The latest version (v3.7.1) cannot resize the lower pane columns under Win7 64bit. It was working in the past, please help to check, thanks!

FileZilla version 3.7.1.1 Windows 7, service pack 1. Issue discovered when connecting over a secure SFTP-SSH protocol connection. The Last modified date of a .txt file is showing the year 2010, when it should show 2013. This only occurs over the secure connection, not in any regular FTP connection protocol. This is not an issue with the remote site as a different FTP program used at my institution displays with the correct 2013 date. Attaching .png screen shopts of both for examples.

I have been trying to use filezilla to upload a site but, Critical error keeps appearing. I am 100% certain my login details are correct so i don't know what the problem is.

When exporting Servermanager data, the password is not encrypted!!!

These steps will reproduce the problem:

1. Establish a FTP connection to a server.
2. Edit a file on the server by right clicking it and choosing "View/Edit": File opens in your editor.
3. Change the edited file with a script language like PHP: The editor doesn't display the changed file! Even if you choose "View/Edit" again, the old version gets displayed.

If you download the file to your HDD, you see the changes.

I use two monitors, and when I want to upload a file, which already exists, I get an alert. But the alert doesn't appear on that screen where the filezilla program is opened. Instead, the messege appears on the other monitor in the background.

I would like to be able to specify specific file types to be recognized as either binary or ascii so that I can use the auto setting and be assured Filezilla will detect the correct file type. FileZilla crashes when I try to delete 350,000 some things from the to do list

Our sFTP site is populated with files from our File Shares. When opening FileZilla, the access to these shares is excruciatingly slow, often taking over a minute to populate with the files found on the drive (none of which are over 1MB). The access to these shares are not slow when accessed through any other means (Windows Explorer, for example).

Hi there, please bear with me as I am new to this type of forum. I have used filezilla for quite sometime now and up til recently have had no problems. However, now when I try to connect, my monitor goes to a black screen with a blinking cursor and a white rectangular small box in the upper left corner...almost like a DOS screen. . I can do control alt delete and my screen appears normal again, however when I try to download a file, the same thing happens.Also Task manager is open when I clear the black screen I have installed the latest vs of filezilla, also uninstalled and reinstalled it and same thing. I use XP and IE8. any help or insight will sure be appreciated. thanks!

I would like the ability to enter a search term (optional wildcards, optional case sensitivity, optional search subfolders), and have it find files in the FTP server.

I'm using Kubuntu gnu/linux 12.04. I have downloaded and installed Filezilla directly from your site. I've been using it in this Kubuntu distribution for about a week now (few days).

Today when using the Site Manager after configuring several sites, I find that when I click on "Connect" or "Ok" Filezilla just crashes and goes away. This is happening to me all the time and is not allowing me to use the Client (will I have to go look into another one after using Filezilla in Windows for 6 years?).

So this is just going on when turning on the "Site Manager", choosing one site from the list and then clicking on "Connect" or "Ok" -it happens with either-, then Filezilla just crashes.

I have tested with LFTP and gnutls 3.2.2 and it works, then I have rollback'd the gnutls lib to the previous 3.2.1 version and filezilla also works.

I have attached both client and server logs at the debug level.

Hello, I try to use Filezilla in my network with windows server 2012 and only works if i disable the firewall. I create all the firewall rules to permit Filezilla and cant work.

Hi It was impossible to use FileZilla Client behind a Microsoft Firewall (TMG, Threat Management Gateway, successor of ISA Firewall) with default FTP settings.

They allow only specific "Read" FTP commands and filter the others. So "MSLD" ("List Directory") produced "550 Access denied". A FTP session was not possible.

Interestingly "FtpExplorer" could list the directory but failed later by creating a directory on the remote server.

Would be very cool if FileZilla could use the "right" commands as client so it just works without the need to convince a paranoid admin to change the TMG settings "Hey, these settings are ok, they are from MS, you know! And what shi OpenSource you dare to use!!!". You perhaps know the tone...Well, perhaps the Microsoft settings are f*&% up. This may be the case.

Would be great if it is possible to change Filezilla commands.

In a filter, I specified: to be excluded if it "contains" a "~".

I have several DIRECTORIES named ".../UBS~/..." or ".../~Stuff/..." which the filter is not excluding. I also tried "begins with" and "ends with", but neither of those seem to work either.

I am using Filezilla for sending some files from my pc to MVS system. My pc file is bigger than my mvs file and I am using SITE TRUNCATE command for truncating rows. But this command is not working with filezilla.

Upgraded from 3.7.1 to 3.7.2. Installed. Main and welcome screen appeared. Clicked on "Quickconnect" drop down arrow and selected (already existing) account and Filezilla crashes.

An attempt to restart Filezilla displays the message "Could not find the resource files for FileZilla, closing FileZilla. / You can set the data directory of FileZilla using the '--datadir <custompath>' commandline option or by setting the FZ_DATADIR environment variable."

Downgraded to 3.7.1 which works for me without problem.

In particular, when you're using servers on the LAN, there's absolutely no reason you'd want to use limiting -- or if you do you'd want at least to set a very high limit, far higher than that of most people's Internet connections. At the minimum there should be an option in the site manager under each individual site's settings to be able to bypass the speed limiting that you could enable as needed (IMO a per-site setting is the most universal and useful way rather than an option to bypass on LAN addresses in the main settings as there can still be times where a limit might be needed.) Ideally I think there should be a per-site setting so it could be adjusted to deal with more finicky servers or bad routes (such as when dealing with some servers overseas) for instance. Sometimes a more universal setting just doesn't apply to some.

It's really annoying having to change the setting back and forth every time I switch between using FileZilla for transferring files through the network (I find that sftp is the nicest way overall for me to deal with file transfers to/from my cellphone and tablet in particular, but also it's more convenient with my server sometimes since it can queue a long list of assorted things whereas drag and drop via SMB gets messy if it's not something you can select all at once.) If I'm uploading online I need a limit obviously, but when transferring through the network I'd rather squeeze every last bit of speed I can out of it instead for fairly obvious reasons. (It's pretty unlikely anything realistic will max out my LAN's bandwidth after all...)

I upgraded my OS to Windows 7. Ever since then the message log window in my Filezilla client is in this extremely small font. It is not like this in any other application so changing the font size in Windows will change applications which are displaying correctly. My version of Filezilla is 3.7.3. I have no direct connection to the Internet and I`m using "Generic proxy". Check for program updates hangs when connecting through a proxy server eg TinyProxy on starting TLS connection(Why TLS?).

(Using filezilla-client on the [Win7-GW-PC] itself works fine.)

Hint: After setting debug-mode to 3 for testing and a restarting the filezilla-client just one time the directory was displayed correctly, but that could not be reproduced yet. This might have been a coincidence but leads me to the assumption that timing might be an issue here.

When FileZilla asks to download an update, the downloading view is cropped at, i guess, 80% width.

I am connecting FileZilla 3.7.3 from Windows 7 Ultimate to a Windows 2008 server running freeFTPd. Everything functions as expected, but the dates displayed in the LAST MODIFIED column are incorrect in specific instances. IF the first item in the "ls" of the default folder/dir is a FILE the dates are all fine for the whole session. IF the first item in the "ls" list of the default folder is a FOLDER the date modified column shows ALL dates in the range of 12/31/1969 to late 1970. The dates remain incorrect for the complete session. I have tried other SFTP clients and they are fine even with the first item as a folder. This is a FileZilla problem.

FileZilla Client only has to copy the URL address of the FTP, it would be great if the ability to make available also copy the URL of the HTTP address, would greatly facilitate our lives. Eg

I have downloaded FileZilla 3.7.3 but can't install it. I get the following pop up:

“You must be connected to the internet to complete your installation. Please connect and try again”

I've tested my connection and was definitely connected to the internet. I disabled my firewall and virus protection, but got the same result again and again. Can you help please? Kind regards.

Hey there i have 2 directory that wont delete in filezilla they are:

I right click on them and press yes to delete then i get this respone: 550 failed to change directory & error faile to retrive directory listing.

After updated to Filezilla Client ver. 3.7.3, the Chinese characters (Chinese (TW))that can displayed correctly in previous version becomes 'Symbols" now. It can only display English characters even I changed language option in "Preference" from system default to Chinese (TW).

I use many connection at the same time to the same servers. If I close Filezilla, and reopen it, I have to manually start them all one after the other. It would be great to have the option so that at startup, the last open sessions are reopened (or at least the tabs are preserved).

I'm using capistrano for deployment.

This creates a datestamp-named folder and updates a symlink called "current".

In FileZilla, refreshing the directory containing this symlink doesn't update the target.

I guess that the destination of the symlink is cached, but can't be in this situation.

This problem just started happening today. I cannot open the application on my Mac at work. As soon as I do, a Problem Report for FileZilla box pops up. Can someone please help me get this working again? It is essential to my web development work. Thanks.

it would be nice, when Filezilla client can give a sound when connection is established with a server or when the download is finished. Maybe this can be optional and that the user can browse to a wav file for these actions. I am using Filezilla client version 3.7.3

Very similar to ticket # 8870: I download v3.7.3, and start the installer. There's a pause, and then an error message pops up stating "You must be connected to the internet to complete your installation. Please connect and try again."

Of course I'm connected - I just browsed to the filezilla-project.org website and downloaded the client, demonstrating a working Internet connection, so I'm not sure what the issue could be. I've attached a screen shot as requested in ticket # 8870.

FileZilla makes icons fuzzy, when non-default DPI resolution is set on Windows. Look at the example (125% of default 96 DPI):

are both translated in Italian with the same string,

The ANY version should maybe say,

(I believe that "Filter out" is better rendered by "Nascondi" (Hide) than "Nessuna corrispondenza trovata" (No match found), since it is describing the action that FileZilla will undertake).

Good Morning, today I noticed several times the same problem: copying a lot of files (500~1000) to an empty folder I receive (randomly) the message: "the target file already exists, please chose an action ..." In the message box the first file has the correct size, the second file has a size of ZERO byte. I think may be a problem in the creation and copy of the file. Since I upgraded to FileZilla 3.7.3, all files uploaded to the server AND those created on the server outside of FileZilla are displaying with an incorrect (future) date.

A file created locally and uploaded to the server today (09/06/2013 @ 14:33:59) using FileZilla is showing a last mod date of 04/30/2014 16:59:23.

I can verify the actual server attributes on the file as today:

I get an "error writing xml file" and several others attached when I try to launch the program. Downloaded it 3X and same thing each time. Wouldn't quit. Had to force quit to move on. Worked fine on the PC.

I tried new installation,downloaded the new Client Download file and tried to install it. However my malwarebytes virus protection blocking/Quarantine it. The file that was quarantined is: PUP.Optional.BundledToolBar.A

The new windows update (security fixes only) on 9/10/13 "broke" my filezilla. When I right click a file to view or do anything with, it produces an error. Did a system restore before update and Filezilla works again just fine. Sorry that I didn't write down the error message before system restore :( but I know the update messed up 3.7.3 that I use.

When transferring a file, saved with ANSI encoding,from my pc to the server (z/OS), the danish national language characters in the file isn't translated correctly (as it used to be in older FZ versions). Å is being translated to $ Æ is being translated to [ Ø is being translated to @

after installing filezilla i changed the default texteditor from notepad to notepad++ Filezilla shows the notepad++ icon on files associated with it, but still opens the files with notepad.

I upload 3 files at the same time(300~700KiB/s per file, >300MB files), it sometimes cause the whole operating system lag.

Add git a filter rule to ignore the .git directory to the filter "CVS and SVN directories". Probably we would also add mercurial at this point thus also ignore .hg directories. A rename then would be adequate: "Ignore source control directories (CVS, SVN, Git, Hg)"

This is an issue that we have observed over the past several years, but have worked around. I just figured perhaps I should inform you because the workaround is getting to be a pain. We use Filezilla to move data folders from our Nuclear Magnetic Resonance spectrometers to individual students' and researchers' computers for data processing. These folders contain a mixture of ASCII and Binary files. When one downloads a data folder with the Transfer Type set to "Auto" the result is corrupted data, presumably because Filezilla fails to recognize the Binary files as distinct from the ASCII files. When one sets the transfer type to "Binary", everything works just fine. The thing is, "Auto" should recognize these files and it apparently does NOT. Each year we introduce a new crop of students to using our spectrometers and the concepts of moving data and inevitably the need to switch data modes gets lost in the shuffle. I would really appreciate it if you guys could fix this.

I'm using FileZilla client version 3.7.3 and trying to connect to a FTP server. I can connect to the server just fine manually via command shell FTP from my system. I can tell it's running FileZilla server because the output of 'remotehelp server' tells me so.

My FileZilla client never shows folders/files in the remote pane. There's just a message that says 'Not connected to any server'. During the connect process the activity log shows the following and just keeps re-attempting over and over again:

Hi! I noticed that login details are stored in plain text, without encryption (%APPDATA%\Roaming\FileZilla). When someone capture the one file easily gain access to all saved accounts! It is very dangerous. Why this data is unencrypted?

I don't have access to the server files to be able to apply the workaround for the preceding seemingly well known issue. Any idea if someone is working on a permanent fix?

Therefore it would be great to have an additional context menu command: "Create and enter directory". It creates a directory - and automatically change the path into it.

You operate two parallel ftp channels. These tend to be response time limit when dealing with short files and bandwidth limited when transferring large files.

By selecting one channel only to do the biggest files first and the other to do smallest files first, you will get better use of bandwidth

I am transferring files from one computer to another and it does not preserve the date/time information. Under transfer, I have a checkmark by the line to preserve that information.

When I use FileZilla to transmit large .txt files, it sometimes sends them over and over again until I catch it. Obviously this causes problems in my workflow and that might be the case for other people too.

These ciphers and MAC were added to OpenSSH 6.2 release. Unfortunately, FileZilla 3.7.3 wont connect via SFTP protocol to my servers that exclusively use these ciphers and MAC.

Bug's Trigger :

1. Do a Site Connect by clicking on the Site Manager's dropdown button and choose the site I want to connect
2. Connection occurs
3. After a successful connection, the bug appears on the Toolbar
4. Look of the Toolbar seems to be weird / not normal
5. I tried to change the theme by going to Edit > Settings > Interface > Themes > and select the other theme options than those currently in use
6. Look of the Toolbar return to normal view

When we login with Filezill all time stamps that we FTP'd show 7 hours behind PST. GMT is 7 hours ahead. PST time 2:22PM time of file Filezilla 7:22AM GMT is 9:22PM

How do we fix this?

When I attempt to download the FileZilla client version it keeps telling me, "You must be connected to the internet to complete your installation."

I obviously am connected to the internet so I'm not sure why this keeps coming up.

Is this a computer problem on my end or a download problem on your end?

"Filezilla cannot be installed because it from an unidentified developer."

I downloaded the file from download.cnet.com.

Is this something that can be easily fixed? I use Filezilla all the time and it would be a shame to not be able to use it on my new machine for this reason.

Could you please add forward/back and up/down directory buttons to the local and remote pane headers. Currently, the only way seems to be to either edit the file path, or to scroll to the top of the directory listing and click on the up one level .. icon, neither of which is efficient. I came to FileZilla from CuteFTP and your application is superior in most respects, except for this detail.

I'm using Filezilla for a couple of years now to copy files to and from my mediacenter hard-drive. Everything worked fine till today. When connecting to the disk (in this case acting as an ftp server), it shows all my drives as files. And therefore they won't open up in Filezilla. I'm just getting odd error messages like "file copy failed". I tried another FTP-application and it opens up fine, also when using Firefox, there are no problems at all.

I also tried re-installing Filezilla and we are using the latest version of the software on Windows 7 Professional SP1.

After installing the latest version of Filezilla (version info at the bottom) I noticed that I cannot move the FileZilla window around the desktop. It is fixed in the location in which it opened.

I've tried clickng and dragging, closing and reopening FileZilla to no avail. The window is stuck in a single location. I click & hold on the top of the window (as you normally would) to move the window and nothing happens.
