#12505 | Erro Filezilla Crashando ao arrastar arquivo | normal | invalid | 3 years | 3 years
Description |
Bom dia, tudo bem? |

Worse, when I make that change and run FileZilla, the number reverts to "2". |

#12599 | Incomplete server directory listing | normal | invalid | 2 years | 2 years
Description |
I can see them all fine by logging in to the server via Putty, and I can't see any variation in the permissions that would prevent the listing. Curiously, of the directory and files that are listed, only one of them actually exists on the server, all the ones from the synchronized client listing (which is accurate) also appear in the server listing (those include the one listed that actually exists on the server), and then there are two listed in the server listing that do not exist on either side. This seems like a quite serious bug, disabling FileZilla when the bug is triggered. I have no idea what triggers it, not all directory listings seem as incomplete as this one I was trying to access today. FileZilla Client Version: 3.56.2 Build information:

#3808 | Bad upload resume | normal | wontfix | 16 years | 10 years
Description |
I use a wireless connection which loses some packets so TCP connections are lost quite often. I've installed FileZilla especially for uploading large files because I've heard it resumes uploads correctly. But sometimes it obviously doesn't. I uploaded a 31MB zip file and found out that the file on the server is a bit larger than the original file. I've retried several times and the resulting file size is each time different but always a bit greater than the correct one. The original file size is 32735774 B and the resulting file size is e.g. (in the logged case) 32763514 B. I uploaded also a 13MB file and this was uploaded incorrectly for the first time and correctly for the second time so FZ resumes uploads incorrectly only sometimes. Version: 3.1.3 (2008-09-21) |

In all versions of the FileZilla Client source after 3.0.4 (including the latest at the time of writing, 3.1.6), I have been unable to link the filezilla client binary using HP's C++ compiler in HP-UX 11.X. I have been compiling with "aCC -AA -O -D_HPUX_SOURCE -D_XOPEN_EXTENDED_SOURCE" and using wxGTK 2.8.9 - here is the link error: /usr/ccs/bin/ld: Unsatisfied symbols:
Sadly, I have been able to work out why the link fails (removing optimisation doesn't help, before you ask). |

#4140 | Drag and drop in server window causes move instead of copy | normal | wontfix | 15 years | 15 years
Description |
When you drag and drop a file or folder(s) on the right side (Server window) from one directory to another, Windows shows a little plus sign next to the mouse arrow -> user expects that the file(s) will be copied. Instead, after releasing the mouse button, a mv command is carried out. The same behaviour occurs when Shift or Ctrl-key is pressed additionally. Files are always moved, never copied. |

#4174 | Site Manager dropdown won't scroll on monitor with lower resolution than main monitor | normal | wontfix | 15 years | 15 years
Description |
Simple bug really, possibly a limitation of wxWidgets. I've noticed that the dropdown scrolls on my main monitor if the list becomes too large for the screen's height, but I have a second monitor with a lower resolution and the dropdown doesn't detect this lower resolution and compensate with the scroller. If the list isn't big enough to scroll on my main monitor but it is too big for my secondary monitor then the list displays without any scrollers and goes off the bottom of the screen with no way to access the bottom items except by mousing over the bottom or top displayed items and then using the arrow keys and enter to select off-screen ones. If the list it too big for my main monitor and thus too big for my smaller one, then the scrollers appear, but as before, the bottom scroller is off the screen, and I still have the problem. I realise that this is something of an edge case, and I can temporarily fix it by reorganising my site manager to have fewer items in each folder, but I just thought I'd put this out there as it's definitely a bug (although as I said, probably a limitation of wxWidgets). |

Hello, FileZilla Team (I'm from Switzerland, so my english may be bad) If I connect with FileZila to 213.251.167.117:21 (public server) He gives me a List of four Directories, I can only access the Directory named "1" with clicking on it, my network capture toool told me, that the inaccessible Dirs contain some spaces at the Beginning or the end of the name (and one subdirectory is only named with a space, but by entering / / into the ), by entering the name manually I can access the Directory and the Files in it. As an attachment, I give you the result from my network capturing tool, in the Window you can see the Hex and ASCII output, on the Bottom, again, ASCII (but with line breaks like in Notepad) Hope this Information helps to solve this issue |

After successful login to a z/VM 530 (or higher level) FTP server, no directory listing is obtained. This error occurs regardless of the list format setting of the /VM host (which can be either 'VM' or 'UNIX') or of the client Site Manager "Advanced" tab 'Servertype' setting (both 'z/VM' or 'default (Autodetect)' yield the same failure. No 'Default remote directory' is specified with the Site Manager 'Advanced' box. After having specified such default remote directory as '/tcpmnt04.191', the described error does not occur (and, the leading slash (/) is critical in this regard; in fact, specifying a single '/' as the remote default directory appears to alleviate this problem. The leading '/' is not part of the z/VM file system structure, and seemingly should not be required to be specified as a remote directory default, especially for the case when 'z/VM' (specifically) is designated as the (remote) servertype. |

#4809 | SFTP Connection Erratic (Network error: Software caused connection abort) | normal | wontfix | 15 years | 10 years
Description |
Having consistent problems connecting to a host via SFTP using FileZilla. Have had no problems when connecting with the latest PuTTY psftp command line, Core FTP LE, and Ultra Edit (yes, its built-in FTP client). Most of the time FileZilla won't establish a connection at all; I've managed to connect on occasion by simply hammering the remote server with repeated connection attempts and no timeout. I have tried toggling different servertypes, active/passive, etc. It seems to get hung up trying to execute the key exchange. I've found several references to a similar issue but there was no satisfactory resolution contained therein. I'm not running any firewall software and our hardware router and firewall logs show nothing unusual. Basically, why would FileZilla fail repeatedly only to finally connect on some random attempt? Here is the full debug log of the connection attempts showing only the last one to be successful. Please let me know if I can provide any further information. 14:54:02 Trace: CControlSocket::DoClose(64) 14:54:02 Trace: CControlSocket::DoClose(64) 14:54:02 Status: Connecting to X.X.X.X... 14:54:02 #4827 | FileZilla client does not support SSL 3 or TLS 1.0 | normal | wontfix | 15 years | 10 years
Description |
FileZilla client 3.2.7.1 sends a client hello specifying support for TLS 1.1 only. This means that servers that only support TLS 1.0 cannot negotiate a connection. Neither SSL 3.0 or TLS 1.0 is considered seriously insecure at this time, and they are much more widely deployed than TLS 1.1, so they should be supported. Details: From the TLS 1.1 RFC: Appendix E. Backward Compatibility with SSL

#4899 | Site Manage Drop Down | low | wontfix | 15 years | 15 years
Description |
I consider this a bug, but you may consider it a 'feature request'. Here is the break down of what happens. I have many many sites saved in the Site Manage, when I click the down arrow on the Site Manage icon, I have a list so long that I can't see any of the sites past 't' in the list. There is an arrow on the top of the list, but not on on the bottom to scroll down the list. For sites below 't' I have to go into the site manager and click connect. Not a huge deal, but I would LOVE to see a version update that included this feature/bug fix. As it would make my life a tad bit easier. |

#4909 | update to 3.2.8.1 doesn't clean up hot-key shortcut | normal | wontfix | 15 years | 15 years
Description |
Small bug, not devastating, but perhaps easy to fix -- I use a desktop icon and hot-key of Ctrl-Shift-Z (I know, odd choice, but I doubt the choice matters for this bug) to start FileZilla. When I updated to 3.2.8.1, the installer over-wrote my desktop icon with a new, clean one. The new icon lacks the hot-key setting. That's fine, I don't mind setting it up again. But the old hot-key setting is STILL ACTIVE -- sitting in the registry I guess. So there is no easy way to get rid of it. I uninstalled FileZilla altogether, then re-installed. Hot-key remained. It is possible to open the icon, then Properties, then Shortcut: and type a new shortcut hot-key combination. Then I have two of them. If I try to enter ctrl-sh-Z at that point (for documentation, or because of naively trying to re-establish the hot key setting), then instead, instances of FileZilla keep opening. |

#5234 | Wrong mouse pointer on drag&drop with serverside folders (move vs. copy) | normal | wontfix | 14 years | 14 years
Description |
Dragging and dropping folders on server from one location to another (but still on the same server) is a "move" operation. But the mouse pointer while dragging is adorned with the "[+]" indicator, suggesting that a copy operation will happen on drop. This is clearly misleading. Therefore: On drag&drop, the mouse pointer should reflect correctly the type of file operation that is going to be performed on drop: "copy" (mouse pointer with [+] indicator) or "move" (mouse pointer with [<box>] indicator). |

#8540 | Filezilla Client accesses redirected directories instead of real ones | normal | wontfix | 11 years | 11 years
Description |
Try to launch FileZilla Client (without "run as admin") and go to Windows\system32 folder on 64bit system (i.e. Windows 7). List your local files and try to identify aclui.dll. Note the size. Launch cmd.exe as admin and try to dir \windows\system32\aclui.dll. Compare sizes of your files. Now try to dir \windows\syswow64\aclui.dll As you can see Filezilla tells that displays data from system32 and in fact displays the content of syswow64. The application should be 64bit aware and use real folders without redirection. Look at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/aa384187(v=vs.85).aspx for additional info. |

#8595 | UTF-16 line endings get corrupted by uploading and downloading | normal | wontfix | 11 years | 11 years
Description |
I uploaded a UTF-16 text file with the following content: FF FE 48 00 65 00 6C 00 6C 00 6F 00 0D 00 0A 00 57 00 6F 00 72 00 6C 00 64 00 Note the correct BOM for UTF-16 little endian and that every second byte in the text is set to zero. After downloading it again the content changes like this: FF FE 48 00 65 00 6C 00 6C 00 6F 00 0D 00 0D 0A 00 57 00 6F 00 72 00 6C 00 64 00 FileZilla transmits the file in text mode and because of that the UTF-16 line ending chars get corrupted to 8 bit ASCII line endings. In this case only 0A 00 got corrupted to 0D 0A 00, because of Windows -> Unix -> Windows. The file is now 1 byte longer (an odd byte count for UTF-16 files is already invalid) and the content is broken. Uploading in binary mode avoids this problem, so I suggest that FileZilla detects UTF-16 using BOM or line endings in 0D 00 0A 00 format and uses binary mode for these files by default to avoid corruption. |

#9302 | Filezilla damages the binary file it transfers when the file has no extension | low | wontfix | 10 years | 10 years
Description |
I am trying to transfer the binary file from the remote server to my local directory by dragging and dropping it. The original file has size 1,855,488 bytes, the resulting file has size 1,855,392, as also reported by filezilla itself. The file is the binary SQLite database. The transfer log: Status: Starting download of /public_html/xxx/includes/xxx Command: PASV Response: 227 Entering Passive Mode (198,46,81,146,124,133) Command: RETR webcal Response: 150-Accepted data connection Response: 150 1812.0 kbytes to download Response: 226-File successfully transferred Response: 226 2.623 seconds (measured here), 0.68 Mbytes per second Status: File transfer successful, transferred 1,858,120 bytes in 3 seconds Status: Disconnected from server File is always transferred with the same discrepancy (subsequent attempts produce the same wrong version). The file in question didn't have any extension (no periods in its name). There is 'Default transfer type' option in 'Settings' which was set to 'Auto'. When I selected 'Binary' there, the discrepancy disappeared. Another, smaller, SQLite database (290,816 bytes) was transferred correctly. It had a period in its name, but no recognizable extension. So I believe that filezilla wrongfully defaults the type of file without extension to 'Ascii'. When the type of file isn't known, and 'Auto' is selected, it should default to 'Binary'. version 3.6.0.2 |

#9337 | Transfer not retried after code 530 | normal | wontfix | 10 years | 10 years
Description |
Windows, version 3.7.4.1. Imagine I attempt to transfer/upload 20 files to my FTP site (not FileZila server). My FTP server supports 10 connections. I set the transfer to support 10 connections. Sometimes, the server fails with code 530 (see log below). Bug is, when that happens, it doesn't attempt to re-try file upload. I have attached a log file. In is it the initial attempt to upload the files. Then, there are 2x more attempts to upload the files that didn't initially transfer. I understand that the retry logic is tricky. However, the minimum it should do is -- at the end of the transfer, it could show a dialog saying something like "7 of 20 files failed to transfer". Keep up the good work! Sean |

#9555 | FileZilla Closes Abruptly, If not updated | normal | wontfix | 10 years | 10 years
Description |
I am Using Windows XP SP3 & my FileZilla Client Version is 3.8.0. Today I opened my Filezilla to access my FTP Site & received an update for version 3.8.1, and I clicked 'Install New Version' The FileZilla got closed abruplty, i lost my FTP Connection and instead it showed a dialog-box saying 'Unsupported operating system Filezilla requires atleast Windows Vista and may not work correctly on your system. Do you really want to continue with the installation?' I pressed 'No', and found that FileZilla was still Closed. I understand that my OS(Windows XP) is not supported by the update, but Filezilla should not close abruptly, irrespective of whether I chose to Update it or not Update it.

#9901 | FileZilla gives erroneous failed message | normal | wontfix | 10 years | 7 years
Description |
I have a very large file -- 320+MB -- and when I upload it to our FTP Side, after about 30-45 minutes, it ALWAYS ends on the Failed Transfers list with the reason "could not start transfer." This error is (a) obviously erroneous as it just uploaded the file. I can verify this by first deleting the version on the site and then uploading a new version. When it's done uploading the new version is there; and (b) it didn't actually fail because if I download the file (which is a signed exe) it passes all integrity checks and its signature is still intact which it wouldn't be if it had failed. If you'd like to grab the file to play with it's at: http://wwww.frameforge3d.com/web_install/FrameForgePreviz35_setup.exe |

#10650 | Alphabetical order of files is not honored when queuing | normal | wontfix | 9 years | 8 years
Description |
When adding a dirtree to the download queue, filezilla does not honor the alpha order of the file names when I believe that it should or at least offer an option to do so. One can reproduce this very easily: On the server from which to download, do: mkdir test cd test for i in 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9; do touch $i; done Now connect to the server with filezilla and drag the "test" folder into the download queue and begin downloading. The order is not: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 For me, the order was: 6 1 2 4 8 5 3 9 7 |

#10689 | Filezilla IPv6 timeout on LIST | normal | wontfix | 9 years | 9 years
Description |
Hello, I am using Filezilla 3.14.1 x64 on Windows connects to my FTP server running vsftpd 3.0.2 with implicit FTPS. The connection works totally fine over IPv4, but when connecting via IPv6, Filezilla will stuck at the LIST command until timeout, while the server log does not prompt anything wrong. I switched to FlashFXP and tested with IPv6 connection and it works fine. I guess it's a bug in Filezilla. Thanks. |

#10758 | Remote Drag-Move shows (+) "copy" icon above cursor | normal | wontfix | 8 years | 6 years
Description |
On OSX, when I click and drag a file between folders on the same remote server, the green plus sign icon appears above the cursor. In the OSX vernacular, this suggests that the file will be copied, i.e. a copy of the file will remain in the source location. For example, in Finder, when moving files between local folders, clicking and dragging moves a file, whereas pressing the option key while clicking and dragging causes the green plus sign icon to appear and a copy of the file will be moved to the new location, leaving the original file in the original location. Instead of copying the file as the green plus sign suggests, clicking and dragging causes FileZilla to move the file and not retain it in the original location. This could lead users to believe that they have copied a file when in fact they have moved it. Therefore, this copy icon should not appear. |

#10813 | Updating to latest version trashed FZ installation | normal | wontfix | 8 years | 8 years
Description |
Win 7 Pro. A few minutes ago, I clicked the "New version available" button from within FZ and followed the prompts. Things progressed in an orderly way until the prompt that told me a FileZilla exe was still running and that all running FZ apps should be exited before updating. There was no *visible* FZ exe running at that point, and I'm sorry to say (as I had had no trouble with preceding updates initiated AT START-UP of FZ and hence wasn't paying much attention to the update process) I don't recall what the choices were, but whatever I chose has resulted in my entire FZ installation being deleted except for the exe file (dated 2/29/16). So this method of updating (from the BUTTON) appears to not kill the running FZ. No back-up, my fault. |

I don't remember this percent-encoding, i.e. %40 = @ being used until what must have been a fairly recent version. I'd prefer to see matt@foobar@… even if that means showing two @ symbols. I'm attaching a partial screenshot of an FTP session tab where domain name is partly blacked out. |

#10949 | Missing Private Key Locks Site Manager | low | wontfix | 8 years | 8 years
Description |
When scrolling through sites on the site manager, if you select a site that uses keys to authenticate, and those key files are missing, a pop up appears saying: title: "Could not load key file" body: "The file '[path to key]' could not be loaded or does not contain a private key. However, when you attempt to select another site from the list, the pop up still appears, and does not allow you to use the site manager without closing and reopening the window. While the bug could be fixed by simply stopping the pop-up from appearing again after you select another site, I would like to propose that the key not found be moved into the site manager itself, instead of a popup, perhaps as a colored warning below the key file selector. This would have the benefit of not stopping a user from scrolling down through the list and getting pop-ups for sites he is not interested in, only getting the alert within the window when he stops on a site. note: this also happens on the linux versions of filezilla. |

#10981 | Remote drag and drop does not set icon position | normal | wontfix | 8 years | 8 years
Description |
When dragging a file from the remote pane to the desktop, the position of the icon of the file being copied should be set according to the location of the mouse cursor at the point that the mouse button was released. Instead, the icon is simply placed into the next available position automatically by Explorer. Note that this does not happen when dragging a file from the local pane to the desktop: this does place the icon exactly where it was dropped. Only the remote pane is affected. As an example, imagine you have two displays, with display 1 as the primary, and FileZilla on this display. Should you drag one local file and one remote file to display 2, the local file will be deposited exactly where you dropped it, but the remote file will be placed automatically by Explorer and will be behind the FileZilla window, somewhere amongst your other icons. This did affect XP (some old version of FileZilla), and it's still present in the latest FileZilla 64-bit in Windows 10 (3.21.0). |

Description |
Recent VCS versions of FileZilla client show a warning message right upon start which seems to be associated with crashes / core dumps that sporadically take place after establishing connections. Both the error message and traces of the crash are attached to this report. Debug symbols were disabled, let me know if this isn't enough. The message is the same when wxWidgets are compiled against GTK 3 or 2. The crashes were seen under GTK 2 only so far which may or may not be by incident. Seen compiling 8034 against wxWidgets from current master on Arch Linux x86_64. |

#11237 | Incorrect filename parsing | normal | wontfix | 7 years | 7 years
Description |
There seems to be a issue if a filename starts with a space character (or multiple spaces). The FTP client will trim out all spaces from a filename and display the rest of its string (this can also be a issue with a space as the last character) I've discovered this after some users reported that they can't delete there own files (They have full read/write access) and the message was that "550 The system cannot find the file specified.". So I've start investigating the issue and with multiple FTP clients: WinSCP, FileZilla, Total Commander, etc... All with the exact problem. The file can't be renamed/deleted/open/etc. The server is a "Microsoft FTP Service - Windows 2008 R2" which seems to accept filenames starting with one or multiple space characters :( Command: DELE A D R E S A Document1.doc Response: 550 The system cannot find the file specified. Command: RNFR A D R E S A Document1.doc Response: 550 The system cannot find the file specified. I know, is one of the weirdest names I've seen so far.... So, to solve this I've used old school FTP command line ftp> o my.ftp.server Connected to my.ftp.server. 220-Microsoft FTP Service [...] 230 User logged in. ftp> cd file/path 250 CWD command successful. ftp> dir 200 PORT command successful. 125 Data connection already open; Transfer starting. 02-27-17 07:54AM 544768 A D R E S A Document1.doc 02-27-17 08:45AM 753624 A D R E S A Document2.doc 226 Transfer complete. ftp: 119 bytes received in 0,00Seconds 59,50Kbytes/sec. ftp> delete "A D R E S A Document1.doc" 550 The system cannot find the file specified. ftp> mdelete * 200 Type set to I. mdelete A D R E S A Document1.doc? yes 250 DELE command successful. mdelete A D R E S A Document2.doc? no ftp> delete " A D R E S A Document2.doc" 250 DELE command successful. So, by using a buggy FTP server witch accepts unusual filenames (starting with space characters) combined with weird people writing those names the result is no more access to those files anymore. Please redesign the filename parsing for "LIST" command, so it will accept those anomalies. |

Description |
In a dual monitor setup, Windows, if Filezilla is snapped to one side of the smaller monitor, the site manager dropdown expands to the height of the taller monitor, and therefore runs offscreen. If you're arrow-ing down to entries, you have to arrow down several past the bottom of the screen to get the entries to scroll. This makes the bottom-most entries inaccessible. See it in action here. I'm using the arrow keys to advance down the list, and you see I have to go several beyond the "bottom" to actual get to the bottom and start scrolling. The arrow icon isn't even visible. |

#12166 | Integer Overflows when Processing Directory Listing | normal | wontfix | 4 years | 4 years
Description |
There are integer overflows in enging/directorylistingparser.cpp and interface/remotelistview.cpp, when converting from the string received to int64_t. A number higher than the max of int64_t as the size returned in a directory listing will be improperly parsed and produce nonsensical results, such as a negative file size. This happens on lines 220, 2644, and 2665 in directorylistingparser and 782 in remotelistview (not an exhaustive list). Since this value is not used, other than displayed to the user, I do not think this can be exploited, nor crash the program. |

#12389 | ETA/Size of downloads when filesize is incorrect | normal | wontfix | 3 years | 3 years
Description |
If you have two instances of FZ open (eg you might have on two computers) and one fetches a directory listing before the other has finished uploading a file, when you download that file (certainly after timeout) FZ doesn't refetch the latest (final) size but assumes what it has is correct, and the ETA is incorrect. I think certainly once it's passed the projected size it should realise and fetch the correct size and the ETA should be updated, however it may be better in addition if it could check the size before downloading if: the timestamp of the file is close to when the directory was listed and the session had not uploaded it there, as that's a sure sign the size might be incorrect. Cheers, David |

"FAILED TO VALIDATE SETTINGS" Associated program not found: C:\Windows\System32\notepad.exe If you remove the first few lines, it will display errors as for some reason, format is incorrect in many of those filetypes (never touched this window) Solving is easy as you just remove misspelled settings and add quotes, but it's weird that FileZilla even created such associations in the first place. 1137 "C:\Program Files\Notepad++\notepad++.exe" %f conf "C:\Program Files\Notepad++\notepad++.exe" %f htaccess "C:\Program Files\Notepad++\notepad++.exe" %f log "C:\Program Files\Notepad++\notepad++.exe" %f php "C:\Program Files\Notepad++\notepad++.exe" %f txt "C:\Program Files\Notepad++\notepad++.exe" %f |

#12955 | Unable to build Filezilla 3.65.0 on Ubuntu 22.04 (jammy) | normal | wontfix | 10 months | 10 months
Description |
Hi! I regularly package Filezilla for XtraDeb.net. Filezilla version 3.64.0 built fine on Ubuntu 22.04 but version 3.65.0 is breaking with the following error: configure: error: Boost Regex 1.76 or higher not found. You can find attached the full build log. I'm also able to build fine on Ubuntu 23.04 (lunar) after adding libboost1.81-dev. Unfortunately, this package does not exist on Ubuntu 22.04. It only has libboost1.74-dev. I think the error might be related to revision 10985. Would it be possible to patch back Filezilla 3.65.0? Thank you! Jhonny Oliveira @ https://xtradeb.net |

#13002 | Icon in system tray stay after program closed | low | wontfix | 7 months | 7 months
Description |
Steps to reproduce:
Ooops... icon in systray stil exists and disappears only after hovering mouse over it. Taskmon shows that FileZilla already unloaded and not running. It starts after upgrading to 3.65.0 (from 3.64.x I suppose) and still exists on 3.66.1. |

#3698 | Dates on files | normal | duplicate | 16 years | 6 years
Description |
i am using FileZilla 3.1.1.1 with FreeFTPD server. When looking at the "last modified" date code on the files in Filezilla they are all wrong. most of them have dates of January 1969 or 1970. Has onyone else seen this issue? The dates on the files within windows are correct. |
