#3742 | Edit option grayed out in local context menu | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client | rejected
Description |
FileZilla Client Version 3.1.2 Build date: 2008-08-30 Context menu to "Edit" a file on the local site window is grayed out if not connected to a remote site. "Open" works but doesn't use the defined editor. Once connected to a remote site the Local Site Window "Edit" option becomes available. I noticed this right away when I first upgraded from version 2. This bug previously reported 5 weeks ago as ticket #3637 "Edit option not available" and closed by sf-robot. That ticket stated: "This problem began when I updated from 3.0.11.0." |

#3743 | Upload limited to 10mbps on a 10/100 network. | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client | outdated
Description |
I use FileZilla to transfer files between computers on my network. I used to have a problem with it only transferring files at 10mbps, then one version the bug was fixed, and now the bug is back again. I don't know how many versions back it was reintroduced. It happens both with ftp and sftp transfers now. I think before it only happened with sftp tranfers. I know it isn't my network because I can transfer files using scp at the full 100mbps. |

#3747 | Mouse moves erratically during downloads | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client | outdated
Description |
During FTP downloads mouse moves erratically (very jerky overshoots or jumps wildly) If by luck the you can click "Toggle processing of the transfer queue" the mouse immeadiately responds normally as it does as soon as the download complete. I've seen similar problems if interrupts are disabled for too long and mouse movement events are missed. This bug occurs on both 3.1.1.1 and 3.1.2 prior to upgrading I used 2.2.32 and never experienced this problem |

#3748 | New version alerts | Feature request | normal | FileZilla Client | rejected
Description |
Usually, when I receive the new version alerts I don't want to install them immediately. For example, I use Filezilla when I access a client site in order to download a file to their server, I often haven't been on their for a month, I want to do this process as quickly as possible, and nearly everytime there is a new version alert waiting. Can you just issue the new version alerts on start-up yearly? And keep the new version text in the toolbar for anyone who wants to download the new version immediately? I have no issues with the software and so none of the time I have taken to update my 30-40 clients with the latest version has had any improvements. I know I can say no to the alert, but for me, I feel its too intruding. Otherwise, great job all round. Regards Andy |

#3750 | Will not download updates on my laptop | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client | fixed
Description |
I have a version, the latest on my desktop that updated ok. My laptop, I get the message that says update available. I click on it, with the normal save etc., but it just sits there. Nothing downloads. I get around it by downloading the latest version from your web site and install it, but it will not update when I get the notice, I have no idea what is wrong. This was the last 2 updates, always worked previously. Updates work just fine on my desktop and I running Vista. On my laptop, I am running XP. |

#3751 | Queue sorting differences between recursive and direct downloads | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client | rejected
Description |
Please do not misunderstand: this is not a repeated "inverse queue" bug; rather an inconsistency wich (at least for me and many people i know) almost everytime creates time-consuming work of priority rescheduling: If I manually create a local directory and download the _contents_ of a remote directory into it, they are perfectly in alphabetical order in the queue. If I directly download the remote folder, the contained files are being downloaded in inverse order compared to the above method. This is particularily neccesary for sequentially numbered image strips, sounds, etc. |

#3752 | Timestamps not fully preserved | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client | rejected
Description |
Hello, When setting the option "Preserve timestamps of transferred files", it is incorrectly preserving the modified timestamp by leaving off the seconds information (they are all 00 after transferring). This causes a problem with our file synchronization software making it think that every file has been modified from the original. We are using Filezilla client version 3.1.2 and Filezilla server version 0.9.27. Please let me know if I need to provide a sample log. Thanks so much for your help! Sincerely, Jason |

#3754 | Too much files selected when using the shift key | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client | fixed
Description |
I wanted to delete all files in a folder beginning with "H", so I typed "H" to jump to the first file. The file was highlighted, so I didnt't click on it explicitly. Then I scrolled to the end of my desired selection and clicked the last file while pressing the shift-key. All files beginning with "H" were selected ... so I thought, but actually ALL FILES from the top of the (ascending by names sorted) filelist were selected, including all folders, i.e. much more files have been deleted, because this accidently hadn't come to my attention. This bug seems to exist since Version 3.x of the FileZilla-Client, in 2.2.32 selecting multiple files works correctly. |

#3766 | FTP Client has problems to list directories on VSFTPD Server | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client | rejected
Description |
I have a VSFTPD Server on Linux, configurated to allow FTPES connections only (Explicit TLS), through port 990. The newer versions of FileZilla Client (since 3.0.11.1) can connect to the server, but then, occurs a fail when the client tries to list the directories in the server. It shows a message saying that it "could not read from transfer socket: ECONNABORTED - Connection aborted". And then, it shows another message: "failed on recover listing of directories from server". I'm using the version 3.0.11, because it is the last version released in wich I can get effectively a connection to the server. Please understand: the versions 3.0.11 and earlier can connect successfully to the server. |

#3772 | Local copies account for remote path (i.e. /index.php is not considered the same as /about/index.php) | Feature request | normal | FileZilla Client | fixed
Description |
The following dialog appears when I move from editing one "index.php" to another: Selected file already being edited The selected file is already being edited: index.php Action to perform:
OK / Cancel I use "index.php" across multiple directories so that my pages have clean URLs (i.e. domain.com/about/ instead of domain.com/about.php). It would be very helpful if Filezilla could take the server path into account while editing files. Alternatively, I would be satisfied if there was simply an option to remember the chosen action. In my case, the current implementation acts as a hindrance rather than a feature. It's a good idea -- it could just use a little refinement. |

#3773 | Manage FileZilla User Accounts using PHP | Feature request | normal | FileZilla Server | worksforme
Description |
Hello, I am Subhasish Nag, an IT Professional with having 4 years 9 months experience in PHP, ASP.Net and many more. Right now I am a Project Manager of a company. In our company we have our solely dedicated Windows 2003 server where I have installed FileZilla Server version and managing the ftp section. I have the Remote Desktop Connection by which I can log in into the server and can add/edit/delete the username and password with accessing directories and permissions. It is very much tough to manage the users by this way. Actually as I know PHP programming very well, so it will be better if you can enable the software to use the internal feature via COM. Using PHP, I want to call the internal functions via COM. So, I can see the users and password via PHP and add/modify/delete those users and do everything in respect of a users functionalities. Please let me know if it possible or not? If possible or if you have already done the features, then please give the code. |

Hi there, I rebuilt my mac a few days ago and hence had to reinstall filezilla. This morning (sept. 16) I got an update notice from Apple that system updates are available and I installed them. I am currently running version 10.5.5 of os x on an iMac with a 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor. I later went to the filezilla web site and downloaded the intel mac version of the software: FileZilla_3.1.2_i686-apple-darwin9.app.tar.bz2 (Intel) I uncompressed the downloaded file and dragged the program into the applications folder. upon launching the filezilla logo briefly appeared in the task bar and then as the dialog box so eloquently puts it " The application Filezilla quit unexpectedly". #3776 | Download of file resumes after completed to download more than 100% | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client | rejected
Description |
I have a Windows 2003 FTP server that I connect to and download files from on a regular basis. Recently when I download compressed files (zip, 7z, etc) with FileZilla it downloads more than 100%. The process is as follows
Here is a snippet from the FTP log: Status: Starting download of /sanderson/cdrive/StorageViz/StorageVizCache_EYECATCHERWS2_200808150010.zip Command: CWD /sanderson/cdrive/StorageViz Response: 250 CWD command successful. Command: TYPE I Response: 200 Type set to I. Command: PASV Response: 227 Entering Passive Mode (208,201,252,30,19,151). Command: REST 52663998 Response: 350 Restarting at 52663998. Command: RETR StorageVizCache_EYECATCHERWS2_200808150010.zip If you notice the "restarting" line -- that byte count is the actual file size of the completed download. Note: I have tried with with a client of Windows XP and Vista |

#3777 | Directory Comparsion, Filesize Mode | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client | outdated
Description |
When pressing the DC button, the file list disorders and some files are just displayed as a white space, no description, filesize or anything, just a clickable blank line. Guess this is not so important, but it's a bug and it must be reported to the authorities XD |

I wuld be happy if you make a window at startup with saved sessions. In this windows the client can create folders and save sessions in it like at the startup of winSCP FTP program. Much appreciated :) Kindly regards, mediamedia |

#3779 | FileZilla Client 3.1.2 crashes after connecting to FTP server | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client | rejected
Description |
FileZilla Client 3.1.2 segfaults shortly after it has connected to an FTP server. #3782 | Computer restarts while uploading files | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client | rejected
Description |
Using FileZilla 3.1.2 While uploading files to the xbox on the local network, the computer restarts. This error first occurred with version 3.1.1.1 and since then, it has been updated and the problem persists. It did give an error message of being unable to read the filezilla.xml file, so after checking this and seeing that it was empty, with a file size of 7.41kb, I deleted it and reinstalled. The private data has been cleared, all previous settings have been cleared. Any help would be appreciated. Failing this, I will use another FTP client, which is something I would rather avoid. Thanks. |

#3783 | Site Manager dialog button has bad label ("Discard") | Bug report | low | FileZilla Client | fixed
Description |
The site manager has a button labeled "Discard" for what might usually be labeled "Cancel." The different wording is not necessary, and can create confusion. For example (being the idiot that I am?), I first assumed that the "Discard" button would... discard the information on the current screen. That is, I thought the information would be deleted instead of the changes (if applicable) canceled. |

#3785 | Rename file sometimes makes filelist items unselectable | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client | rejected
Description |
Maybe once in every 5-10 times I rename a file, I will lose the ability to select/highlight, etc. the files in either the remote or local pane. At this point, Filezilla becomes unusable. The only way to recover is to relaunch the program or to disconnect and then reconnect. This issue may have started with Filezilla version 3. |

#3786 | Browsing to the local "Desktop" folder (shortcut) makes the UI hang for a few seconds | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client | outdated
Description |
VERSION INFO: Filezilla client 3.1.2 and some recent earlier versions. PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When clicking on the Desktop folder shortcut appearing in the Local site's tree view (remote site is Linux, so I could not test if behavior is the same on Remote site's tree view), the hard disk of my computer starts spinning like crazy for about 10 to 15 seconds before control is given back to the UI. This behavior might be related to a fix / enhancement implemented to solve tickets 1088 and 1089. |

I hope I have this in the right place. In reading they few messages I don't see any response from the developer side of things. This request has been here 5 YEARS!! Why is this? I have 3.1.3 and nothing to make sounds from any action. We should have a choice to play a sound for any action. Anyway, would it be posiable to have this created for FZ. Here is an apparent bug. When logging into a Chinese FTP site and entering a folder named in Chinese characters, the "Remote site" does not display the path normally. In more detail, it always does not recognize Chinese characters, and thus shows some confusing ones. I believe that this software will be more attractive if this bug is fixed. |

#3796 | FileZilla tries to read floppy drive on startup | Bug report | low | FileZilla Client | rejected

This is more an annoyance than a bug, but I'd imagine it would affect anyone who has a floppy drive installed on their PC. It seems that all versions >= 3.0 try to read my floppy drive on startup. The application does not respond until the drive light goes off. This obviously makes the application slow to load, every time. |

I have searched the forum and the answer given is not answering the question. It's just an added extra step to setup for each item in the queue. Please don't label this a duplicate. This deserves a real answer. The Request, Please make an option under settings for standard sounds for actions. Not something that needs to be setup each time. In other words, Please make away for the users to apply a sound to Connect, Disconnect, transfers failed & success etc.... The sound option is a Very Useful item. Especially when many things are setup in automation and by hearing a Error sound you know something needs attending. The attachment is for the visual understanding ONLY |

#3800 | Make display of local file browser optional | Feature request | normal | FileZilla Client | duplicate
Description |
Since FileZilla supports upload and download with drag-and-drop (at least on Windows), the display of the local file/directory browser is not really necessary since the user can just drag from an explorer window. FileZilla already supports toggling the display of the local and remote site, so I think it would be natural to have an option to switch off the display for the local site altogether. This effect could also be achieved by allowing the user to change the width of the local site widget to zero. Currently it seems to have a minimum width of about 30 pixels. |

#3804 | Reconnect is not enabled. | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client | rejected
Description |
Running Windows XP SP3 on HP m7250n media center desktop. Using Dialup on internal modem. Attempting to transmit 15-17 meg files and receiving server times out after 15 minutes of perceived no activity, including sending data to it. On previous version I was able to restart the download by clicking on the "R" at the top of the screen. With this version, the "R" remains grayed out all the time, and clicking it has no effect. I have had to resort to clicking "Process Queue" twice to get the program to reconnect to the receiving server and continue the transfer. Any other action results in a restart of sending the file, and overwriting what was there before rather than appending the new material to the end of the all ready received file. Here is a listing of the message log down to the first time I had to re-connect to the server. Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message... The upgrade from Filezilla FTP Client 3.1.2 to 3.1.3 was given an error (can't write c:\programmi\...\filezilla.exe). #3808 | Bad upload resume | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client | wontfix
Description |
I use a wireless connection which loses some packets so TCP connections are lost quite often. I've installed FileZilla especially for uploading large files because I've heard it resumes uploads correctly. But sometimes it obviously doesn't. I uploaded a 31MB zip file and found out that the file on the server is a bit larger than the original file. I've retried several times and the resulting file size is each time different but always a bit greater than the correct one. The original file size is 32735774 B and the resulting file size is e.g. (in the logged case) 32763514 B. I uploaded also a 13MB file and this was uploaded incorrectly for the first time and correctly for the second time so FZ resumes uploads incorrectly only sometimes. Version: 3.1.3 (2008-09-21) |

#3822 | Time outs on (offline) local folders | Bug report | low | FileZilla Client | rejected
Description |
Explorer shows my R:\ "drive" and subdirs without delay, even though some dirs point to offline resources. Selecting such a dir however makes Win XP Pro hang for about half a minute. So I make sure I stay clear of those. However, When FileZilla's shows R:\ (on startup) it freezes the system right away. The dirs are probably queried in a way that needs them to be opened. Can querying the local folder be done without opening the subfolders? I realize that having the offline dirs removed would solve my problem - but I'm not authorized. I also realize that ticket 3003 (feature req. prio: low) would solve the problem. But asynchronous folder display is very hard indeed. It was the one promise that made me try Vista. No luck, even the MS wizs can't do it, apparently. |

Description |
I was thinking maybe some enhancements in the navigation/bookmarks can be implemented for filezilla since I have a variety ftp sites/local_folders to maintain... If implementing bookmarks is too difficult and time consuming (been using filezilla for quite some time now) I'm hoping that asking for implementing filezilla to jump to folders indicated by .lnk files may be a slight hint of consideration for the average user? I think this is definitely something that many folks would be looking for in an ftp client.. hoping it isnt too hard to implement.. Thanks for any feedback.. |

#3825 | Mismatching of files on upload & download | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client | outdated
Description |
Hi there, I've noticed suddenly that when i upload or download multiple files at the same time, Filezilla appears to be transposing and mismatching files. Here's a site where this occurs - i've noticed that it's swapping the content of one file for another file, but at the same time the file name stays the same...just the content within the file/s is different. http://www.newton-truong.com/test/index.html This doesn't occur when i transfer only one file at a time - http://www.newton-truong.com/ti/index.html I've tested it on other servers and the same thing happens. It does appear to mismatch the same files on the same server each time. However, on a different server, it mismatches different files. Cheers, Pete. |

#3832 | Filezilla Mac Unreliable | Bug report | critical | FileZilla Client | rejected
Description |
Hi, I'm often using Filezilla because it's fast, and I have Mac Leopard 10.5.5. When I start uploading files (joomla installation) with 8 connections (my occurance this time) I was finished and tried to install Joomla and it said files not found... I had this issue a couple of times before, but now i was in the moment. It's like Filezilla is skipping files, because when i uploaded the whole stuff the 2nd time and clicked the skip for the uploads that exist, it uploaded a couple of files that were forgotten the first time and no error is reported. This is really weird, how and why this happens. There is also no error visible in the log file, maybe filezilla skips files on mac? The new version (3.1.3.1) is doing a lot better already in performance. I had multiple occurances of this bug in older versions too. Thanks, Patrick ps, i don't think i've had this ever happen on filezilla PC. |
