#4156 | incorrect instantaneous speed | normal | rejected | 15 years | 15 years
Description |
The speed that I have on the transfer line is not correct. It presents the average speed of the total transfer and IT SHOULD BE THE INSTANTANEOUS speed. If I limit the speed in 5 kb/second for exemple, this will drop so slowly, because it the average of the total transfer. And it is not correct. I want the speed to drop to 5 kb immediately to show the current speed upload. Ok, you could give average and instantaneous speed and that would be perfect! But this way, it is not what I expected to see. So the remain time is affected by this value too. And thank you for this amazing piece of art! I use client and server versions. |

#9950 | incorrect size of file displayed at the download progress | low | outdated | 9 years | 9 years
Description |
Hello. Here is the scenario. In the remote directoy the file that I want to download is being builded (an sql backup) and the size displayed for Filezilla Client is X. then when I note in the SSH terminal that the dump has been finished, I proceed to download with FileZilla client, and the issue here is that Filezilla uses the size of the file detected the last time reviewed, and not the final size (then an incorrect file size is displayed in the progress of the file that is being downloaded). thanks for your attention. |

#3633 | incorrect translation in Italian version | normal | 16 years | 16 years
Description |
The Italian version lists among the download/upload options the following entry: "Sovrascrivi se dimensione più recente" ... which would sound in English like "Overwrite if dimension is more recent". It should be corrected to "Sovrascrivi se dimensione different", i.e. in English "Overwrite if dimension is different". |

#3592 | initial directory passed by URL is interpreted wrong | normal | 16 years | 16 years
Description |
URLs with the syntax "ftp://user:pasw@host/dir1/" will connect to the FTP but then try to CHDIR to "/dir1" instead only CHDIR to "dir1". This is a difference compared to IE or FireFox since it will overwrite the servers user initial user directory setting. The directory "/dir1" does not exists on the server but "/home/user/dir1" in my case. |

#5221 | initial message log overflows its viewpane | normal | duplicate | 14 years | 9 years
Description |
Hi. Filezilla, great, actually. Recently, and continuing on the just-released 3.3.2, info below, the message log from initial connection often scrolls upwards out of its pane, obliterating the text areas and buttons at the normal top of screen. I managed to capture the hopefully enclosed pic where it doing so less than usual, so you can see the effect in its whole context. Usually it completely masks, overwriting with text log results. By the time you see this happen, it no longer does -- subsequent logging for ftp transfers stays in the proper log area. It seems to occur then only during the initial connection. Thanks, and best - it's a great tool. FileZilla Client Version: 3.3.2 Build information:

#11124 | installed latest version of filezilla, and now getting 404 not found | high | rejected | 7 years | 7 years
Description |
Every year, I upload a schedule.htm to my web site via filezilla. This year, when I opened filezilla, it had a latest version update (which I always do when given the option), and I then deleted old schedule, updated new schedule and I get the following: "404 not found, nginx/1.2.7". I have searched filezilla forums several ways and each time I get 0 results. I have contacted my server, deleted old htm files and re-uploaded. I have uninstalled and reinstalled filezilla, and no matter what I have tried, I continue to get this message and thus, cannot view my schedule. This affects my business, and as it is the start of a new year, this for me is a high priority. |

When installing FileZilla-2.2.0 (on a WinXP box) it offers no capability to install for "All Users", and instead unconditionally installs Start menu items in the current users' start menu (whether they be an administrator or not). FileZilla-2.1.7 had a similar bug. It installed to "All Users" but the permission of the files were set to be unreadable by anyone other than the user who installed them. |

Sometimes mousecursor jumps in local fileexplorer window when try to mark multiple files/folders. I click for drag and then the cursor jumps (while having markingbox) to the rightdown corner, like his position is set to infinity in mouseMoveEvent. This doesn't happen if there are allready marked items. (feels like 2 events compete at mouseevent) special: I have a 2 monitor setup where my primary monitor is the left one, and the secondary monitor is the right one. On the logical site the left monitor is on the left site (So when I leave my primary(right) monitor on the left site I enter the left monitor). |

#3380 | keyboard navigation does not work in directory trees | normal | 16 years | 16 years
Description |
When the focus is in the file list (local or remote), when I type a letter (for example "i") the filename selection (or focus ?) goes to the next directory or filename which begins with the typed letter (for example "index.html"). Intuitively, it should work the same way in the "directory trees" (local or remote), but it does not. I remember it worked in Filezilla 2 versions. |

#12415 | keyboard-interactive duplicates & signs and adds > sign | normal | fixed | 3 years | 3 years
Description |
When an SSH server issues a keyboard-interactive authentication to the client and the "instruction" field contains an & (and) sign (e.g. in an URL) the and sign is duplicated. Furthermore, it adds a > sign after a certain length. #5364 | large files upload fails | normal | outdated | 14 years | 10 years
Description |
I have no problem with small file upload such as html or images on this server of mine, but when I try to upload a large video file I get a strange behavior. The log attached refers to the file Ali_my_Slum_my_Korogocho.flv which is 105 MB. The upload progress bar reaches 100% in few seconds (!!) then stops there. After some time (30 seconds or so) it gives a file transfer failed or connection time out error. It then retries to upload the file few times but it failes even before the progress bar is displayed. Finally it asks me if I want to overwrite the file alredy present on the server (which is truncated at a size around 1MB). CuteFTP initially does the same with the progress reaching 100% but then it restarts the transfer with the progress at 3/5 % and it starts uploading the file in chunks giving a bunch of "ERROR:> Temporary completion problem reply." but it eventually succeed completing the file. #4649 | large text file in ASCII mode did not get downloaded during ssl/tls session | high | outdated | 15 years | 10 years
Description |
Filezilla 3.2.6.1 vsftpd 2.1.0 on AIX with TLS support When I downloaded a large text file (e.g. 80KB file) in ASCII mode from remote server to local PC (using either implicit or explicit tls/ssl), the file does not get copied. This was tried on both passive and active mode. I have no problem downloading same large text file in binary mode. I also have no problem with smaller text files and uploading large text files in ASCII mode. I see 2 error TLS messages in debug mode Trace: GnuTLS error -8: A record packet with illegal version was Trace: GnuTLS error -9: A TLS packet with unexpected length was received. WinSCP have no problem downloading large text file in ASCII mode so it may not be the server issue. Description |
I am connecting FileZilla 3.7.3 from Windows 7 Ultimate to a Windows 2008 server running freeFTPd. Everything functions as expected, but the dates displayed in the LAST MODIFIED column are incorrect in specific instances. IF the first item in the "ls" of the default folder/dir is a FILE the dates are all fine for the whole session. IF the first item in the "ls" list of the default folder is a FOLDER the date modified column shows ALL dates in the range of 12/31/1969 to late 1970. The dates remain incorrect for the complete session. I have tried other SFTP clients and they are fine even with the first item as a folder. This is a FileZilla problem. |

Description |
Description: After I log into a server where my password will expire in XY days, the server sends back a notification which states so and ask me to press 'Enter' to continue. This causes the FileZilla client to popup a 2nd login dialog box and refuses to let me hit enter because I did not specify anything in the password input box (error: blank password). This misbehavior has been present for as long as I can remember. Steps to reproduce the issue:
1) log into the server 2) enter userid and password 3) server sends this text back: Your password expires in 12 days. Please change it as soon as possible. Press Enter to Continue. 4) press Enter key to complete the login process
1) Setup a SFTP connection to the server 2) Initiate a SFTP connection to the server 3) FileZilla prompts for initial password 4) enter password 5) Server sends this text back: Your password expires in 12 days. Please change it as soon as possible. 6) FileZilla pops up a "keyboard-interactive authentication" input dialog box 7) press Enter key fails the dialog box validation code resulting in an error popup stating "You have to enter a string!". 8) clicking on "cancel" button result in a connected session but nothing in the remote directory panel, clicking on the "refresh" option doesn't do anything. We tested by moving files out of the directory and then the ls command worked again. Placing the files back in the directory causes the ls to stop working. #4325 | m4v files are unconditionally labelled "Video (protected)" | normal | rejected | 15 years | 15 years
Description |
I was uploading a .m4v file when I noticed that FileZilla indicated its type as "Video (protected)." This was incorrect, as it was an unprotected video file, leading me to believe that FileZilla simply labels all m4v files as protected. .m4v and .m4a simply describe the contents of an MPEG-4 container: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MPEG-4_Part_14#.MP4_versus_.M4A_file_extensions I tried grepping the source to see where Video (protected) comes from, but couldn't find anything. Additionally, I'm on Mac OS, and the only place where I can see a file type being grabbed is in filelistctrl.cpp within the member function CFileListCtrl<CFileData>::GetType. That member uses a function called SHGetFileInfo which appears to be Windows-only, so I'm at a loss for clues as to whether this is a FileZilla problem or within its underlying libraries. Mac OS X's Get Info pane correctly describes the file type as "MPEG-4 Video File." |

#6518 | modified uploaded files | critical | outdated | 13 years | 8 years
Description |
Hi! I've been using FileZilla for years now but lately I had to move to another FTP Client due to some issues I'm having. FileZilla version: 3.3.5.1. Processor: AMD Phenom 8450 Triple-Core Processor 2.10 GHz RAM: 2GB System:Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bits. When I upload individual or a group (queue) of files to my Server (auto, ascii or bin) no error message is shown but is very common they fail when I test the result of the uploading. They shouldn't fail beacause those files belong to applications I've got them running in my local environment AND in another remote Server of my own. Investigating the reasons of these failures I found out that most of the uploaded files have different size in my Server than the size they've got in my local installation. Using another FTP Client (Core FTP LE) the same files were uploaded properly, no different in their sizes and no failure when testing my Server's installation. Attached you will find the print screen of both upload operations (FileZilla's and CoreFTP's). This shows up only one case; it happens with almost all applications I've got (more than 100). I've got another ticket opened 15 days ago (Ticket #6505) where I report another issue with FileZilla and I believe both issues may have some connection. Both issues (this one and the one reported in ticket 6505) started to show up after I installed Windows 7 in my PC. I love FileZilla and after so many years using it I'm more than used to its features but, unfortunately, now I had to move to another FTP Client because I need to continue working and those misbehaviours add delays to my work.... but I'd love to go back to FileZilla. I will appreciate any help. Best regards, Lautaro. |

If I try to transfer files to or from a server that only accepts one connection to the server i continuously get disconnected and reconnected with the status message 421 I can't accept more than 2 connections as the same user. i think the way this could be fixed is to add a checkbox in the Site manager that disables more than 2 connections. another suggestion: you can make filezilla automatically change the state of the checkbox (permanently, not temporary) to checked when it finds at least two 421 errors per connection. Also can someone put a move and copy function into filezilla, for working with files on the server side? thanks! |

#5383 | multiple concurrent uploads fail with SFTP | low | rejected | 14 years | 9 years
Description |
This may be related to this bug: http://trac.filezilla-project.org/ticket/3477 Two years old and long since closed, but this appears to be the same (or a similar) issue. Uploading multiple files in multiple folders, over SFTP, with multiple concurrent uploads (5 is my setting), doesn't work with all servers. The problem is, the client makes no intelligent decisions about the order in which uploads are processed. That is, if you're uploading "folder_a/file_a" and "folder_a/file_b", the order in which these happen to occur, is unpredictable - it depends on whether or when a thread happens to be available. So when "file_a" begins to upload, the folder is created - but if at the same time "file_b" begins, and assumes the folder has been created, but the previous request didn't complete yet, it will fail. |

#11645 | new version needs installation howto and stability notice | normal | worksforme | 6 years | 6 years
Description |
I installed FieZilla, which immediately offered me a new version. I accepted and was sent an archive. I did not find a readme or other installation guide. For example, the de-archiving program asked me what to name what I was extracting. I assume that has to be a name that will be recognized by the OS desktop environment's main menu. I don't know what that name is, although maybe someone on the Internet knows. I assume I have to configure configuration files external to FileZilla, but I don't know which files or to say what. I assume the installed directories and files have to go to certain locations, but I don't know where and it's probably not the de-archiver's default destination, which is the /downloads/ directory for my login. And I think I see "nightlybuild", perhaps as an owner's name, which suggests that I'm upgrading from a stable version to an unstable one without notice, even though the right-hand version number is "0". Please include an installation guide. A root-level readme.txt file might be all we need. Please tell us if the new version is stable, especially in the old version's offer of a new version. This installation attempt was on June 20, 2018. |

Not sure why the newer file was skipped unless program is only comparing hh:mm of each file and not hh:mm:ss ...but this is only speculation. |

I installed FileZilla FTP client, started it, and an error message popped up: Error loading xml file Could not load "C:\Documents and Settings\Dženan Zukić\Application Data\FileZilla\filezilla.xml", make sure the file is valid. For this session, default settings will be used and any changes to the settings are not persistent. OK After clicking OK, several more similar messages are displayed, and file window is shown. Some more messages may appear during usage, all referring to the same file. I believe that reason is character "ć", which is not included in charset ISO 8859-1 (US-ASCII) which is default on my system. Again when closing the application, similar message is displayed. |
