#12719 | FileZilla wlan connect issue FilaZilla will freeze and wont connect uploads or server again | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client | fixed
Description |
Hello im using hp laptop and my phone as wlan internet provider. SOmetimes my hp will lose WLAN connection and retries it. In this behaviour Filezilla: Komento: cd "/home/dh_g2amwh/tfj.iware.fi/public/packages/ext-theme-classic/resources/images/tree" Virhe: Tiedostonsiirto epäonnistui "File transfer failed" Tila: Yhdistetään kohteeseen jerroi.dreamhosters.com... "Try again" Virhe: Yhteyden aikakatkaistu, koska yhteys oli toimimattomana 20 sekuntia "Connection waited 20s" Virhe: Tiedostonsiirto epäonnistui "File transfer failed" So FileZilla will sometimes freeze on this. Now filezilla wont progress anything, wont connect new connection to new tab onlything that helps is to restart Filezilla and start upload of 15k files again. FileZilla wont keep connection alive somehow and results frozen behaviour. Unstead of try connect you could use somekind of is internet alive loop that waits connection to internet then tries continue. But the connector will break filezilla as it is for now. And very fustruation as I have 15k files for my app and if it breaks somewhere in 5k to go I have to try send 15k again just to filezilla check if to overjump files wich will take a lot of time again. And since FileZilla dont have filetransfer saving or current session saver script it wont remember filetransfer on restart which is a bit annoying. |

Hi I've setup my own server so i can access all my music and movies from external networks. However upon acessing my movies wich are in the m4v file format FileZilla dosent recognize the format. The movies are only labelled as "file" in the filetype section, nothing about m4v. When I try downloading it, I recieve the error "Could not open (filename) for writing", desbite the permissions are set to 777. It works for any other filetype within the same folder, just not m4v extenstions. Any clue why its not working for me? |

#9747 | FileZilla's page on SourceForge serving viruses/malware | Other | normal | FileZilla Client | rejected
Description |
SourceForge has been serving virsues up on the auto-download links and has infected machines here, I still see it offering 724K instead of the 5+MB installer for FileZilla, you may want to look into this as people are trying to download your client and ending up with malware and viruses. One must click the "direct" download link like when the 5 second countdown didn't work. I e-mailed SourceForge a month ago and still I believe this problem remains. It also happened for Greenshot, and may happen for many sourceforge links. Please investigate. |

#6533 | FileZilla-Server endangers SSL-connections! | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Server | wontfix
Description |
After creation of the Security Certificate via FileZilla-Server v0.9.37 beta keeps PRiVATE_KEY into the Security_Certificate! It is wrong and is inadmissible! As a result of creation of the Security Certificate 2 files should be created:
(!) Inside of the Security Certificate should NOT be located PRiVATE KEY! SECURiTY CERTiFiCATE is intended for free distribution in Internet and should NOT contain confidential data! PRiVATE KEY should be stored only at the Owner of the Security Certificate. This dangerous mistake is necessary for correcting URGENTLY since FileZilla Server subjects to the big risk of many users, exchanging confidential data. I have attached the sample of the CERTIFICATE created by means of FileZilla-Server v0.9.37 beta (inside of a file contains RSA_PRiVATE_KEY). P.S. As a whole I express gratitude for very useful and convenient program FileZilla FTP Client! |

#1234 | FileZilla.xml stored in incorrect location (2.2.29) | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
The configuration file "FileZilla.xml" is stored in an incorrect location. Program data files should be stored in the location returned when using the flags "CSIDL_LOCAL_APPDATA", "CSIDL_COMMON_APPDATA", etc. It must not be stored in the same directory as the application itself. This is particularly important for newer operating systems (ie, Windows NT onwards) that have the basics of user security enabled, it's particulaly important for correct Windows Vista operation. This is the case in version 2.2.23. I have not checked if this bug is still in place in the new version 3. |

#1816 | FileZilla: Server(!) | Feature request | normal | FileZilla Server | outdated
Description |
I've got a small home network and on my gateway filezilla server running (just the server no interface). To add users to the server I log in via network from my working mashine: Here are my suggestions: 1) If I add a User from remote and try to share a folder of my server the browseable list only shows my local drives wich are not accesable from the internet. Instead it should show the drive structure of my server 2) An upload and download progress bar would be usefull to monitor server activity easily (maybe for each user separate) 3) A free disk space would be nice to monitor the free disk space on the remote mashine 4) It would be nice if the Server log history (only the one which is at the moment shown in the interface) would be stored in the server so that after a reconnect (at least the last 100 lines) could be seen 5) Change the structure of the Log file (as option?) So that only One Line Per Login one per attemp and one each file transfair is loged 6) Maybe add a logoff message and a server full message (like the welcome one) to the settings Hope you read my suggestions and like them :) |

Moved FileZilla.app to the Applications directory, replacing my existing version of FileZilla, 3.27. Tried to open FileZilla 3.29 app by double-clicking on it in Finder. Immediately get this message from Finder: "The application “FileZilla.app” can’t be opened." Restored my 3.27 version from TimeMachine; works fine. Repeated the above steps; same result. Unpacked the app again onto the Desktop. Same result. #2675 | Filename collation order FZclient 2 and 3-beta | Feature request | low | FileZilla Client | duplicate
Description |
{If I could make this a low priority report I would !} This is a borderline UI-bug or New feature request depending how you view it. FZ3b11 With many retries over a week, I have just completed a 76 part download where the names are of the form <filename>.0 <filename>.1 <filename>.2 : <filename>.10 <filename>.11 : <filename>.20 <filename>.21 : I was happy to live with the awkward and very frustrating to use collation order in FZ (and maybe all FTP servers - maybe its a UNIX standard ?) and cursed the split program for not using .nnn format. Under FZ, that order shows as: <filename>.0 <filename>.1 <filename>.10 <filename>.11 : <filename>.19 <filename>.2 <filename>.20 <filename>.21 etc. HOWEVER when I got to check for completeness under M$oftWinXP, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the more user-friendly order [0,1,2,3...19,20,21, ...] was displayed. Could FZ directory listing panels use that "friendly-order" (by option if neccessary) or is there some FTP-standard constraint ? Arguably, if the application runs under Windows it should show a consistent collation order with its host. (Clearly there are issues with trailing space in a file name, but if such a filename can be created (not by standard Windows dialogues) it would have to have been made programmatically - long time since I tried that sort of thing.) #1149 | Filenames and content are switched | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
This is very serious! The contents of files are getting mixed up. I have downloaded my web site several times and the contents of some of the files are interchanged. They are files that are near each other in the directory, so they were probably downloaded close to each other. I have erased the directory on my PC and re-downloaded the files several times and it appears to be different files each time. Some History: I previously had an older version of Filezilla (can't remember which one, but about 6 months old) and upgraded to 2.2.26a yesterday. That is when the problem started. Thanks for looking into this ... Paul |

#4697 | Filenames including a : get stored as alternate data streams | Bug report | critical | FileZilla Server | duplicate
Description |
When uploading from a client that supports a : in the filename, the FileZilla will accept the file for download, but will store anything after the : as an alternate data stream. I'm not sure if this is a bug, or a feature. It might be good to include a configuration toggle to disable this behaviour (i.e. send an invalid filename message to the sender) by default, as I found it very surprising. Test case: From a BSD, Mac or Linux box, create a file named "a:b". Upload the file. The server will show a 0 byte file named a, with an alternate data stream b with all of the content. |

#11519 | Files > 500GB have lock and then won't resume | Bug report | high | FileZilla Server | rejected
Description |
When transferring files of large sizes the server appears to lock the file out and then won't allow you to write to it again. No AV is install on the system and everything is allowed through the firewall. It will resume normally but after a point it stops resuming and gives a "550 Writing to file failed" in the log. Permissions to the file and everything are okay and deleting the file and starting again gets it uploading again but it inevitably fails. Currently attempting to change block size to see if this helps with the problem. The file in question is almost a terabyte in size. |

Filezilla said that it updated successfully and the last modified date is today. Then I went to the website to be sure the changes were reflected, and there were NOT! I checked the source code on the website and it shows that it is still the old file. I am not sure if this is a server or client problem. All I know is that the new file, with today's date shows up in the public_html area in FileZilla on my computer. #3392 | Files are reassigned to incorrect folders during transfer | Bug report | normal | Other
Description |
Filezilla Server 0.9.25 beta Filezilla Client 3.0.5.2 Build date 2008-01-11 (Windows) I am attempting to transfer a large number of folders and files (about 3000 files) and I am seeing a number of issues. This bug is for an issue where the files are being incorrectly assigned to the wrong target (local) folders. I will attempt to attach a screenshot of the Filezilla client queue, where midway through the queue of files for Lucene, the target folder changes to "Magical JellyBean MS key finder", which is the next directory in the queue. So Lucene files are copied into the Magical Jellybean directory. (I also confirmed that this actually does happen.) The files were queued by dragging the parent directory, which contains both Lucene and Magical Jellybean There isn't a noticeable pattern to when the directory change occurs. It has happened on multiple occasions of different folders. |

Description |
When downloading the complete content of one of my websites (so multiple dirs and files selected at once) I discovered that Filezilla is mixing up the files: It is storing file content of certain files with the names of other files. It happens both for html files as for images. I noticed this behavior when downloading the website over 4 parallel connections. Limiting the number of connections to 1 (disabling the option to use multiple connections for file transfer) did prevent this error to happen. #4528 | Files on Linux servers with names containing symbols not allowed in Windows file names don't download correctly. | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client | duplicate
Description |
While downloading files from my Linux based CubeRevo STB/PVR I discovered that when file names contain symbols not allowed in Windows file names (colon, for example), resulting file name gets truncated from the first symbol (including extension) and file itself is 0 bytes and therefore unusable. So "FORMULA 1: The Factory.trp" gets downloaded as "FORMULA 1" and is 0 bytes in size. After renaming file on the server, everything works, but obviously it's not the option when you don't happen to have sufficient privileges. Regards, RR |

Automatically translated. I wanted to copy all project files from the server to the local hard disk by copying the parent folder (public_html). It worked fine, except for the data which were labeled with "German" umlauts in the file or folder name. See enclosed screenshot. Interestingly enough, there are no problems when copying, with direct dragging with the mouse from the web server to the hard disk or vice versa. Also the command "Download", after clicking with the right mouse button on the desired file, works the same way without problems. Otherwise I would like to give your team an unbelievable big thank you for this great application FileZilla. Files or folders with umlauts (like ä, ö, ü) in the name are not copied. #3422 | Files transfered/duplicated to wrong directories | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client
Description |
This is a copy of the message I left on the filezilla forums about the issue. I can't explain this one. About 45 of 55 folders were duplicated into a folder locally when copying files to my machine. Here is the situation... I have a whole bunch of photo files I was copying from my ftp server on the internet to my windows machine. Most have .jpg extensions, but some didn't. There are about 55 folders with about 5+ gigs in there. I copied the files to my local machine by doing ctrl-a (select all) on the server and dragged them to the queue. I then went into the queue and removed the recycle bin, trash files, logs, etc files and folders that I didn't want copied to the local machine. After the transfer I checked that all the files transfered correctly by going from one directory to another and using the directory comparison. First thing I noticed was that all of the photo files without file extensions were the wrong size (larger locally). I figured out that they had all been transfered using Ascii instead of binary... this is no big deal... that was my fault. I didn't realize Filezilla would default to ascii instead of binary on files without extensions. I would think it should default to binary, but that isn't the reason I'm writing. Starting in the 12th folder(not counting sub folders) and continuing through the rest of the folders I started seeing files duplicated from the previous folder in the current folder. So the 12th folder contains the 12th folder files plus files from the 11th folder. The 13th folder contains files from the 13th folder plus files from the 12th folder, but not the 11th folder. The 14th folder contain files from the 14th folder and duplicates from the the 13th folder, but not the 11th or 12th folder. This was only locally and not on the server, so filezilla must have done it when processing or creating the queue. If what I am writing isn't clear, I'll try to diagram the files structure of my local machine 11th folder --11file1.jpg --11file2.jpg --11file3.jpg 12th folder --11file1.jpg --11file2.jpg --11file3.jpg --12xxxx.jpg --12yyyy.jpg --12zzzz.jpg 13th folder --12xxxx.jpg --12yyyy.jpg --12zzzz.jpg --13q1111.jpg --13q2222.jpg --13q3333.jpg I now have to go through and manually delete a whole bunch of files because they don't belong where they are, but I assume it also meant that filezilla downloaded almost twice as many files as it should have. BTW I'm using filezilla 3.0.7.1 on a Windows 2000 Pro Service pack 4 machine. |

"C:\program files\filezilla\filezilla.exe "This application has requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way. "Please contact the application's support team for more information. "OK" Like before, reinstalling Filezilla 2.2.22 solves the problem. Best regards, Judy Tanner P.S.: I note with interest that my three tries to post

#3775 | Filezilla 3.1.2 os x Intel (10.5.5) crashes on launch | Bug report | blocker | FileZilla Client | outdated
Description |
Hi there, I rebuilt my mac a few days ago and hence had to reinstall filezilla. This morning (sept. 16) I got an update notice from Apple that system updates are available and I installed them. I am currently running version 10.5.5 of os x on an iMac with a 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor. I later went to the filezilla web site and downloaded the intel mac version of the software: FileZilla_3.1.2_i686-apple-darwin9.app.tar.bz2 (Intel) I uncompressed the downloaded file and dragged the program into the applications folder. upon launching the filezilla logo briefly appeared in the task bar and then as the dialog box so eloquently puts it " The application Filezilla quit unexpectedly". The following information was generated by problem reporter: Process: filezilla [430] Path: /Applications/FileZilla.app/Contents/MacOS/filezilla Identifier: de.filezilla Version: 3.1.2 (3.1.2) Code Type: X86 (Native) Parent Process: launchd [102] Date/Time: 2008-09-16 16:03:41.131 +0300 OS Version: Mac OS X 10.5.5 (9F33) Report Version: 6 Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGBUS) Exception Codes: KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE at 0x0000000000000000 Crashed Thread: 0 Thread 0 Crashed: 0 libSystem.B.dylib 0x96dc8150 strlen + 16 1 de.filezilla 0x002b3562 wxIcon::LoadFile(wxString const&, wxBitmapType, int, int) + 786 2 de.filezilla 0x002b3b6b wxIcon::wxIcon(wxString const&, int, int, int) + 75 3 de.filezilla 0x000e0ef7 CThemeProvider::GetIconBundle(wxString const&, wxString const&) + 647 4 de.filezilla 0x000655ee CMainFrame::CMainFrame() + 718 5 de.filezilla 0x00025e2d CFileZillaApp::OnInit() + 1821 6 de.filezilla 0x00026191 wxAppConsole::CallOnInit() + 17 7 de.filezilla 0x003b3e5b wxEntry(int&, wchar_t) + 59 8 de.filezilla 0x00021a08 main + 24 9 de.filezilla 0x00002d16 start + 54 Thread 0 crashed with X86 Thread State (32-bit):

#11205 | Filezilla 3.25.0 client crashes constantly on OSX 10.12.3 | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client | fixed
Description |
I upgraded to the latest version of filezilla on all my mac computers and this version is horrible. All of my macs are updated to osx 10.12.3 and on every computer the new build crashes constantly. Sometimes I open it and it crashes right away Other times I am able to connect to my server, then when I go to load a directory it crashes almost every time. This is the most common issue I am experiencing. I can't load folders for long or it will crash. The odd time it works to browse and download, but sometimes when the downloads are complete, they freeze at 100% and the download hangs there and won't complete. I have a screenshot of this issue. Here is a crash log from when I try to load a directory Process: filezilla [11136] Path: /Applications/FileZilla.app/Contents/MacOS/filezilla Identifier: de.filezilla Version: 3.25.0 (3.25.0) Code Type: X86-64 (Native) Parent Process: ??? Description |
Hello. I installed Debian 9 only to test if Filezilla 3.28 works. It does NOT work. It still shows only a list of shared library files. Could someone fix Filezilla or provide better solution for Filezilla usage, etc.? Thank you. <removed privacy nightmare> |
