I am using ubuntu 7.04 and I have filezilla 3.0.0 beta 7. When I try to upload to my openssh server via SFTP it works fine, but if the file is above 2GB it will tell me that the file is already there and ask me if I want to overwrite, which if I do the same question just re-appears. I installed GFTP to see if I'm able to upload the 2GB file and I am able to upload it without a problem, so that I could determine that the problem was with filezilla and not the server.

First of all, thanks for having ported my favorite FTP program (FileZilla of course ;o) ) to my favorite operating system (Gnu/Linux)!!!

As for the bug : FileZilla 3.0.1 displays the local and remote site directory tree and file areas, as well as the transfer queue area with a gray background instead of a white one. The message log on the other hand gets displayed with a white background, and the background of the icons of the remote directory tree is white as well, so I presume this is a (minor) bug.

It would be great if this could be fixed in a future release of FileZilla!

FileZilla 3.0.1 Ubuntu 7.10 (beta)

Problem: (I'm using the german version):

• server type "sftp", connection type "ask for password"
• try to connect. tick "remember password for this session". enter a wrong password
• try to connect again.

bug: although the password was wrong it is saved and i'm not able to correct it. I guess FileZilla should instead ask for the password, again.

This does not happen with the ftp-protocol.

Although I limit the socket thread num to 1, by set Menu->Edit->Settings->transfers->max simutaneously transfers to 1, the quick connections cannot reuse the command socket thread. Only if I connect to the site from the site manager, it works. And a similiar thing is the locale. Although the ftp specification requires the server to use utf-8 locale, but old ftp site and ftp server softwares may still use the multi-byte locale. So I think a locale setting for quick connections is necessary.

When connecting to an SFTP site, the program request to save in the cache the digital key of the site, because it is change since the last connect. Nevertheless, the next connection, or managing files in the first connection, the program request by new to save the digital key of the site.

when trying to delete too many files from the ftp server (like 11.000) the programs first gives an error message about the xml file ( I don't remember what it says but probably because the xml file can't write all those actions),then it gives another error,after clicking OK on those messages the programs continues to work normally but it's really annoying because you have to watch it and click ok everytime otherwise the tasks won't be executed.

The fzsftp.exe bundled with the Windows binary of FileZilla uses the registry keys of PuTTy's Default Settings configuration.

If you have set a default hostname or IP address in PuTTY, FileZilla cannot connect. Also if you are trying to connect to server that only allows private key as authorization, you won't be able to connect in FileZilla. You'll need to set a key in the default settings of PuTTy.

These two programs dependencies needs to be split.

I'm on Ubuntu Gutsy and I'm using filezilla client. I noticed that when you activate the option in Ubuntu to drag the windows with Ctrl + click then in Filezilla the selection of a file using Ctrl + click will not work. The option can be activated with System -> Preferences -> Windows

also on windows if you run more than one filezilla instances it will give you a xml writing access error.

The Maximum Simultaneous Transferts could not be changed while transfer is on. You have to set Maximum Simultaneous Transferts and relaunch Filezilla to make it taking into account this settings. Once you relaunch, the settings works properly and all threads work fine.

The problem of viewing and operating with cyrillic-named (Codepage 1251) folders on remote FTP (f.e. 85.118.227.108).

In "Site manager" I tried both "Autodetect" and "Custom charset" with no effect.

CP1251-named folders look correct in list view and incorrect in tree view (above the list view).

FileZilla 2.2.32 works fine with mentioned above FTP.

I am using FileZilla client 3.0.1 on Windows XP Pro. I believe the server I'm connected to is running some kind of Debian linux. The option for treating dotfiles as ASCII doesn't seem to work. I tried downloading a .htaccess file, and it always used binary mode, even when I added htaccess to the list of ASCII filestypes. When I unchecked the dotfiles as ASCII option while leaving htaccess listed as an ASCII filetype, .htaccess files were transferred as ASCII. In older versions of FileZilla I was able to manually set the transfer mode for each transfer, but that feature seems to have disappeared in the latest version. I for one would like to have that feature back.

When I open any of the windows they always pop down to the lower right corner of my screen. I'm not sure if everyone sees this behavior, it's just me or if it's a bug.

FileZilla "crashes" sometimes, when trying to upload through SFTP. When approx. 200+ files or end of queue, it can without no reason simply crash.

Happend while trying to upload Wordpress 2.3, which then had to be tried a few times, before succeed.

For reproduce, try either upload the folders wp-admin+wp-content or wp-includes.

Attached some more details (zipped), hope it helps a bit.

I am using filezilla for the very first time and think I have a bug when using the program to transfer files.

I tried to upload files to my ISP webspce and the bug seems to be that when sending a file it sends the same file twice.

is this supposed to happen or not?

When open the site manager the main window jumps drastically down to the right so each time after I open the site manager I need to drag the main window back to a useable location. If I open the site manager, close it and reopen it without ever adjusting the primary windows position, it will have jumped completely off the screen and can no longer even be seen.

FWIW, I was using many of the different Beta versions prior to the GM, and didn't have this issue in any of the Beta versions...

I just updated to 3.0.2, and now the message log area is visible but blank when I FTP. Before it was on 3-Verbose for debugging; changing this setting now doesn't help.

I just installed 3.0.2 on windows XP (SP2), imported the XML from version 2.2.32 and tried to connect to the servers. It works (I can upload/download), but the field where I normally see the communication between the FTP clent and the server stays blank.

In Windows Vista and Filezilla 3.0.2, the area of messages is empty, it's white when you try to connect to the server.

If you press the button "Show or hide area message" (aprox why my version is spanish) two times, then if the Filezilla show the messages correctly.

don't know if this is the correct place. When I start FZ 3.0.2.1 on my Win 2003 server I get a warning. That warning contains an error in the last sentence. At least in the Dutch translation, maybe as well in other languages. It says translated "only when you deactivate either the firewall or the application layer service then you will experience time-outs". It should probably read "only when you deactivate either the firewall or the application layer service then you will NOT experience time-outs". The correct sentence in Dutch for that is " Alleen wanneer je of de Windows Firewall uitschakelt of de Application Layer Gateway uitschakelt, dan zal FileZilla geen timeout hebben bij grote overdrachten".

It appears that files with iso 8859-1 accented characters (uploaded for instance by a Windows version of FileZilla) program are not shown in the Linux version of FileZilla 3.0.2.1 if the charset encoding is set to "Autodetect" or "Force UTF-8".

I tested this amongst others with a file called "Là.txt" that I uploaded with FileZilla 3.0.2.1 on a Windows machine with the charset option set to "Autodetect". The file does not show up in FileZilla 3.0.2.1 under SuSE Linux 10.1 on a x86_64 machine (I use the FileZilla binaries created by the FileZilla project), unless I use the custom charset "iso8859-1". I would expect FileZilla to list all files (except for hidden files if FileZilla is not configured to show them, of course), independent of the charset settings, the charset setting should only affect the way their names are displayed.

When I connect to my home computer which has following setting:

[LoginType=Interactive]

And I try to downlaod some MP3s, FileZilla asks me for my password even though I have already entered it. Sometimes happens 2/3 times.

Please give this part of the software close inspection.

On my computer, the tooltips for the QuickConnect host and port input fields 'flash'. This may be because the tooltip is placed under or nearly under the cursor.

However, the tooltip will occasionally display correctly if the cursor is placed very close to the left edge of the input field, or is moved to the left during the, mmm, 1/4 second the tooltip appears.

Nothing appears in the message log with debug=3.

Filezilla Client 3.0.2.1 in Windows XP SP2 does not prompt for a password when I try to connect to an SFTP Server. The problem occurs when you do not fill the password field in the site manager.

In version 2.2.32 there was always a pop up window where you could type your password.

Brand new Win2K install with current updates. Installed FileZilla 3021 to copy some programs and such from another machine on the LAN. Zipfiles seem to go just dandy, but I've discovered numerous .exe and .jpg files that consistently copy incorrectly with no reports of errors. The copy is invariably smaller than the original, but I've determined that the files are NOT simply truncated as I thought initially.

I installed FZ 2232 on the same machine and it transfers the same files perfectly. The server in question is FZ Server 0.9.18 beta, but I don't really think that's an issue because of the following.

I installed FZ 3021 to another machine and attempted to transfer one of the problem files from a Linux machine running vsftpd and ended up with an identically corrupted file (I did a binary compare with one from the other machine).

I'm attaching a jpeg that has this problem.

The remote file attribute dialog contains the placeholder <desc> instead of real text. And it's untranslantable.

Tried Edit > Import, found sitemanager.xml, clicked okay. Import Setting dialog popped up, site manager entries was checked. I clicked okay. Was told import was successful. Restarted. No entires in site manager.

Repeated process, same results.

I can't seem to upload anything above ~100KB. I thought this was a problem with the hosting service (bandwidth limit was reached), but I have the same issue with Sourceforge, and FileZilla 2.2.32 doesn't have this issue with either site. When I try to upload a large file, the progress bar will shoot to ~100KB finished (and I'm using dialup, so there's no way I can get 100Kb in less than a second) and stop. It will act like it's uploading, and after ~10 seconds, I get time out errors and (usually) a lost connection. After another few seconds it will ask me what to do (overwrite/resume/skip/etc.) even if the file didn't exist previously. I guess it uploads a little of the file and tries to upload again. In this example, I had it try to overwrite, and the cycle repeated. Then I had it resume, and the same thing happened. This example is with digital-signal.net (FTPES), but the exact same thing happens with Sourceforge (FTP). I can do the same thing and provide a log with Sourceforge if you want. I've also included a log from 2.2.32 with an attempt to upload the same file from the same place to the same place. The upload was successful with 2.2.32.

I tried to erase a folder on a SFTP server (long path, with space in it, no special characters) by pressing DEL key. Filezilla asks for confirmation, I confirm, then it makes a few transactions and the crash dialog show up.

At the university where I work, we connect to a clustered web server (approximately named 'webcluster') in order to upload web content. The SFTP server that we connect to is also clustered. It appears to be running server software from the SSH company.

The problem is that FileZilla doesn't know how to save more than one Host key fingerprint per FQDN. This makes sense for a traditional server setup, but now that clustered servers are becoming more common, FileZilla should have the ability to handle the multiple keys sent by a clustered SFTP server.

When I change the Maximum Simultaneous Transfers from 2 to 9 the number of transfers keeps limited to 2 transfers.

In the old version this setting could be changed at runtime while processing transfers. I couldn't test if that was the problem here.

I used Filezilla 3.01 and later 3.0.2.1 to upload updates to my CMS (e107). After uploading the updates I noticed that images were corrupt, specifically PNG files. I verified that images worked on my system (Vista Ultimate 64-bit), uploaded them and tried to view, but nothing.

Then I downloaded the image and tried to view it on my laptop, but the downloaded image was corrupt as well. I finally used the built in Windows Explorer to upload the PNG files and that worked, so I know the issue is in Filezilla.

I have not had this issue in the past with Filezilla.

When using the site manager to set a site-specific "Limit the number of simultaneous connections" option, the option checked/unchecked and the number of connections I set state are not saved (are ignored, in fact), regardless of the user hitting OK or "Connect" after doing the site setup.

Application crash when single click an item to induce a rename of the file and then clicking on the other "pane."

Example:

1. While connected to a server, single click the name of a local file
2. When rename begins, single click anywhere in the server pane (note: it must be the opposite pane as the rename)

With cuteftp everything works fine! So cuteftp can connect via ftps without problems through the firewall to the file zilla server. Regards Nikolai

if you use Hamachi and Filezilla ...

After 1 minute, the connection is completely closed in Hamachi. FileZilla try to reconnect. But the internet is still normal ! Only the Hamachi connection is close.

Too many connections ? (requests) With 3.0.x no problems.

Problem: I'm using GRC's PPP for passwords. The idea is that you have a paper card with you with lists of passcodes. When you log in, the server asks you for your password and then asks you for a passcode on the card. This is accomplished through challenge-response (interactive keyboard-based) SSH authentication. Filezilla does not ask the challenge that the server asks.

How to reproduce: Install Filezilla 3.03 on Ubuntu Gutsy. Install ppp-pam and configure it for SSH (located at ​http://code.google.com/p/ppp-pam/) Open Filezilla, configure it to log in using SFTP, then choose the interactive login method. Connect to the server.

What happens: The interactive dialog pops up, but it is blank and it doesn't ask which passcode to enter. See this screenshot: ​http://i12.tinypic.com/7wffgqq.png FileZilla should be asking for "Passcode 3A [1]", but the challenge box is blank. However, if the correct passcode is entered, the server authenticates me.

Again, I'm using FileZilla 3.0.3 with Ubuntu Gutsy.

If I delete more then 1000 files from a FTP-Server, FileZilla will crash after starting the process.

I configured FileZilla to the Debug-Level 3 and 4. FileZilla created no debug file after crash. I have only a Problem-Report by Windows.

I have a Microsoft Windows XP (Version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2 Build 2600) machine.

I installed ver 3.00 and have tried numerous times to download a file. It was aprox. 4gb off of my server.

It stops midway through and will not resume no matter what I do. I finally downloaded another ftp client and it resumed off of the partially downloaded file. I downloaded the new filezilla version 3.03 and it still had the same problem. I download an old version 2.2.26a that I run on my desktop and it resumed correctly. It is now downloading.

The downloading computer is a laptop running xp pro. Connecting wirelessly. The FTP server is on a 2003 server with Bullet Proof FTP Server. Everything on the server end is working correctly. I had another laptop that was running the filezilla version before the 3.00 version. I downloaded several 4 gb files with not one problem. I have downloaded several files of the same size on my desktop that is running 2.2.26a.

The last 2 version are the only ones I had problem with it.

I am not looking for a fix since I am downloading everything good with the 2.2.26a version. I just wanted to let you know.

BTW, I have rewritten the file and even started over fresh over 6 times to make sure that it wasn't on my end before I sent this in.

Increasing the multiple file transfer limit did not do anything until I restarted the FileZilla client.

Steps to reproduce:

• Start with multiple file transfer limit of 2 (defauly settings)
• Place items from FTP server into queue
• Increase the multiple file transfer limit to 10
• Process queue

The queue will only have 2 simultanious file transfers.

The queue will not have 10 simultanious file transfers.

This is probably two bugs, but here ya go. I'm using ver. 3.0.3. It does not list new files after upload. I can choose another directory and then go back to it but it does not reload the directory, thus I do not see the new file.

Also, after transfering a bunch of files (I'm compiling a new website so I transfer as many as 100 files over the course of an hour), it stops uploading anything. I have to completely close the program and restart.

I was trying to delete from an FTP site some directories containing pictures. I noticed that when trying to delete the directories containing lots of files (> 500), at some point the client crashes (the window dissapears completely). For this reason, I cannot provide you with the debug logs which I activated to "verbose" level.

A work-around is to select some files and delete them, and then select another batch, until the directory gets small enough to be deleted without crash.

I have FZ updated automatically to 3.0.3, but I didn't notice this behaviour the previous version (which honestly, I don't know what it was).

My hardware (if needed): Intel Core 2 Duo E6600, 2GB RAM

When using a low speed windows network drive as the local site in Filezilla client 3.0 it is painfully slow. There is no useful indication by the program that it is busy, and any clicks/drags all catch up when it comes back to life (potentially causing havoc).

Low speed windows network drive = mapped drive letter to a remote site over a typical UK ADSL line (8Mbit down 800Kbit up)

Open Site Manager from 3.0.4RC1 to 3.0.4 lost the Down Arrow to select an FTP site now you have to open Site Manager, pick a site & use Connect.

Transferring a file with the same name as one existing at the destination will trigger the "Target file already exist" dialog. In that dialog, there are three check boxes: Always use this action Apply to current queue only Apply only to downloads

I think that when the user clicks one of check boxes 2-3, checkbox #1 should also become selected. In Filezilla 3.0.4, this doesn't happen, and checking #2 or #3 without checking #1 has no effect on subsequent items in the queue.

Filezilla show me the wrong Server-Time at my server.

So, i changed it in the "Server-Manager" -> Tab "More" -> Timezone.

But, when i change the hours and i check the server-time, i edit the minutes and not the hours. When i change the minutes, i see no changes.

German: Auf meinem Server werden die Zeiten falsch angezeigt. Wenn ich z.B. um 20Uhr eine Datei hoch lade, steht auf meinem Server 21Uhr.

Ich bin dann in den Server-Manager -> Erweitert -> Zeitzonenversetzung gegangen und wollte dort die 1 Stunde ausgleichen, doch wenn ich die Stunden ausgleiche, dann ändern sich die Minuten. Z.B. stelle ich +10 Stunden ein, dann habe sich auf dem Server die Zeiten um 10 Minuten geändert und nicht um Stunden.

Wenn ich es bei Minuten mache, dann ändert sich scheinbar nichts auf dem Server.

Ich hoffe, ihr habt mich verstanden.

With FF3 I experience incomplete file downloads. I set a download, then do my work at other programs. Returning to FF3 all downloads are complete (nothing in failed tranfers), but the file size is smaller. I put the file back to queue, it brings the resume dialog.

Saw this many times. Could provide additional data.

I renamed a file remotely (F2), switced windows, server disconnected and I got this. Only after I closed the rename dialog I was able to reconnect to any server.

FTP keepalive function only work for 30 minutes. If really no any action by user, after 30 minutes, FZ3 will stop to send keepalive command.

I check the code in CFtpControlSocket::StartKeepaliveTimer(), it will check the value of m_lastCommandCompletionTime, but m_lastCommandCompletionTime won't be update for keepalive command, so it will stop after 30 minutes.

Is this a bug or just by design?

Yesterday I've upgraded to latest version of Filezilla Client (3.0.4.1) and I've found a bug:

When I was uploading nearly 600 files (a backup), filezilla stopped uploading files, there were two files "Uploading" but nothing happened. I tried to re-connect to the server and it didn't upload any more file. I had to restart FileZilla. I've tried to do it in 2 different servers and with different files but it's almost impossible do a massive upload...

I've been using filezilla since it was 1.x (I don't remember which exactly) but it never happened this...

I cannot connect to a server that runs OpenSSH_3.9p1, OpenSSL 0.9.7a Feb 19 2003, with SFTP. FileZilla 3 shows the following:

Status: Selected port usually in use by a different protocol. Status: Connecting to <servername>:<port>... Response: fzSftp started Command: open "<login>@<servername>" <port> Error: ssh_init: Name or service not known Error: Could not connect to server Status: Waiting to retry...

In FileZilla 2, I can connect to this server without problems, FileZilla shows the following:

Status: Connecting to <servername>:<port> ... Status: Connected with <servername>:<port>, initializing SFTP connection... Command: CONNECT <login>@<servername>:<port> Response: Remote working directory is <directory> Status: Connected

The main difference seems to be in the command line, I get the impression that FileZilla 3 now uses a command that the server (i.e. OpenSSH 3.9p1) does not interpret correctly. It is very unlikely for me to get the server administrator change the version of OpenSSH, and I presume that my server is not the only server out there that still runs this version of OpenSSH.

I'm using Windows XP SP2 with Filezilla 3.0.4.1. I chose "Shutdown system" in "Action after queue completion." When queue completed, it pop up a dialog and countdown. When countdown end, nothing happened.

But when I chose "Run command" and run "shutdown -s -f -t 0," it worked.

Using 3.0.4.1 on WinXP Pro. Behavior in FZ2 was that when focus is on Remote Site panel or Local Site panel, user could start typing using the 10-key portion of the keyboard, and the focus would narrow to folders matching user input. This still works using the primary keyboard area and number row, but not using 10-key.

Expected behavior - any keyboard input while focus is on either Remote or Local Site panels would search/focus on folders/files matching user input.

(Sorry if my jargon is off, this is the first bug/feature ever submitted.)

I received the popup for the action to take when the file exists and I selected Overwrite on upload and Ask for Action on download. I checked "Always use these settings" I also went to Transfer - Default File Exists Action and entered the same selections. I ALSO went to Edit - Settings - File Exists Action and made the same selections.

On upload, I am sometimes asked for my selection again and sometimes the file is not overwritten. When I go back to those areas, the selections have usually been returned to default.

I have this program installed at home as well and I don't think I receive the same problems.

In the configure script shipped with FileZilla 3.0.4, line 19659 reads:

if COMPILER=$CC --version | head -n 1; then

However, most non-gcc compilers don't have a --version flag, so this results in "Unknown version" being displayed in the "About FileZilla" dialogue box if $CC != gcc.

For HP-UX 11.11, the closest I could get for HP's ANSI C compiler was:

if COMPILER=what /usr/bin/cc | grep Compiler; then

But then the same command on HP-UX 11.23 and 11.31 doesn't work (the output from 'what /usr/bin/cc' is completely different - there isn't even a line with a 'Compiler' string in it...).

I don't know what the solution to this is - my gut feeling is that, say, Sun's own C compiler on Solaris might have similar issues. Maybe it's best just to not include the compiler version and do a "uname -a" or something similar and have it as "Build system: " line.

The Site Manager doesn't immediately alphabetize the button pull-down menu list on a site rename; it seems to only after opening the Site Manager dialog again, even after closing and reopening FileZilla itself.

Navigating a remote view using the listing pane doesn't properly update the treeview.

Consider this example directory structure:

/www/ /www/folder1/ /www/folder1/subfolder1/ /www/folder1/subfolder2/ /www/folder1/subfolder3/ /www/folder2/ /www/folder3/

After connecting to the server, if you use the file list pane to navigate as follows:

www -> folder1 -> subfolder1

The tree view will only display

[-] /

[-] www

[-] folder1

[-] subfolder1

However, if I use the treeview itself to navigate the same folders, it will then show all of the folders, as one would expect...

[-] /

[-] www

[-] folder1

[-] subfolder1 ? subfolder2 ? subfolder3

? folder2 ? folder3

When I'm downloading files from my webserver, which only allows ONE connection (I set filezilla to only use one connection) it still tries to use two. One to get the names of the files, and the other to download them. I thought, ok, I'll just stop the queue. When I did that it restarted the queue for each file it added. I think this is a very big bug, as it is very annoying.

Sometimes the download fails before a file is downloaded fully. That's nothing unusual actually. So I resume and it says something like "350 Restarting at 16177624." and all seems well and the download of the file continues. But when it reaches 100% the download simply goes on and on endlessly, blowing the file up and corrupting it.

I am on WinXP Pro SP2 using 3.0.4.1 I tried 3.0.2.1 and 3.0.3 before and they had the same problem.

previous versions (2.x of filezilla eg 2.2.32) perfectly understood file names like "Les carnets du bourlingueur - Mar 25-12-2007 20:05:03.vob" but current version 3.x (I use 3.0.4.1) doesn't and the file is transferred as "05:03.vob"

Well.

In the version 3 of the FileZilla, when the client scans all folders to add files to the queue waiting for transfer.

In version 2, it was possible to stop the transfer, and that the programme should continue exploring the folders and files only add to the queue.

But in the version 3 is not possible, if you have to stop transferring queue, FileZilla continues to transfer files added after being told to stop transferring queue.

I think we should be able to stop completely, as my hosting crashes why do too many things at the same time.

And I have to start exploring folders why then do not know that point has left explore when blockade.

On an internal copy of files, the copy cursor is shown. The exerted action is moving.

The queue window doesn't list correct file names once queue processing has started and multiple files are being processed.

The screenshot attached shows three files that wait to be downloaded from a remote host. If Queue processing is enabled via the context menu, the display changes. The last file is displayed twice, the one before it is not displayed anymore. This changes when one actually selects the second file, in that case the list display is refreshed with the correct information.

It has nothing to do with multiple threads - for creating the screenshots I just used a single thread for simplicity.

This is a redraw problem only - the files downloaded are always the ones that were selected for download in the first place.

FileZilla version used: 3.0.4.1

OS used: Windows XP Prof. SP2

When I start Filezilla 3.0.5 RC1 on Vista SP1, it is not possible to open the Servermanager with click on the Servermanager Button in the Toolbar. Ctrl + S works. File -> Servermanager works,too. After opening the Servermanager one time, it works also with the Button.

If I close the programm and start it again. Same problem.

When transferring a directory from the remote site to the local filesystem --

1. Browse to the file in question, and sync it with your computer (upload or download, I don't care)
2. Go up a level
3. Update the file *in a different FTP client, on another PC, or with a web script, etc.*

PRODUCE ERROR

1. Transfer the folder with the file in question to your computer using the same FileZilla program, still open, that you used in step 1.
2. Select "Overwrite if newer"
3. Make it "apply to all ... downloads"
4. OK
5. Some files will be skipped instead of downloaded!

(The download may have to include a subfolder with the new file(s); I don't know.)

FIX All folders and subdirectories being transferred should be re-LISTED instead of going on a cache. The cached lookup was probably 18 hours old in my case.

Filezilla 3.0.5-RC1 Ubuntu 7.10

Upload multiple files (at least two) on your server. Afterwards, upload the same files again. You will be asked on how to proceed. Tick "Overwrite", "Always use this action", "Apply to current queue only".

You should think that that should do the trick.

But mysteriously, you are asked again on how to proceed with one of the files. which is highly confusing.

You should be asked once for the whole queue, I guess....

Here's the scenario:

1. File TEST.ASP has 1 paragraph of text in it.
2. TEST.ASP is uploaded from LOCAL to a REMOTE Windows-based FTP server
3. TEST.ASP is edited to now have 5 paragraphs of text in it, and it is uploaded to the REMOTE, overwriting.
4. TEST.ASP is changed remotely down to 1 paragraph (either via the right-click View/Edit functionality or otherwise).

Up to this point, things work fine.

5. The Remote TEST.ASP is then transferred from REMOTE to LOCAL, and "Overwrite" is chosen.

Keep in mind that the REMOTE is only one paragraph, and the local is 5. This is where things get strange.

The resulting LOCAL file is 5 paragraphs long, but with the content of the 1 paragraph file overwriting from the beginning of the file, like so:

So, it would appear to me that files transferred from REMOTE to LOCAL and overwritten are not being deleted and/or "cleared out" before the overwrite happens.

My transfer setting is "Auto", and I've reproduced this on two different Windows FTP servers. I'm currently using FileZIlla 3.0.4.1.

The option "Show hidden files" can be checked or not, Filezilla 3.0.4.1 on Windows XP always shows hidden files.

in my version 3.0.4.1 I have a problem. When I upload a file this is correctly transfered but the status indicator was blocked on 100% transfer bar and not write "completed transfer"... See in the figure a completed transfer...

1. When editing a locale file this window pops-up, but it is to small, buttons are out of the window. (see screen)

2. Can't turn that feature off, as far as i can see.

3. "Finish editing"?? i just edit the local file, seems to me useless.

While writing this, the feature "edit"(local) stopped working completly, starting filezilla new does not help.

If selecting 2 or more folders on the server and then deleting them, gets filezilla to crash.

setting for that would be great.

Using FileZilla 3.0.5, I can only edit local files, when connected to a remote maschine. If I disconnect and try to edit a local file nothing happens. As soon as I connect to a remote maschine, local editing works again ;-)

BTW: Will there be a online help for version 3 client, like for the version 2 branch of FileZilla client ?

When drag and dropping a remote folder onto another remote folder crashes filezilla

I always get an error msg that there was a problem while searching for a new version.

If selecting Default system language in Settings and clicking on OK, alerts "Failed to set language to Default system language, using default system language". Interface is then always in english. Setting it directly to german works perfektly.

My Windows XP SP2 is a German one, with all patches installed. FZ 3.0.5.1

If i can somehow help and test some things on my system let me know as i don't know how you determind the system language.

I don't know if that special character makes problems, but when right clicking on a local file in the popup menu there is a item called 'Oeffnen'. It's not wrong but normally 'Öffnen' should be used as other items('Löschen') also use special characters.

I don't know who maintenance the German translations, if there is no one i could do that.

I use FileZilla in a corporate environment with "ClockShifted" servers.

If, for example, the server time was set to 17th Feb 2008 and something is created on the server, when FTPing to the server, it will show as uploaded on 17th Feb 2007

Running version 3.00.4.1 under Vista SP1 causes explorer to crash due to corrupted heap. Had a Vista expert search through the crash log and they fingered the Filezilla shell extension as the culprit. Removed Filezilla and sure enough, explorer.exe is now a happy camper.

Read the past bug reports but did not see anything to indicate this is a known or fixed problem so I thought I'd let you know.

expert's report below. Bottom line is that this version of filezilla is not healthy.

_pdaSheetList is a pointer, but its value seems to be 0x00000008 (or at least that was the address where the access violation occurred). Since it is a member variable and should always be valid, this suggests heap corruption. Given that the crashes happened in multiple files every few minutes, I would assume that some code loaded into explorer.exe is corrupting large amounts of the heap randomly.

There were 159 modules loaded into the explorer process when it crashed. Of these, my bet would be on fzshellext.dll (C:\Program Files\FileZilla Client\fzshellext.dll). It’s the newest library (compiled on 11/27/2007) other than SP1 files. It is hosted at ​http://sourceforge.net/projects/filezilla/. From what I could tell, the version that you have on your computer (3.00.4.1) has had numerous reported bugs related to its shell extension. And when I tried to install it on my computer, I started having issues with explorer.exe (not the same issues as you, but explorer kept maxing out the CPU, even after I tried to uninstall FileZilla).

for some time now large files over 120megs stop at 100% and does not progress in the que, tho files under 110megs do not stop at 100% and progress in the que till it comes to the next large in excess of the 120megs to progress in the que the que must first be stopped and then restarted..

I selected the first time the option "show hidden files" from the menu. got that alert saying it works only with ftp. But the remote view did not reload. Maybe this is not a bug, but would be helpful.

Both filezialla.xml and queue.xml became corrupted resulting in 'please make sure that the file is valid' error message on starting FileZilla. This was successfully resolved by finding and deleting these files before opening FileZilla. This problem occurred originally in the version before 3.0.5.2 running on Windows 2000 - files for other programs (Firefox, etc) were also corrupted at the same time so suspect problem was caused by OS. Hope this is helpful to anyone else who encounters this problem.

Attempt to list login directory (or any other) generates invalid file reference. See below:

I changed the language from Traditional Chinese to English in the Settings dialog. It changed the main menu at the top to English, but the lower components were still displaying Traditional Chinese. After I restarted Filezilla, all elements were correctly displayed in English.

I have FileZilla 3.0.5.2, and I chose for it to shutdown on queue completion (right-click in the queue, action after queue completion, shutdown system), and when the queue completes successfully a box appears saying "system will soon shutdown unless" and a progress bar, which increases. There's a skip and a cancel button. If I leave it for the progress bar to reach the end, the window disappears, but the system does not shut down. No messages are listed in the status box at the top of the window regarding this error (where the connection and transfer messages go -- is that the only place to get this log?). If I try again, and choose "skip" instead, still nothing happens, but the progress bar window goes away. If there's any more information you need from me, please let me know. I'm using Windows XP SP2.

I believe the log you want is attached -- please let me know if this is not the case.

When the focus is in the file list (local or remote), when I type a letter (for example "i") the filename selection (or focus ?) goes to the next directory or filename which begins with the typed letter (for example "index.html"). Intuitively, it should work the same way in the "directory trees" (local or remote), but it does not. I remember it worked in Filezilla 2 versions.

I'm connecting to an FTP server, and downloading an entire site to a local directory, and i get some directories messed up, files that on the server where on directory "A" now they are on directory "B" and the ones that where on directory "B" are on "C". But it seems like random.

I am using version 3.0.5.2 on Ubuntu Linux.

I am attaching an screenshot where you can see the files downloaded to another directory.

When dragging files and folders to new locations, they are copied if going between a remote and a local site, or moved if staying within the same site. However, the icon always indicates that the file will be copied, even when it is actually being moved.

In FileZilla version 3.0.5.2, symbolic links on a remote FTP server are treated as folders in Filezilla. This causes you to be unable to download that file. Other FTP clients and a prior version of Filezilla (Version 2.2.32) did allow for the client to follow the symlink and download the file.

This only appears to be the case when dealing with symbolic links to files. Symbolic links to directories are handled correctly.

When using a Wacom tablet you get the following message when browsing folders on the remote site:

Message A directory cannot be dragged into one of its subfolders

I'm using OS X 10.5 with the latest Wacom drivers.
