#11671 "-a" | "--local" command line options don't work in 3.35.1 high fixed 6 years 6 years
Description

Running the following command: "C:\Program Files\FileZilla FTP Client\filezilla.exe" sftp://[creds]@[site] --local="X:\local path"

In 3.34.0 this opens the remote site and the local directory just fine.

In 3.35.1 this opens the remote site, but defaults the local directory to last used local directory (if I was in "C:\Users\[username]\Desktop\ for example, it would use that) and not the local directory specified on the command line.

#11721 "Alt key" used for non-adjacent file group selection no longer works after version update normal invalid 6 years 6 years
Description

Before version update I was able to use "Alt key" to select non-adjacent files for group uploads. After update this no longer functions.

#5693 "Always trust certificate in future sessions" doesn't work. normal fixed 13 years 13 years
Description

The certificate is valid, in that it started one month ago and expires in 20 years time. It's a general certificate for my ISP which allows me to upload files to my domain, so the certificate's common name doesn't match my domain name, and it's a self sigend certificate by my ISP, so it's good that I'm warned about it, but I should be able to trust certificate in future sessions, but ticking the "Always trust certificate in future sessions" box and clicking "OK" has no effect. i.e. The dialog keeps appearing for every file and for every time I log in to the server.

#1172 "Always trust this certificate" not working 2.2.28, 2.2.24 normal 18 years 18 years
Description

Checking the "always trust this certificate" is not working -- I am prompted every time whether or not to accept the certificate.

Client is FileZilla 2.2.28 (and I reproduced with 2.2.24 also).

Server is FileZilla Server 0.9.19beta

The popup prompt says self-signed certificate (which is true, as I used the FileZilla Server to generate the cert, several versions ago), error at depth 1 in the chain.

#10099 "An invalid index was passed to wxDisplay" assertion failed when overwriting file normal fixed 9 years 9 years
Description

When I try to overwrite a file (either because I'm uploading a file that already exists on the server, or the other way around), I get the following notification:

An assertion failed! ./src/common/dpycmn.cpp(119): assert "n < GetCount()" failed in wxDisplay(): An invalid index was passed to wxDisplay

(backtrace attached)

After clicking continue (twice), the up/download seems to further work as expected.

I think this was introduced when switching to wxWidgets 3, which was done with FileZilla 3.9.

I am using FileZilla 3.10.0.2 on Arch Linux x86_64, and there is at least one Arch user that has the same problem (report). There is also a report from a Debian user with the same problem, also with FileZilla 3.9.

#11223 "Assert failure" failed while downloading files via sftp normal fixed 7 years 7 years
Description

I was using moving files from our web server using sftp, what I got hit with an "Assert failure" failed error. I hit continue, but it popped up a couple times until the program crashed.

I'm using the latest version of FileZilla on Manjaro Linux 17.0 x64. Error logs included.

#8441 "Cancel" button is disabled during transfer, "Toggles processing of the transfer queue" button actually cancels the transfer normal rejected 11 years 11 years
Description

I start a file transfer from remote FTP site to local machine, and during the transfer "Toggles processing of the transfer queue" is enabled and "pushed down", and "Cancels the current operation" button is disabled (see attached screenshot). And when I press "Toggles processing..." button, the transfer is actually cancelled.

What I actually expect is "Cancels..." button is enabled and cancels the current/last active transfer.

#10610 "Check for Updates" dialog reappears after update normal worksforme 9 years 9 years
Description

On starting the program, the "Check for Updates" dialog box appears asking to update to "3.12.0.2" I click "Install new version" and click yes on the Windows User Account Control dialog to allow the program to install.

The updates install, the program restarts and the "Check for Updates" dialog box does not appear. The version listed is 3.12.0.2 in the About section. The check for updates menu item gives me the dialog box "You are using the latest version of FileZilla."

I select File->Exit to exit. I restart the program and the "Check for Updates" dialog box appears asking to update to "3.12.0.2". I close the dialog and check the about section.

The version is now listed as "3.11.0" and choosing to install the new version restarts the process.

Other information: I have tried manually uninstalling, restarting the computer, downloading a new copy and reinstalling the software with the same result. When opening the program the version listed does not advance past "3.11.0"

I have noticed that the updates will accumulate in the dialog box until I click "Install new version" but after the updates install and I close the program, reopening it will show only the most recent update as still available in the "Check for Updates" dialog.

I did install FileZilla Server 0_9_51 at one point on the same computer but it has since been uninstalled.

#10652 "Check for updates" dialog is very tall normal duplicate 9 years 9 years
Description

Help > Check for updates...

The dialog is very tall. In Debian GNOME, with top bar and window list there is not enough room to show the whole dialog, so i can't see the close button at the bottom.

Screen is 1366x768.

With window list disabled i can see part of the close button, but still not the whole dialog.

#9640 "Create directory and enter it" continues after disconnect normal fixed 10 years 9 years

FileZilla should complete the failed MKDIR command before attempting the CWD.

#11786 "Create new file" context menu item produces files with same timestamp low fixed 6 years 5 years
Description

the first file you create after opening FileZilla has the correct timestamp -- any additional files you may create will have the same timestamp as the first file you created. this issue does not apply when directories are created. i first noticed this issue today when a new file i created showed as being several hours old -- at first i thought maybe the server time zone was wrong, or that the FileZilla time zone offset was wrong, but i eventually determined the timestamp was based upon the first created file.

presumably this is due to FileZilla creating a single file and then reusing it, but it seems like a simple way to improve this would be just to "touch" the file to update it's timestamp before uploading it.

#3587 "Dropping" a file on an area next to a folder normal 16 years 16 years
Description

Version 3.0.11.1, Win XP

When uploading a file, I drag it from the local folder into the upload folder. If I drop it in a space in the same row as a subfolder in the remote site window, the file goes into that subfolder.

I believe it should go in the current folder as putting it in the subfolder has undesirable consequences - uploading to a folder with lots of subfolders and maybe one file becomes tricky, and its easy to upload files to random subfolders without realising.

I update to the most recent version but am still receiving the message.

Could you please look into what is hapenning.

#5310 "Empty directory" when not connected low fixed 14 years 14 years
Description

I am running FileZilla 3.3.2.1. I have the default pane layout with "Remote site" on the right hand side. When not connected to a remote site, either after startup or after disconnecting, the status bar (is that the correct word?) under Remote site displays "Empty directory." This text implies that a certain directory is targeted but that it does not contain any file to display. In my view that is incorrect, because there is no directory that this refers to. It would be better if the text read "Nothing to display" or "No files to display".

#4169 "Failed Transfer" bug normal rejected 15 years 15 years
Description

If maximum number of session (set on the server) is exceeded and the client get error "530 Not logged in, too many connection" , the "Queue Items" was wrongly moved to "Failed Transfer Tab" (bug) => The client should maintain the queue until got the connection or get other error message.

There is a 'closed' bug about the same item but the solution is not really fixing the bug: Ticket #3394: "Too many connections" wrongly marked "Failed Transfer" http://trac.filezilla-project.org/ticket/3394

That bug is closed with remark "Increase the number of retries and the reconnect delay in the settings dialog to avoid this problem."

The solution is not really solution because say I increase 3 retries with delay 30s each (total 90s) to 10 retries with 60s delay (total 600s), then after 600s the same thing will happen (not fixing the problem, just delaying the problem)

I use client version 3.2.0 and still see this daily.

Here is how I recreate the problem easily:

  1. Say the server maximum session from the same ip address is 8.
  2. Place on the server a folder with hundreds of file (big and small: 1kb size to 500MB size), say 200 or more files (make sure the transfer will last long enough to observed). I call it "folder A"
  3. Make a second folder "folder B" on server: just copy of 'folder a"
  4. Download "folder A" with OTHER FTP CLIENT. (I use cuteftp 8.3.2) just make sure I use some of the session handler)
  5. Now connect FILEZILA (set delay and retry to minimum) to server and download "folder B"
  6. The "queued files" tab is filled with the file list, but soon enough they are wrongly moved to "Failed Transfer" tab.

This 'bug' is quite annoying because I transfer a big size quite frequently that usually takes 2-3 hours download and unattended. With this bug, after 3 hours I come back to the console only find that some of the files are on "Failed Transfer" tab and have to wait another 1 or 2 hours to complete that transfer. (My current solution of this problem is to use cuteftppro that is not giving me the problem, but as open source fanatic I reckon FileZilla should be able to overcome this small problem - hope this can be solved before the trial period over.. ;-) )

NOTE: the problem is still occurring even only 1 client connect to the server (the above just to exaggerate) - the key is have to be a lot number of file with various mix of size

Thank you for the great product and great job for all the team !

#3625 "File Previously Open has changed" msg erroneously appearing normal 16 years 10 years
Description

This bug just started in the latest version, 3.1.0, as it was not happening in any previous version.

When right clicking on a remote file and choosing the "VIEW/EDIT" file option, the file is FTP'ed correctly to my Windows XP Pro (with all latest service packs) PC and opened in my default editor of choice, UltraEdit 14.x.

Immediately and without doing anything in the editor, FileZilla starts popping up the message, "A File Previously opened has changed. {filename}. Upload this file back to the Server?"

Clicking the NO button results in the message reappearing immediately.

If I click YES, the file is uploaded back to the server, but the same message reappears moments later.

The only way to permanently clear it is to click the FINISH EDITING AND DELETE checkbox, which is undesirable most times.

Nothing with this file changed in that period of time. I have used this feature heavily with all previous versions going back one year and this never happened previously.

I have to revert back to the previous version in order to use the software. If there is any other information you need, please do not hesitate to ask.

Here is the verbose log:

#11248 "File exists" preferences (resume, overwrite, etc.) are lost on Filezilla update normal rejected 7 years 7 years
Description

Hi,

when I download a file from a server and the file already exists on the client the "file exists" dialog pops up. I check "resume" and I also check "do this everytime / for all queues" (I use the german version so the naming might be a bit different in english).

This works fine for all future file transfers until I update the Filezilla client. After the update my choice of "global resuming" is lost.

Is it working as designed or is it a bug?

#4950 "File has changed" dialogue steals focus high rejected 15 years 15 years
Description

When editing a file, once FileZilla has noticed the file has changed, it pops up it's "file has changed" dialogue which steals focus from my text editor. Needless to say this is extremely annoying. I am running Filezilla 3.2.72 on Ubuntu 9.10, 64-bit.

#1424 "File has changed" does not work normal 16 years 16 years
Description

Version 3.1.0

There's something wrong with "file changed" detection. When you right click a file (local or remote side), edit and close, it lost the modification or keep showing the "upload this file back to the server" in loop, everytime the window get focus. Sometime it ignores the changes, and sometimes saves the local file wrong or "reload" the lastest version of the file, what is a very dangerous risk.

REQUEST: please consider an option to disable this feature completly (local/remote sync). I really don't like it, it's annoying. Disabled, let the user control if he wants or not sync with the server. Sometimes the user only wants the local file, or remote file, for some reason, without resync.

#10668 "GET" starts even when transfer will fail for sure normal fixed 9 years 9 years
Description

When destination drive is invalid (missing network drive, maybe also when disk is full), a GET operation still start, and even hammer the FTP server (3 failed attempts in a row).

With a full transfer queue, it provokes a high number of failed transfers (0 bytes), and some servers then report an abnormal number of logs per second.

Obviously, FileZilla do NOT check destination's suitability before starting the transfer. It should check if there is enough space on disk and drive's availability.

HOW TO REPRODUCE:

  • Connect to a FTP server with a lot of files.
  • Connect a network drive.
  • Go to this drive in FileZilla.
  • Enqueue a lot of files.
  • Disconnect network drive: FILEZILLA DO NOT SEE THIS OPERATION.
  • Launch queue: everything fail, server is hammered.
  • Same thing may apply with a full disk (don't have stuff to test it however).

Attached files: In attached log, I've disconnected my "T:\" network drive, which is therefore missing in navigation panel BUT still shown in "Local site" bar. See attached picture.

This occured in version 3.23.0.2 but when I wrote that in the "Component version", the bug report was being rejected because it is not the latest version. Duh, I can only report this type of bug in an older version. If I would download the latest version now, and wait for this problem to happen again, then it would be rejected again, that loops forever. So I lied when filling in the "Component version", sorry.

#992 "Overwrite if newer" prevents ul retry after transfer error Alexander Schuch normal 18 years 16 years
Description

Hi,

I'd like to report a bug in Filezilla 2.2.17. The following is happening:

When you upload a number of files to an FTP server that already exist on the server and select "overwrite if newer" and "use this choice for all files" when prompted, any file that does not get uploaded completely (due to a transfer error) will not be uploaded again.

I assume that this is due to the choice of "overwrite if newer" - my suspicion is that when Filezilla tries to upload the file a second time, it checks the timestamp of the (partial) file on the server, discovers that it's more recent than the local timestamp, and then does not upload the file again. This is incorrect behaviour, of course: if a file is uploaded a second time after a transfer error, the timestamp should not be checked again.

It doesn't seem to be the case anymore since version 3.44. Is it a bug or a feature (that would be too bad)?

Best regards, Underground78

#5156 "Selected files/folders" counts wrong when using Ctrl+Shift low fixed 14 years 14 years
Description

When selecting multiple files or folders using Ctrl+Shift in the local or server file browser, the number of Selected files/folders is shown wrong. It seems that the real number of selected files is just added to the previously displayed number of selected files.

Example: Selected 3 files e.g. using Shift (FZ displays "Selected 3 files."). If you go on selecting 2 more files with Ctrl+Shift there are 5 files selected but FZ shows "Selected 8 files." (5 real + 3 form before). Go on selecting 2 more files, FZ shows "Selected 15 files." (7 real + 8 thought from before). And so on..

#3394 "Too many connections" wrongly marked "Failed Transfer" normal 16 years 10 years
Description

I set my "Maximum simultaneous transfers" to 8, the max my server can handle. However, for some reason a connection or two has been opened and not closed by Filezilla (probably another bug).

At this point there are 6 existing hung connections, leaving me with 2 that should transfer. However, when I try to transfer a queue of files, two slots are used correctly, and any other files that try to use the other 6 connections get "421 Too many connections (8) from this IP", and are marked as "Failed Transfers". However, this is incorrect; they are not failed, there are simply not enough connections to transfer the files concurrently.

This is the same situation if I then transfer files to another server that only handles 4 simultaneous connections. That means that any files using the 4 connections will succeed, but any that are *attempted* using the other 4 connections will be marked as "Failed Transfer", instead of simply waiting in the queue longer. This means I have to set the "Maximum simultaneous transfers" manually for *every* server I use, and then I have to keep an eye on the Failed Transfers log for any wrongly marked failures.

Ideally, when filezilla gets the "421: too many connections" error while transferring more than one file at a time, it would simply keep that file on the queue and wait for the next available connection. This way a given max connections can be specified (say, 6) and if a server doesn't support that many the situation will be handled gracefully (all files will transfer, the max supported connections will be used) instead of how it is now (some files transfer, some don't).

I have a verbose debug log available, if needed. Thanks!

#3894 "Upload and unedit" does not remove edited file from dialog immediately low duplicate 16 years 16 years
Description

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Right-click a file, and click "View / Edit".
  2. Open the menu File -> Show files currently being edited...
  3. Click on the file we had selected for editing before, and click "Upload and unedit".

Note that the file remains in the status "Uploading..." and is never removed from the list. If I close the dialog and attempt to re-open it, FileZilla tells me there are no files to edit.

It should instead remove the file from the list, and, if I shouldn't have the dialog open when there are no more files to edit, it should pop the same alert as when I tried to open the dialog when no files were being edited.

I set this to low priority because FileZilla does not crash, and it's hard, if not impossible, to actually crash it through this bug. I also set it to Windows, but it may apply to other operating systems as well.

#3781 "View/Edit" feature does not work when remote filename is longer than set number of characters normal fixed 16 years 16 years
Description

Sample remote filename (masked): XX_X_XXXXX_X_XXXXX_XXXXXX_XXX_XXXX.XXXXXX_xxxxxx.xxxxx_xxxxxx_xxx_xxx.20080917_113015.txt

These are log files generated by scripts that run on a remote server

At first I thought it had to do with the 255 character filename limit that one sometimes runs into but, when I tried to open the file from the temp directory using the exact same editor, it worked.

#11769 "Watch locally edited files" feature does not update its link when the remote server is changed normal rejected 6 years 6 years
Description

When the Watch locally edited files and prompt to upload modifications feature is turned on, it does not update its links when the remote server is changed. This may lead to overwriting a wrong remote file.

Consider the following scenario:

  1. Connect to server A.
  2. Download file X from server A to a local folder.
  3. Edit the file X (right-click it in the local folder and select Edit).
  4. Do some edits, save the file, close the editor and return to FileZilla.
  5. You are prompted to upload modified file back to remote server A (so far so good).
  6. Select ‘No’ to close the prompt.
  7. Connect to server B.
  8. Download file X from the server B to the same local folder as in step 2.
  9. Open the new file X in your editor.
  10. Do some edits, save the file, close the editor and return to FileZilla.
  11. Now, you are prompted to upload modified file X back to remote server A!

That is wrong because the file was downloaded from server B and should be uploaded there. If you do not read the prompt carefully, you can easily overwrite the file at the wrong remote server. FileZilla should update its internal link when the monitored file is downloaded from a different location.

It seems that retries should also apply to "critical errors" (the file was transferring although with timeouts, than it received the critical error), or maybe a separate" retries for critical errors flag could be introduced?

Thanks

#9318 'Overwrite if newer' overwrites file even if they have the same timestamp while uploading. normal fixed 10 years 10 years
Description

Using version 3.7.3 the options 'Overwrite if newer' works correctly. However, after upgrading to version 3.7.4.1 all files are overwritten even if the files have the same timestamps.

I tested it with identical directories and files. First I uploaded files with version 3.7.3. Everything works as expected. Only files that actually were newer got transferred. Then I set-up exactly the same files and directories and use version 3.7.4.1. All files were transferred, even the files having identical timestamps.

I also noticed that the files have correct identical timestamps in the treeview (see attachment for just one file).

Settings the server timezone offset +1 solves the wrong file-overwrite behavior. However then the times in the treeview are not displayed correctly.

The logging for transferring 1 file that has identical timestamps at both the server and the client (test.txt) looks as follows:

#10914 'Show detailed log' makes FileZilla unresponsive, no recovery normal fixed 8 years 8 years
Description

Observed on my machine, reproducable 100% of the time:

Reproduction:

  • Open FileZilla on OSX
  • Connect to a host
  • Open de Message log tab
  • Right-click on the log, and click 'Show detailed log'.

Observed:

  • No detailed log appears.
  • After maybe one or two seconds, FileZilla becomes unresponsive (beach ball appears) and it doesn't seem to ever recover from that, no matter how long I wait.
  • Only killing the application makes it go away.

After killing FileZilla, OSX gives me a crash report which I'll attach.

#7284 'failed to write xml file' normal duplicate 13 years 10 years
Description

Hi there, I have an ASUS Eee PC, Netbook (1G RAM). I only recently installed filezilla and did so under the instruction of my web hosts -- who say they are quite familiar with the program. I have successfully made several connections to their server and uploaded files onto it. This is the primary reason I installed the program. The last three times I have started filezilla, a series of error messages have been popping up (see attached images). I have to click 'OK' on the boxes, of which there might be anything up to seven or eight. Two or three appear as the program opens and three always appear at the end of the session. This doesn't seem to be affecting my ability to connect to the remote server; I have performed a test connection and uploaded a file to check. I'm just wondering is this an omen of worse problems to come. Thanks, Kath T Today I also downloaded the newest version of filezilla, hoping the problem would stop, but it didn't. I just started up and shut down filezilla and have taken screenshots of every error alert I have to click through; errors 01.gif and 02.gif appeared at the beginning and the rest at the end. I have checked to see the destination folders in the error messages and the files mentioned are there, but I don't know much about what the messages mean.

#7918 (Client) All transfers fail (Mac and PC) following upgrade today critical outdated 12 years 12 years
Description

An employee on Mac and I (PC) both upgraded this morning. Now all transfers fail. When trying to send a new file, it creates the instance of the file with a zero kb size on our remote server, then repeatedly tells you it already exists (apparently the zero kb version) and asks if you want to overwrite, repeatedly, without ever overwriting or allowing the transfer.

#4260 * at end of name after rename normal rejected 15 years 15 years
Description

After uploading a file and renaming it so that the file name ends with an asterisk (*), the file has become unaccessible

E.g. I upload a file "test.zip" Then I rename it to "test.zip *old version*"

FileZilla shows "test.zip *old version" (the last * is missing) I'm unable to do anything with that file anymore. Not even a delete.

#11689 --site does not work on latest version normal duplicate 6 years 6 years
Description

When starting the client via command line, FZ starts up but does not invoke any site settings. E.g. "C:\Program Files (x86)\FileZilla FTP Client\filezilla.exe" --site=mySite starts the client but does not initiate a session using the mySite settings. It behaves the same as if --site were not specified.

#11705 --site-manager command line parameter switch doesn't seem to do anything normal fixed 6 years 6 years
Description

As of fileZilla version 3.35.2 the -s and --site-manager command line parameter switches do nothing when specified after the program path and name (out side of the ending double quote) in the properties box of a windows 10 desktop icon. I tried using -site-manager as well, but that gave me an unknown command message, but with either -s or --site-manager, no error message is displayed.

I expect that the -s and --site-manager switches should display the site manager dialog after fileZilla starts.

#10317 .DBF file arrives damaged with 3.10.2 blocker fixed 9 years 9 years
Description

Since we upgraded to 3.10.2 DBF files arrive damaged. After a few records the content and fields seems shifted somehow. Additional problem is that we can't go back to an earlier version of Filezilla easily as the passwords are now crypted (good thing...) but in the previous version they weren't. See the damage in the picture, from record 81. The original DBF is attached too; you should be able to read it in Excel for example.

Newest (win32 3.5.3) filezilla refuses to show hidden files on a proftpd server. Description

Hello,

I have read the previous posts regarding the .htaccess issue. I have enabled the raw logs and my .htaccess file is showing up. I am using FileZilla 3.0.4

Listing: type=file;size=17;modify=20110428014334;UNIX.mode=0604;UNIX.uid=7645816;UNIX.gid=100450;unique=1ag2d27955; .htacess

I also have enabled my server to "Force showing hidden files". I have this working on other machines but I have not been able to get it working since I reinstalled Win XP Pro. This isn't the end of the world because you can manually transfer a file but its kind of annoying when it used to work.

Thanks

#1320 .html file becomes unformatted normal 17 years 16 years
Description

I use filezilla for all my purposes on 4 different websites.

However, for a particular type of webpage (our result files which are html), whenever I use filezilla, the whole page becomes unformatted/corrupted once uploaded, and shows all chinese fonts.

Because of this I have had to use another ftp software for the past one year, just to upload our result files, where that software works fine. For the rest of the html, asp, php etc. pages on the website filezilla works fine and I have had no issues with it for the past two years.

I am attaching an html file for your verification. Ours is a linux server. The websites where I have tried this out have been both on windows and linux servers but this problem persisted over the years.

#4839 .pureftpd files everywhere. prohibited filename. normal rejected 15 years 15 years
Description

I can't upload anymore. something new about the server is not allowing me to delete .pureftpd filenames, even though they are being created.

it is consuming all my web space, and I have some ISOs to upload. my uploads take days to complete at 384kbps. so this may be causing filezilla to leave large garbage behind.

please change filezilla to remove the . in front. that should do it. Also, please fix the bug that leaves the trail of garbage on uploads that last several days. thanks. thanks

by the way, it doesn't matter what ftp client I use, I can't delete them. I suppose that's a server issue.

#5049 .txt file not recognized as ASCII for transfer normal invalid 14 years 14 years
Description

I recently noticed that a .txt file from a Unix machine was download as binary to a windows machine, even though "txt" is in the ASCII file list. The file is named like filename.20091204.165157742.txt. I am guessing that the reason for this is because it sees the text after the first "." as the extension and not the text after the last "." as the extension. I would contend that only the text after the last "." should be looked at for the extension. This is consistent with how windows works (don't know about other OSes).

#3524 .xml file problem Alexander Schuch normal 16 years 16 years
Description

I use a media player that uses an .xml file for the playlist. I tried uploading three instances of the player to some webspace last evening. None of the three would work. I have another instance of the player on the space that I had uploaded probably with a 2.xx version of FileZilla. I finally traced the problem down to the playlist which is an .xml file. When I was reasonably certain that the problem was with the .xml file I got FireFTP and uploaded my playlists with that program. The players all work with playlists uploaded with FireFTP. I have two computers and I tried with both computers. To check I uploaded the files using FileZilla 3.0.10. All the players broke again. Reuploading the files with FireFTP fixed the players again.

My Computers both run Windows XP Home OS. They are Core 2 Duo computers with 2GB of ram. I had version 3.0.5 running when I first encountered the problem. I checked for updates and updated to 3.0.10. I have attached one of the .xml files. I did not download one of the broken ones to compare.

#1087 0 Mb Size Calculation Alexander Schuch normal 18 years 17 years
Description

I know it's petty, but it's hard to guage if my transfer went through correctly if it says that the file size is 0 Mb. Even as little as 10.24 Kb is still .01 Mb

I'd like to see Mb display in fractions thereof, rather than whole numbers and zeros. I'm submitting my petty request as a bug because the majority of my ASCii files show as 0 Mb. I've attached a screenshot to express the frustration.

#10352 1st char is cut off on file download (random). normal worksforme 9 years 9 years
Description

When downloading a file from filezilla client, the first char is cut off. This is a random event. Doesn't always happen.

Has work around: -Try to download continuously until file is complete.

Personal case: -Downloading XML files, where the first sequence of chars are <?xml and < gets cut off making the xml invalid. -Files are not larger than 2kb. -Win 8.1 Pro, Intel i3 4005U

#7993 2 thread timing issue on transfer to empty directory causes overwrite dialog normal outdated 12 years 12 years
Description

When transferring a whole directory to an empty directory on a 1GB/sec network, I will randomly get the dialog box to confirm overwrite of the existing file. (Remember that the target directory was empty originally.) I believe there is some kind of logic problem in the way the two copy threads decide which is the next file to copy. I notice this most when one thread is working on a large file and the second thread is working on a bunch of very short files.

Thanks in advance, Brian Bulaw

#1078 2.2.23 won't execute after install blocker 18 years 10 years
Description

Running Windows 98SE on a Dell Inspiron 3500 laptop.

I installed the latest version from the HEAnet (Ireland) mirror and ran it just like I do every other update to the program. I went to launch the program (both from the desktop shortcut, and from the actual EXE in the install directory) and it gave me a runtime error. sorry i don't have it in front of me... and I have since installed 2.2.22 on top of it - and the program runs fine now.

#855 2.2.29 fzsftp tacks CPU to 100% Alexander Schuch normal 19 years 17 years

I've noticed that after I leave filezilla connected to a server through an sftp connection that it tacks the CPU to 100% and continues to do so until I close the program. This happens in version 2.2.12c.

#1215 2.2.30: Can't start SFTP process, FzSFtp.exe "missing" normal 17 years 17 years
Description

I recently upgraded from 2.2.29 to 2.2.30. 2.2.29 was working flawlessly before the upgrade. Immediately after upgrading, SFTP stopped working. Upon trying to connect, FileZilla would report in the log window:

Error: Can't start SFTP process. Please ensure that the file 'FzSFtp.exe' is in the same folder as 'FileZilla.exe' Error: Unable to connect!

It would then retry several times with a pause in between tries. All attempts would fail. I went to my FileZilla installation folder (C:\Program Files\FileZilla) and verified that the program FzSFtp.exe did exist. When I opened a command prompt in that folder and manually executed that command, I got:

C:\Program Files\FileZilla>fzsftp Program too big to fit in memory

No configuration changes were made between the working version of 2.2.29 and the upgrade. Downgrading back to 2.2.29 let FileZilla start working again, so I'm assuming something changed in 2.2.30 that broke FzSFtp.exe. I was able to reproduce this problem on two different systems (one XP Pro SP2, the other XP Home SP2).
