Windows 7 with windows 7 home premium which came installed. I love this software, do you have a fix?

#5207 text files upload normal rejected 14 years 14 years
Description

FileZila uploader removes one of two simbols of "end line" in uploaded text-files. In result, uploaded files are shorter than originals and have another structure. They cannot be used for control of users' programms.

#5210 FileZilla ignores leading space of filename normal rejected 14 years 10 years
Description

version 3.3.2 CONDITIONS:

  1. A server has a file with a leading space in its filename.
  2. FileZilla's directory display parses the name, removes the leading space, and displays the filename without the leading space.
  3. FileZilla is then unable to correctly reference the file by name for file deletion, renaming, etc. as the leading space is "missing" from commands issued by FileZilla.

I have confirmed this behavior by deliberately creating a file with a leading space on my server, and observing FileZilla's behavior, and noting FileZilla's attempts in the server's xferlog.

A bug search showed obscure reports made about this three years ago, but not well described.

#5217 SFTP get from OpenSUSE Server causes Vista 64 blue screen crash normal rejected 14 years 14 years
Description

Have an OpenSUSE 11.1 server that, when retrieving files from via FileZilla on 64 bit Vista, causes a blue screen hard crash. I can connect and login, list files, etc., but as soon as I double click or select transfer, I get a hard crash. I am on the current version of Filezilla (3.3.2) but this has been happening a while with older versions as well.

This does not happen on the same client machine with many other SFTP installations (including Solaris), so I am concluding that it is some oddity between the OpenSUSE SSH server. The OpenSSH version on the server is 5.1p1-40.15. I also see no logs on the server side indicating any type of error.

#5220 Cannot access Folder with French access on Mac FileZilla version normal rejected 14 years 14 years
Description

I have 2 computers a MacBook Pro running FileZilla 3.3.2 and a PC running FileZilla 3.3.2. On the same FTP server, I have a folder called "Denis à Ghislain". On the Mac version, when I will not see the folder but on my PC version I do. I renamed the folder Denis_Ghislain and now I can see it on my Mac version but I would like this to be fixed.

Thank you so much in advance!

#5247 MOV files listed as TEXT files normal rejected 14 years 14 years
Description

Hello,

I see that MOV files are listed in the settings/"Automatic file type classification" to be treated as ASCII. This corrupts of course Quicktime MOV files.

I found out that mov files are also used by matlab and could be text files, but I think the majority of people handling mov files today are transfering video files.

Could "mov" be removed from that list ?

Cheers from Geneva, Switzerland.

Marco.

#5285 Mysterious uploads and file size difference between hard drive and uploaded web page high rejected 14 years 14 years
Description

I downloaded the upgraded version of your software about 3 weeks ago. Two weeks ago my brand new website crashed but most of it re-uploaded without issue. A day or two later I started to have problems on my older website. Links in an uploaded document had changed so when you clicked the title the link went to the wrong document. Is there a reason that links can change like that? I check them after each upload so I know that they start out correctly. Also Filezilla does not seem to be uploading all of the code for the pages in my older website. Example: One page's file size is 94,718 on my hard drive but when uploaded it is only 93,751 - all 9 webpages have this issue. I tried re-uploading with no success. I also tried deleting the pages totally and re-uploading....initially the file sizes matched but when left for a few minutes it reduces again. A couple of times the page would start to display the correct file size during the upload but by the time the upload finished the size would drop again. I have also re-installed your software but that did not help. Though nothing appears to be missing there is a physical difference in the way the pages on my hard drive and the web copy displays when viewed through a browser.

Also periodically when I open FileZilla I find random pages that are no longer being used have mysteriously just uploaded back on to the web. That was the case last week - I found 5 old pages (that are deeply nested in folders) uploaded with my regular web content. In trying to discover why these mysterious uploads might have happened I discovered the file size and display issues.

It is critical that I get this fixed because the older website is a repository for legislative and regulatory information & heavily accessed.

Thank you for any assistance you can give.

#5292 Access to special path failed if the folder name has an extra space at the end normal rejected 14 years 14 years
Description

Thread recap:

Access to below folder path failed, the folder ”First vendor” was created by the vendor.

/First vendor

Command: CWD First vendor Response: 550 Failed to change directory. Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing

The problem is that the folder “First vendor” has an extra space at the end, so it was actually “First vendor ”, but we cannot see that in FileZilla client, and we cannot rename or delete the folder.

The folder can be accessed using other FTP software like “Leechftp”.

#5311 Showing transfer complete notification even when transfer is cancelled normal rejected 14 years 14 years
Description

Filezilla is showing the transfer notification that says: "Transfers finished. All files have been successfully transferred" even though I pressed Canceled.

Step to reproduce:

  1. Connect to an FTP server
  2. Download a file from the server
  3. Drag the file from the server to the client again, but when asked if the file should be replaced, cancel

Filezilla will still show the successful file transfer notification. It shouldn't since no file has been transferred.

I'm using version 3.3.1 which comes with Ubuntu Lucid but I downloaded the latest version (3.3.2.1) from the website and the same thing happens.

#5319 Filezilla fails to CWD into a directory with trailing spaces normal rejected 14 years 14 years
Description

Hi,

a co-worker has uploaded a directory "Button " and Filezilla 3.3.2.1 fails to CWD into that dir:

Command: LIST Response: 150 Opening ASCII mode data connection for file list Listing: drwxr-xr-x 2 ftp_xchange xxxxxx 4096 Apr 13 10:57 Button Response: 226-Transfer complete Response: 226 Quotas off Status: Directory listing successful Status: Retrieving directory listing... Command: CWD Button Response: 550 Button: No such file or directory Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing

I don´t know if that´s a FileZilla problem or perhaps is not supposed to work via FTP at all. And yes, having a directory with trailing spaces is retarded ;-)

Cheers Lars

#5347 Windows 7: network card crashes on multiple connections normal rejected 14 years 11 years
Description

In the current release 3.3.2.1 on my win7 x64 system I recognized a strange behaviour that causes my wired network card to "crash" which gets only working again after a reboot.

Following is happening, I reproduced it as described about 5 times: Downloading a huge amount of files and data from a standard webserver. To increase the overall speed, I usually download several files at a time time, mostly about 4. When 1 *bigger* file is currently downloading (> 40MB) and other *little* ones (> 5KB & < 100KB) are downloaded too, it stucks from *one moment to the other*. The described issue results in a completely freezed network card. No connections can get in or out anymore. From then it is impossible to change the IP address manually (or automatically), enable/disable it to refresh the network card or even send a ping to a known computer in the network. It seems that only a reboot of the system does help (if windows shuts down correctly, otherwise human needs to be stronger than computer by pressing the power off button)

(In the past I had a similar problem too, which was caused of too many open ftp connections because of many little files and an overhead for tcp connections, which then resulted in a stopped queue. But this queue could be continued after some minute when the server has ended all open connections in timeout and other network functions still worked.)

As already mentioned, I reproduced this about 5 times and while trying to find out if this can be avoided, following helps a bit:

  • Downloading only 1 file at a time -> many big files are not a problem, only small files even don't. Only the combination of *some* large and many small ones make trouble.
  • While downloading, I watched the queue and when a big file is currently running, I manually changed the options to 1 file so that the small files currently downloading get finished and then only the big one is left -> it worked without a problem. After the big file was finished, I switched to multiple downloads again until the next big one was coming. That was a bit annoying but still increases the overall download speed (for 4000 files)

Below is the currently used filezilla version, if you need additional detailed hardware/os information (dxdiag whatever) or more information that I might have forgotton here, let me know.

Thanks. btw. I really really like filezilla! great job :)

Conrad

#5383 multiple concurrent uploads fail with SFTP low rejected 14 years 9 years
Description

This may be related to this bug:

http://trac.filezilla-project.org/ticket/3477

Two years old and long since closed, but this appears to be the same (or a similar) issue.

Uploading multiple files in multiple folders, over SFTP, with multiple concurrent uploads (5 is my setting), doesn't work with all servers.

The problem is, the client makes no intelligent decisions about the order in which uploads are processed.

That is, if you're uploading "folder_a/file_a" and "folder_a/file_b", the order in which these happen to occur, is unpredictable - it depends on whether or when a thread happens to be available.

So when "file_a" begins to upload, the folder is created - but if at the same time "file_b" begins, and assumes the folder has been created, but the previous request didn't complete yet, it will fail.

#5406 Passive FTP isn't passive on the second connection normal rejected 14 years 14 years
Description

Hi,

SW: Filezilla Client 3.3.3, Windows XP SP3

I'm testing a PROftp server (externally hosted, on the Internet) to debug something. To help, I've also set one up internally on my LAN, and wanted to use Filezilla as the client. I'm testing on the LAN server first so I understand the ports in use etc.

However, Filezilla doesn't switch to PASV on the second time I connect to the server.

I define the server, and make sure that under Transfer Settings, its set to Passive.

I then login (log 1). you can see Filezilla correctly sent PASV. All looks good I then disconnect, and re-login again (log 2) by clicking on the drop-down toolbar. You can see from the log that the client doesn't switch to PASV.

The only way I've been able to re-connect in passive, is to close Filezilla and restart it.

I can't find this in the existing buglist.

Client and Server are on the same LAN.

Description

When accessing a site with a certificate that is unknown, the site certificate dialog opens, but the "always trust" check box isn't sensitive (can't be checked). Clicking the "Ok" button allows site access for that instance, and the site can be re-accessed (new login) while FileZilla remains continuously active. When FileZilla is restarted, the certificate verification steps must be repeated for that site. Very aggravating for such a site that one visits often.

Hi, I use "ftpes" to download files from a webserver, mostly php,css files. I noticed a strange behavior.

In some files, when using ASCII or Auto transfer mode, extra CR(carriage return) characters are added at the end of each line, causing a [CR][CR][LF] instead of [CR][LF].

If I download the file directly from the server is fine (not using filezilla)

Haven't found replication steps yet, but has happened to me several times.
