i just updated Filezilla 3.10.0 and now none of my 20 or so website will download any files, it keeps timing out.

I'f there is no quick fix can i some how roll back to the last version?

It won't be anything my end ass my websites are with many different servers and i am a long term user of Filezilla

Site Manager dropdown list of sits to connect to doesn't scroll nor does it expand sideways into multiple columns. it doesn't fit vertically on my 1440x900 screen. the menu has some sort of disabled control at the top. but I cannot view or select any of the bottom 7 or so items at the bottom of the list. they are not visible and cannot be reached.

This bug is same as Ticket #9542.

Operation steps:

When browse the FTP directories, if the directories' name is Chinese words, and double click someone directory in the file list window, then the "remote site" and the "directory-name" of remote-directory-tree are all show "Unrecognizable Code".

I have updated to the latest version of FileZilla 3.10.0.1 and i have found that new files i upload to my server all have no permissions what so ever.

I know it is not an issue with my server as i tested this with Transit and it worked as normal. I have used filezilla for as long as i can remember and this is the first time i have seen this issue. I wonder if anyone else is experiencing the same issues as i am.

Filezilla is opened and a connection is made to my remote server. I CMD-click multiple files and click EDIT (my editor is Text Wrangler on Mac). All appears fine except some of the files are not opened. I re-select one of the files that did not open and click EDIT again which produces "Opening failed. The file <filepath> could not be opened: The associated command failed." Repeated attempts produce the same error.

If I rename the file from Filezilla (and even rename back to the original filename) then Filezilla will properly open the file.

In versions 3.10.0.1 and 3.10.0.2 the programm doesn´t allow to list the directory content in ACTIVE mode. This is the log in 3.10.0.2 versión:

I have just installed the latest version of FileZilla. When I attempt 'Site manager - connect' I get error messages: Fails to retrieve directory listing & Not connected to any server.

I've updated to the latest version but now I can't get onto any of my sites because it just keeps timing out.

Is this a bug or is there something I need to change. If it's a bug can anyone suggest a free alternative until it gets fixed?

Autoupdate works fine except that it places the finished app in the Documents folder. From memory it indicates it will be in the Downloads folder, but really it would be preferable if it went directly into the Applications folder, but would then have to handle replacing the current version or keeping both

When editing a local file trough an external editor 'notepad++' first time it opens the file. Ok after closed the file trying to edit it again will show (filezilla error window) 'Associated command failed'. ​http://grab.by/DVtE It only can be opened again after restarting filezilla or renaming parent folder. (Note: must be connected to an ftp on secondary window.) It worked before 2 updates. Now is version filezilla 3.10.0.2

Since the last upgrade I can no longer get a directory listing on my websites. I also got a Server Certificate message. My ISP has said other FileZilla users have reported this and that it is related to the Active or Passive setting on FTP Transfer mode :

Looking in FileZilla there seem to be 2 places to set 'Active' or 'Passive', in the Overall Application settings and in the Connection-specific settings.

I have tried Both 'Active' and 'Passive' and am still unable to get a directory listing. Can you please review and advise ?

Since upgrade to version 3.10.0.2 connection to server times out. Failed to retrieve directory listing. All settings are correct as I'm using them with Smart FTP at this time.

When I try to connect to my hosting, tries connect and then disconnect me and does not show the file list.

I'm running the server of WinSSHD 5.02 on Windows 7 Pro. After the connection is established, the files/folders retrieved from the server have permission 000 (hence not able to write anything to the server). It was working all fine before upgrading to the latest version of FZ client.

Failed to retrieve directory listing when connecting to my Synology. Version:3.9.0.6 is the last working fine version.

I have been unable to connect to my usual servers after I updated FileZilla yesterday. It was working fine before the update.

Error message: Connection timed out ... Could not connect to server.

I ran tracer command to see if I could reach the server — and I could. So it's not a machine or external connectivity issue.

Furthermore, I could reach the server and do normal upload functions via FireFTP, which is not my first choice. I definitely prefer FileZilla.

If I download the FileZilla version from the filezilla-project.org website (through Source Forge), that works fine on my computer. That is version is 3.9.0.6. However, when I install it I get a message saying that there's a new version (3.10.0.2). If I upgrade to 3.10.0.2, suddenly FileZilla times out after the MLSD command.

I did some searching around online and found lots of people saying that MLSD timeouts might be because there was a problem with my router. I tried logging on in several different locations with different routers, and I still have the same problem. Not to mention, it works fine using version 3.9.0.6.

I'm at a bit of a loss now and the only solution I've found is to stick with version 3.9.0.6. I'm nervous that there will be another upgrade (beyond 3.10.0.2) that will cause me the same problems, but I will no longer be able to download 3.9.0.6 from the website.

I recently downgraded to the newest version 3.10.0.2 and now I can no longer connect to my website.

Hello, please bear with me, I am very much a newbie. I barely know how to upload files, but have been doing that through you for a while and all was going fine until recently when I updated my version of FileZilla. I keep getting error messages, such as "Failed to retrieve directory listing", and can't connect to my website(s)on my main computer. I called GoDaddy for help, and they thought it might be my browser or firewall, but nothing changed and I don't think that's it. Then I tried to upload via my laptop, which had an older version of FileZilla, and it worked fine. I asked my friend who told me about FileZilla a few years ago, and he suggested I report the issue, because maybe no one else has noticed it. I can't imagine that I'd be the only one, but don't know what else to do. Here is the message I've been getting: " Status: Connecting to 160.153.59.0:21... In latest version 3.10, I do not see any directory when connected. I also get a not connected error. I checked the connection from Site Manager and got a notice of an existing connection and whether I wanted to restart etc. The top of the screen show the connection to the proper IP, but the right panel says not Connection.

I updated to the latest version and now I can not load my website. I get a invalid directory listing

I have a customer who owns a website that I take care of. When I updated to 3.10 today I got this popup that said the certification ticket was expired. I have never seen that in the 8 years I have been using FileZilla. I am attaching both the log and a png file of the popup itself.

That's really it. At first, I just thought maybe something was wrong on the website. So to see, I just uninstalled the latest version (FileZilla_3.10.0.2_win32-setup.exe or whatever was the latest as of a day or two ago), and then reinstalled a previous version (which does not have the problem), which is:

This error appear for EVERY server... But when i try to connect with Filezilla 3.9.0.6 nothing error appear and i can work in FTP.... WHY?!

Ever since that last 2 updates I've been unable to connect to any remove hosts. I keep getting similar failures. For some reason it times out retrieve the directories. I've tried 2 other FTP clients and they resolve with no issue.

I connect to my hosting service just fine this morning. After updating to the latest version, I can not login to anywhere. I used another computer with an older version of FileZilla and logged in just fine.

After updating this morning, the new version failed to login on my Server. Restoring the system - and everything worked perfectly - with the old version 3.9.0.2

I made no changes to the log-in information, but now it won't get the directory listing.

Upgraded and now get the error "Failed to retrieve directory listing" from MediaTemple servers. Most others I get the same error but I have one that will work.

Something has changed with the update I did today. Another machine that I did NOT upgrade FZ on is working fine.

After this update in cannot connect to my sever. it gives me some unknown certificate error and cannot connect to server. I downgraded to the previous version and its working fine.

System: Mac OS 10.9.5 FileZilla Client 3.10.1.1 I am running a laptop connected to a larger monitor. Monitor and laptop windows align at top. Dock is on larger monitor but applications open on laptop.

Steps to reproduce: Open FileZilla client from dock or direct from applications folder. FileZilla opens on laptop screen. Toolbar is not visible, though it is checked on view menu. Top of main window is not visible, so initial file listing is only partly visible. There is no way to drag the window down.

Currently you can only hide the local tree view. I don't use the local section. I only use the remote section and drag & drop.

Is there a way to hide the entire local section? It's extra space that I could use.

Sadly it only collapses so far and that's it.

Hi i looked through the tracker and it seams this was reported more than once but still not properly working.

The directory listing works with Internet Explorer but filezilla doesn't show all files.

I have FileZilla installed at /Applications/Utilities and every time there is an update, it installes the app to ~/Documents folder. I believe that update should update the app and not to put the application to somewhere on the computer.

========================= Trying to open a new connection, app says it already has a connection. But directory list does not succeed. Old version 3.6 works fine.

When attempting to upload using FileZilla the server access does not list the directories. Unable to list directories is the error. At first I thought it was my problem then discovered after the update from my older version (3.9.0.5) is when the problem began. I rolled back to the 3.9.0.5 version and the app began to work correctly. I now ignore the prompt to update each time it loads. I have other clients that use FileZilla and I recommend to them not to update until further notice about this problem being solved.

On my Mac OS X (10.9.5) MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012), when I unplug my external monitor the FileZilla window adapts to the new smaller built-in display by moving the entire window upward, leaving the title bar and upper panel offscreen. It remembers this new window position to that the title bar and upper panel remain offscreen even when I plug the large monitor back in, and worse, even when I quit and restart FileZilla. I cannot reach the window Zoom button, since the title bar is offscreen, and there is no Window menu from which to choose a Zoom command. On the built-in monitor, I haven't found any way out; the only solution I have found is to reattach the large monitor, go to Mission Control, and drag the FileZilla window to the smaller built-in monitor. After leaving Mission Control, FileZilla still spreads over the top edge of the built-in monitor, but the title bar is now visible on the large monitor and I can once again drag the app window and use the Zoom button. (My monitor arrangement is the 2560x1600 monitor above, with the menu bar, and the 1200x800 built-in display below left-aligned.) I can provide screen shots if needed.

As connection proceeds, it comes up with a "certificate expired" for the server. Whether or not this is 'OK'd' it then moves on, makes a complaint about non ascii characters and finally holds and times out at 'failed to read directory listing: Initializing TLS... Have installed v 3.9.0.5 on another PC and it works fine. Seems to be a problen with 3.10.2

Alwasy when I am uploading something to my server it does not show in the right side box (remote site:). It only appears when I click "REFRESH" seems it is not automatic have to do it manually.

If I upgrade, I can't connect to my sites. It times out trying to give a directory listing.

We are currently experiencing an issue with the latest version of the client (3.11.0(x64)) where it is unable to open the data connection after entering passive mode and entering MLSD.

This is however is only the case (as far as we have seen) on Windows 7 x64 Professional as the connection works as expected on Windows 8.1 x64.

We have a number of logs, one from the Windows 7 x64 machine, one from the Windows 8.1 x64 machine and one from ftptest.net.

As can be seen it connects fine on Win 8.1 and 'ftptest.net' however is having issues on the Windows 7 x64 machine. These issues are not present however in earlier versions of FileZilla (versions 3.2.7 and 3.9.0.6 to be precise).

We updated our filezilla clients to 3.11.0 but then could not establish a conection to FTP server. Several users were connected earlier in the day. All failed after update to 3.11.0. No change to server or firewall. Other FTP clients will work. Error message below:

Error: The data connection could not be established: ENETUNREACH - Network unreachable.

I just upgraded to the new 3.12.0.1 release and discovered that it does not recognize folders in the server file listing as folders. It only shows them as files and tries to download them when double clicked on. The only way to access the folders is if you have the Synchronized browsing on and have the same folders in the local computer.

The dialog is very tall. In Debian GNOME, with top bar and window list there is not enough room to show the whole dialog, so i can't see the close button at the bottom.

When adding new FTP servers to the Site Manager currently it's a nightmare using keyboard shortcuts because I keep on using again and again the Standard Cmd+C to copy and Cmd+A to select all text in a textfield, and they don't work like that in the Site Manager window so they drive me crazy!

Instead, pressing Cmd+A closes the window! It doesn't make sense. And pressing Cmd+C creates a new folder! Why?! Cmd+C should just copy text inside a textfield!! Al least Cmd+V works as it should (it actually pastes text).

Please, stick with the standard key combinations. When I have to add a large amount of FTP servers to FileZilla it's really annoying not being able to use standard system-wide key combinations such as Copy (Cmd+C) and Select All (Cmd+A). I keep accidentally closing the window all the time because I'm trying to select all the text in a textfield with Cmd+A.

The icons for upload/download in the right-click menu are broken sometimes, see screenshot. Using FZ on mac/el capitan in dutch language.

Version 3.5.3 was fine. Upgrade to 3.14.1 throws Error: The data connection could not be established: ENETUNREACH - Network unreachable.

When I load a file from the FTP server to view and edit, it is opened with Notepad ++. The file looks quite normal, but when loading the entire code will be doubled in the file and makes the file unusable.

Sometimes when using the latest version of Filezilla it ends up like this:

It´s sometimes when I´m opening the Site Manager or do something else with the window.

Message recommends I move to trash and that its broken? I see previous ticket reports the same thing but I'm not using Apple app store for this. I'm downloading from source forge? Any ideas?

I have broken main menu icons on my mac book air. And it breaks every time I click on some buttons in main panel and stays broken next time. And after application restart too. I've attached a screenshot.

When editing or creating a new site in the site manager, pasting the IP address in the Host field creates a new favorite.

I don't know if this is a bug or a feature, but I have to use right click > paste to do it. It's really annoying. Been this way for at least 1 year.

There is currently a discrepancy in behaviour between using FTP and SFTP with servers using a Round Robin DNS configuration where a single domain lists multiple IP addresses in its type A or AAAA records.

With FTP, the Filezilla client will attempt to connect each listed IP address until finding a working one for the host, whereas with SFTP, Filezilla will only randomly try a single one and then fail immediately if that one fails.

The vanilla BSD sftp client on the command line will correctly try each IP address until finding a working one. This would be a desireable behaviour for the Filezilla client as well.

See screenshots below displaying different behaviours for FTP and SFTP on a host with round robin DNS configured. FTP tries all 3 hosts, while SFTP only tries to connect to one.

I updated to 3.18.0 this morning, because of the auto-update feature. The first thing I did was upload 4 files to my company FTP. 1- I highlighted the new files 2- right-click on them, I think the last one. 3- select Copy URL(s) to clipboard 4- I then went to my email and right-click to paste the URLs. 5- Only 1 of the 4 URLs pasted into my email.

Repeating the process with Ctrl-V instead of right click in email with the same result. Pasting into other applications like Notepad++ had the same result.

I have done this hundreds, if not thousands of times in the past.

Hi there, I hope it's not an already treated topic but here's my issue :

I got 2 files on my sftp server I can't download : indexeng.html & indexesp.html.

there's a red message saying : Erreur :/indexen.html: open for read: no such file or directory Erreur :Échec du transfert du fichier

Both files can be upped but not downloaded back.

Is an "e" as 6th type just after "index" chain could be a problem ? Note that I got other files named indexit.html, indexheb.html etc... showing no problem.

Is there a solution someone may give me ?
