| Description |
Hello, I see that MOV files are listed in the settings/"Automatic file type classification" to be treated as ASCII. This corrupts of course Quicktime MOV files. I found out that mov files are also used by matlab and could be text files, but I think the majority of people handling mov files today are transfering video files. Running the client on macOS Sierra 10.12.3 (16D32) found the problem in FileZilla Client 3.25.0 using FTP protocol, english version Everything seems to work fine until I change to a specific directory on the server. ("db") Then filezilla crashes. So it's about the storage of unencrypted password ... I know a lot of ticket has been posted about this, but there is a reason for that. I perfectly understand your reason to do that and I understand it's "by design". I know you can fix that problem with the kiosk mode option in the filezilla.xml file. I just think that : 1) This option should be available directly in the preference window of the client gui. It's not an "advanced" setting, it's a critical setting so you shouldn't hide it in some xml file. A lot of people want to change that behaviour of storing the password, and so go to the preference window ... and find nothing. Adding that cost you nothing, even in term of "design" or "philosophy". 2) When first using this software you don't know your password is gonna be logged in clear text, nothing tell it to you. In the whole software industry nobody do that, even Micro$oft with Int€rn€t €xplor€r ask before storing a password. User should be aware of that. So there is 2 solutions : you ask the user the first time at the first use or you put the default value of kiosk mode to 1 (so you still log an history of servers but without the password). To conclude, I can understand that by design you want to make your users life easy, but I can't understand that you want to store ssh (sftp) password in plaintext without him knowing about it. I'm just asking you to make users more aware of that choice, to help them make enlightened choices. |

I got disapointed to discover that the "Host" field in Filezilla Site Manager DOES NOT accept the string "ftp." preceding the domain. MOST FAMOUS ftp clients as Cute FTP, allow you to use this syntax for HOST: "ftp.site.com" BUT filezilla seems to be unable to connect just because of this "ignorable" redundance in the HOST typed. I believe that with a few lines of code you could ignore "ftp." or even alert the user: "Please inform only the domain!" what makes no sense, because if the program noticed that the user input has "ftp." in the beginning, it should simply remove internally by code and SIMPLY CONNECT SUCCESSFULLY. I am starting to use Filezilla (as I am Open Source lover) but I found it so ridiculous that the program DOESN'T connect JUST because you wrote "ftp." before the domain, because MOST ftp programs accept this and it is NOT incorrect. I didn't test it on Linux, so I can not afirm that the behaviour is Windows-only or not. OK button Proceed to exit program so that 3.27.0.1 can install, which it seems to do. I go online, xfer files, and exit. Next time I open I get the ERROR message above with last word=restored. OK button Next day, apparently 3.27.0.1 did not install previously, because I am prompted again to re-install it. I've reinstalled thru this loop 4x now. Enough already! Tried download from Filezilla-project.org; 64bit Windows I do not want Web Companion Pro, so I select "No, don't protect me" I have 5 components to select, bottom 4 are selected and I cannot select top box which is FileZilla Client? I install to C:\Program Files\FileZilla FTP Client Seems to install. Get to Setup Complete page, and I Click finish, and "start FileZilla Now" Program opens, I go to my webhost and upload a file. Seems to work. CTRL-Q exits okay. Next day, start all over! |

I notice that one of the changelog notes for 3.1.4 reads " MSW: React to added or removed drive letters", I don't know whether this is connected to this problem possibly. Hi there, please bear with me as I am new to this type of forum. I have used filezilla for quite sometime now and up til recently have had no problems. However, now when I try to connect, my monitor goes to a black screen with a blinking cursor and a white rectangular small box in the upper left corner...almost like a DOS screen. . I can do control alt delete and my screen appears normal again, however when I try to download a file, the same thing happens.Also Task manager is open when I clear the black screen I have installed the latest vs of filezilla, also uninstalled and reinstalled it and same thing. I use XP and IE8. any help or insight will sure be appreciated. thanks! |

I have been uploading files which has more than 7,400+ files and 2,200+ directories for the past 2 days to our web hosting. I have tried the upload a dozen of times every time clearing the files again on the server to make sure that it will re-upload everything. The problem encountered is after checking the files, there are a lot of missing files on the server especially if its in the 2nd or 3rd level directory although files on lower directories are complete (well it looks like its complete). After a couple of re-tries (deleting and re-uploading the files), I checked the list of "Successful Transfer" and the missing files was not in the list. Note, there are no failed transfers. After this, I re-queued the files by dragging the files again to the Queue list. Making sure the files that I noticed are missing is in the queue list. This time, I didn't delete the files in the server but selected the "Skip" option for the existing files. It was able to upload some of the missing files, but after running the web application there are still lots of missing files. This is getting tiring. Its not possible to check every 7,400+ files to see if they are all uploaded. Just checking them will take days which will hamper our productivity. Actually it already hampered our development and productivity since I have been trying to upload our web app since yesterday. I know this was working prior to updating to the current version (3.2.2.1) OS is Windows XP with SP3 |

I have a USB drive with a volume name "K8IE" When I plug K8IE into my laptop, a phantom volume is created called K8IE x where "x" is a numbered instance of this phantom drive. So now underneath my local volumes I am showing K8IE, K8IE 1, K8IE 2, K8IE 3, K8IE 4, &c. The files on this USB drive only appear under the last of the instances, e.g., if K8IE 4 is the highest instance, I see my files under it but no files appear under the other instances. The volumes are persistent. If I remove the K8IE volume, all of the volumes remain showing in the Filezilla local drive window, even after a refresh. I cannot delete these bogus volumes, either. I have a screen shot. |

When transferring a large batch of files on 3.9.0 (hundreds of files averaging between 2KB and 300KB), 10 simultaneous transfers at once, the UI locks up (although the app is still downloading and the command echo window is still scrolling through commands). The downloading slows to approximately 5-10% of available network speed (and I can see the echo window slows commands to this rate as well). Once all files have been downloaded, the UI becomes accessible again. Note, I had no problems performing the same actions above on 3.8.1. On that older version, downloads were at full speed and the UI never locked up. I confirmed that this is a new issue introduced since v3.8.1. I recreated the issue on 3.9.0, then I downgraded from 3.9.0 back to 3.8.1 and the issue went away (speeds went back to normal and UI was accessible during this download process). So that rules out an issue with my computer, OS, network or server. I have not tested if this affects multiple simultaneous uploads as well. |

I downloaded the upgraded version of your software about 3 weeks ago. Two weeks ago my brand new website crashed but most of it re-uploaded without issue. A day or two later I started to have problems on my older website. Links in an uploaded document had changed so when you clicked the title the link went to the wrong document. Is there a reason that links can change like that? I check them after each upload so I know that they start out correctly. Also Filezilla does not seem to be uploading all of the code for the pages in my older website. Example: One page's file size is 94,718 on my hard drive but when uploaded it is only 93,751 - all 9 webpages have this issue. I tried re-uploading with no success. I also tried deleting the pages totally and re-uploading....initially the file sizes matched but when left for a few minutes it reduces again. A couple of times the page would start to display the correct file size during the upload but by the time the upload finished the size would drop again. I have also re-installed your software but that did not help. Though nothing appears to be missing there is a physical difference in the way the pages on my hard drive and the web copy displays when viewed through a browser. Also periodically when I open FileZilla I find random pages that are no longer being used have mysteriously just uploaded back on to the web. That was the case last week - I found 5 old pages (that are deeply nested in folders) uploaded with my regular web content. In trying to discover why these mysterious uploads might have happened I discovered the file size and display issues. It is critical that I get this fixed because the older website is a repository for legislative and regulatory information & heavily accessed. Thank you for any assistance you can give. |
